Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #159

When I saw this fabulous sketch from Sweet Sunday (#159) I knew I had to use it!  There are always cards that need to be made on my To Do List (I should be working on one now, as a matter of fact) so I knew there would be ample opportunity to do so!  I decided it would be perfect for this graduation card.  It's that time of year and I needed a masculine high school graduation card.  I don't have a lot of images for teen boys so I had to go shopping (oh, the horror!  Bwhaha!)!  I picked up this one from Mo's Digital Pencil, called Glad Grad, and her super cute Bubbles (boy) image.  I then visited Simply B Stamps, Kenny K, and Mayzy Art Stamps as well, but we won't talk about that.  (Yes, I have a problem.