The Corrosive Challenge #184 - Cute and Creepy

Hello!  Another Corrosive Challenge is upon us and we have a fabulous new sponsor for you with Dilly Beans!

They have a plethora of cute and creepy images so why not make that our theme this fortnight?  With Halloween on the horizon this promises to be lots of fun!  I must admit that I spent all day putting up my Halloween decorations (with a bit of cleaning thrown in) and neglecting my crafty duties.  But I did finally manage to get this little guy, Little Monster & Bat (478), colored up and onto a card.  Paper is from the Cosmo Cricket Haunted collection.  I used a Spellbinders Bats die, a Stampin' Up punch, and added googly eyes plus a bit of bling.  The sentiment is from Recollections.  I will most likely give this to Kayne.

Want a chance to win 3 Dilly Bean images?  Show us your creepiest and cutest creations over at The Corrosive Challenge blog!  And while you're there be sure to admire the team's amazing work!  They are much more inspiring than I am today!  My mojo seems to be MIA at the moment.  Maybe coffee will help.  It's mocha pumpkin spice... Sounds promising!  Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Markers used: Copics (YG11, BG0000, N0, N2, N4, N6, N8).

Challenges:
- Dilly Beans Challenge: Jewels/Glitter

Bedtime Stories

Hey!  I'm back with my second creation as a Guest Designer for Simply Challenged Challenges and Simply B Stamps!  The challenge this fortnight is "Create Your Own Background".  That means create a background for your project using stencils, stamps (no digis), sprays, inks, and the like.  No embossing folders are allowed either.

I was given the adorable Rio and Toots Bedtime Stories to work with so I decided to create a book cover card.  I used the Tim Holtz Book Cover stamp and Distress Ink in Vintage Photo and Old Paper.  My image is colored with Copics and fussy cut.  I added some "hinges" made with one of the Spellbinders Fancy Tags dies/  I used more Tim Holtz products with the Ornate Plate and Corners.

I have to admit that  I seriously stressed out this project and put it off until the very last minute.  It's funny how when I finally sat down to work on it, I had a flash of inspiration and I must say I'm pretty pleased with the results!  I want to thank the lovely ladies at Simply Challenged Challenges for having me this month and special thanks to Miss Boo for sharing her fabulous images!  I do love SBS!!!

Markers used: Copics (E00, E11, E21, E31, E70, E74, YG91, YG93, YG95, N0, N2. N4, N6, N8).

Day of the Dead

Hello again!  I finally managed to complete another card.  I just HAD to color up this gorgeous creature Annierexia from Simply B Stamps.  She was a $1 deal from the generous Betty and even though there was no requirement to play along since I purchased her (and her The Stamping Chef counterpart Bite Me) I felt like I should attempt at least one card for their Vampire vs Day of the Dead challenge.  So here it is.

Annierexia was colored with Copics and cut with a Classic Ovals die then matted on top of one of the Floral Ovals dies (both from Spellbinders).  Since I was pressed for time I kept my layout simple and used background paper that could hold it's own without a lot of embellishments.  This sheet is from the new Recollections Halloween collection, Haunted Midnight Magic.  I stamped a bit on the edge of the image panel to grunge it up and then simply added a big bling flourish, a couple of flowers, and the obligatory glitter for the challenge (Lavender and Gunmetal Stickles).

Now off to start work on another SBS project...  These cards don't make themselves!  All the little side challenges are so tempting and fun that they distract me from the cards I'm supposed to be making!  Both images are now available in their respective stores for regular price.

Markers used: Copics (E00, E11, E21, E23, E25, E31, E79, N0, N2, N4, N6, N8, V06, V12, V15)

HB2U

Hi there!  I had seven cards that I wanted to get done this weekend and so far this is the only one I've managed to accomplish!  I had a full day of apple picking and Fall fun yesterday and today is a family dinner so...  We shall see.  But I did want to share this Kenny K creation with you at least.  They are having a Facebook challenge right now where they want you to show off your Kenny K style.  You can "like" their page HERE.

I love the images, from sexy to cute, and use them all, but for this birthday card I went cute with Texting Diva.  She is colored with Copics and cut using the Spellbinders Deckled Rectangles dies.  I used two other dies: Classic Circles, also from Spellbinders, and Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics from My Favorite Things.  The sentiment was also made using a MFT product- a stamp set called Let's Chat.  Papers are Follow Your Heart - Be Amazing from My Mind's Eye.  A Martha Stewart border punch and some flowers and bling from my stash finish off the project.  The sketch is a fun one from The Sketchy Challenges (#56).

Hopefully I can squeeze in some crafting time before we head out for the day and then again this evening.  *sigh* So many digis, so little time!  lol  Have a fabulous day where you are!  Fall has officially begun here, and we kicked it off right with a trip to the orchard yesterday!  Can you say caramel apple, apple cider doughnut, and pumpkin ice cream?  YUM!  Not to mention the apples we picked and a couple of small pumpkins to take home too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Wishes Take Flight

Hello and Happy Friday!  I wanted to share a card that I made using one of Krista's adorable digis from Saturated Canary!  She's called Chasing Butterflies and you can find her and a bunch of other cuties HERE in Krista's shop.

I missed the link up on this lovely sketch, but it's from Try Stampin' On Tuesday (#135).  It was a busy week and I just didn't have time to blog before now!  Papers are Dolled Up by My Mind's Eye.  I used my Romantic Rectangles die from Spellbinders, added a few punched butterflies (Martha Stewart) as well as some lace, bling, and flowers from my stash.  This card went to one of my co-workers for her birthday.  She likes butterflies so I gave her birthday wishes wings!

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you have a wonderful weekend planned!  We will be going apple picking tomorrow, and if the weather cooperates on Sunday, we may be having the last cookout for the season.  Whatever you have planned, I hope you enjoy!

Markers used: Copics (E00, E11, E21, E23, E25, E27, E31, E34, R20, R32, R81, R85, RV29, BG10, BG72, YG93, YG95, N0, N2, N4, N6).

Zombie Apocalypse

When I asked Kayne what he wanted on his birthday card this year without a moment's hesitation he replied, "A zombie, Momma!"  Well, of course!  Who doesn't want zombies on their birthday?  I hear the walking dead can really party!  (He is SO my kid, by the way!)  But it's a sign that he's growing up.  Zombies and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have replaced the monster under the bed and Little People.  He's four today.  FOUR!  How did THAT happen?  But as nostalgic as the baby photos make me, and though sometimes I still wish time could stand still (or at least slooooow down), I am so lucky to be able to watch him grow and change.  He is so much FUN right now!  We can go places and do things and have adventures!  I treasure all that and I hope he knows how very much I love being his mom... how very much I love him!

I decided to color up Zombie Philly from Saturated Canary for his card.  Krista's cute image was perfect for the occasion!  I used my Copics, adding a bit of glaze pen to his eyes, then fussy cut him.  The papers are Wicked from My Mind's Eye and even though it's a Halloween pad, I still found a few sheets that worked well for both zombie AND birthday.  The sketch is the current Sketch Saturday (#276).  I used a couple of dies: the Labels Ten Spellbinders Nestabilities and Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics as well my Martha Stewart Drippy Goo border punch (one of my faves!).  The only embellishments I added were the American Crafts chipboard glitter number sticker and a couple of black pearls.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up.

I was up way past my bedtime again- wrapping gifts, putting the finishing touches on Minion cupcakes, and thinking about how excited he was when he went to bed for it to be "tomorrow".  As we get older we forget how magical birthdays are and I am glad that I have an adorable, sweet, and just plain awesome reminder of just how special, precious, and amazing life is!  Happy 4th Birthday, buddy!  I love you!  More than zombies love brains.

Markers used: Copics (YG11, YG13, YG91, YG93, YG95, E23, E31, E33, E34, YR00, YR02, YR04, Y32, Y35, Y38, N0, N2, N4, N6, N8).

The Corrosive Challenge #183 - Maiden, Mother, Crone

Hello!  It's the start of a brand new challenge over at The Corrosive Challenge today!  We're excited to welcome back another super sponsor, Delicious Doodles!

Here is a little about the company in the artist's own words:

Delicious Doodles is a young company with myself,Teri, as the Sole Trader/Designer.
I have doodled and sketched all of my life.
I started making greetings cards when my last child was born, and used my doodles on them as I couldn’t find what I wanted in the usual craft places.
I only started selling my images in the Autumn of 2009.

I design and hand/mouse-draw all of the images that are sold in the Delicious Doodles Shop. Some are cutsie animals, some are sketched flowers, there are a few men's images, fairies and also some 'darker' images featuring vampires, skulls and Gothic stuff, something for everyone!

Our theme today is Maiden, Mother, Crone (in other words, I'm just a girl...)!  To play along all you have to do is use a female image, young or old, on your project.  Teri has an amazing selection of women in her shop, and she was generous enough to send the team 4 images to work with.  I had planned on using Earth Mother for my project, but when she released this gorgeous new white witch named Blanch last week, I knew I had to create with her!   So I purchased her, colored her with Copics and fussy cut her.  Papers are DCWV's Spooky Time stack.  I used the Fleur de Lis Squares Nestabilities from Spellbinders as well as the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics from My Favorite Things.  The layered sticker is one from a Recollections pack I picked up last Halloween.  The only other embellishment I added were a few flowers from my stash.  The sketch is Mojo Monday (#310).

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful Sunday!

Markers used: Copics (E00, E11,E21, E23, E31, E34, E37, E39, R20, R32, RV63, RV66, Y28, B00, B02, V12, V15, N0, N2, N6).

Guest Designing for SBS

Hello again!  I am honored to be guest designing for Simply B Stamps this month!  I was so thrilled when they asked me to join them over at their Simply Challenged Challenges blog!  Today is my first challenge and it's right up my alley: Fall Colors!  SBS is also sponsoring Pile It On this week and it's a fun Tic-Tac-Toe theme (#36)!  All you have to do is pick any three in a row (vertically, horizontally, or diagonally) to play along.  Oh, and they encourage you to "pile on" the challenges too!

I was given the adorable Jude Pumpkins from the Jude & the Rockers Fall collection to work with.  It's perfect because I was able to make a card for Kayne.  He loves to get my cards which I find endearing beyond words!  I colored Jude with Copics and fussy cut him.  The sketch I used is the current Sweet Sketch Wednesday (#222).  I actually managed to complete three different rows on the Tic-Tac-Toe (patterned paper-metal-for a child, patterned paper-dies-autumn colors, and autumn colors-image-for a child) so go me!  lol

Papers are from the Pumpkin Patch stack by DCWV.  These are great Fall papers and are really fun to work with!  That awesome pumpkin die from Spellbinders was just waiting for an excuse to be used on a card and it fit perfectly with the theme and sketch!  I love when things come together like that!  I added brown gingham ribbon, a Tim Holtz metal corner, and a sentiment that is also from SBS, which can be found in the Jude & the Rockers Halloween bundle.  The sentiment is cut using Labels Twenty-One from Spellbinders and I used a little Distress Ink in Vintage Photo on it.

Please head over to the SCC blog to see the amazing DT creations and maybe visit their blogs for a bit of love too.  Here is a list if you are so inclined:

The Paper Shelter Design Team Call

Hello!  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  I was very busy conjuring up some crafty magic and so now I'm here to share that project I hinted at yesterday.  I've been working on it for three days, but the minute I saw Incantation, this adorable witch image from The Paper Shelter, I started the planning!  Halloween will be here before we know it, after all!  I happened to see on their Facebook page that The Paper Shelter was having a design team call.  I'm completely smitten with these gorgeous images so there was no way I could not apply!   Visit their shop HERE and you'll see what I mean!

My project is an altered photo tray turned shadow box.  The actual tray was purchased at Michaels.  It's from their Recollections line.  I printed Incantation larger than I normally would have for a card and colored her with Copics.  I fussy cut her, and let me tell you, that was no easy feat!  Her hair was a little tricky, and I may have inadvertently given her a trim!   She's so cute, though, that even with a bad hair cut she still looks amazing!  I did my happy dance as I pulled out Halloween papers, stamps, and embellishments!  I'll give you the complete list below for anyone who might be curious, but trust me when I say I used A LOT of stuff!  My desk was buried for a while there!  I had so much fun creating this, and she will be proudly displayed in my home this Halloween (and maybe even year round)!  Here are some close ups so you can see the detail.

Thanks for stopping by and wish me luck!  There are already over 80 entries so I've got some pretty talented competition!

Along Came A Spider

It is WAY past my bedtime, but I could not let the current Kenny K's Krafty Krew challenge expire without participating!  I mean, how could I with a theme like "Spooktacular"?!?!  So I colored up one of the sexy new witches in order to play along with challenge #154.  This is La'Spyda.  She is one of the sultry trio of witches from Kenny K's latest release.  She is colored with Copics then fussy cut.  The sketch is Sketch Saturday (#275).  Papers are Wicked Fun from Stampin' Up and Haunted by Martha Stewart.  I didn't add a lot of embellishments to this one...  Just one sparkly spider from Jolee's Boutique.  The die cuts are Fleur de Lis Squares (Spellbinders) and Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics (My Favorite Things).  The sentiment is also from MFT, a set called Ghoulish Labels.

I just adore this time of year and it makes me happy to be able to break out all the Halloween crafting goodies!  Stay tuned as I am working on something BIG that I'll be sharing with you in the next day or two!  If you follow me on Instagram you've already seen a peek!

And now, I am off to get some sleep...

Totally 50s with SBS

Hello!  I've been busy crafting this week, but I haven't been able to show off any of my creations.  So I thought it was time to share one.  The current challenge over at Simply Challenged Challenges is "Totally 50s" and there is not one single entry yet.  I thought I'd get things started.  There has to be a minimum of 6 entries for there to be a prize awarded so hopefully a few others will be inspired to play along!

I've been coloring up a lot of Simply B Stamps images lately, and here I've used Betty Monroe from the Teen Scene Go To Hollywood collection.  This iconic pose is from the movie The Seven Year Itch, which Marilyn did in 1955.  I thought she was perfect for the challenge theme!  She is colored with Copics and fussy cut.  Papers are Mama-Razzi from Bo Bunny, and the chipboard sticker is from the same collection.  I added a few die cut stars (Stars Five from Spellbinders), Film Strip Ribbon from Tim Holtz, and a sentiment from a Gina K stamp set called Quite A Catch.  The sketch is from Sunday Sketch and Stamp (#172).

I hope your weekend is off to a great start!  I think ours is going to be a quiet one again.  That could potentially mean more crafting time for me!  Yay!

Markers used: Copics (E00, E11, E21, E31, R20, R27, R89, Y28, Y32, Y35, N0, B00, B02).

- 4 Krafty Girlz Challenges: #1-Anything Goes
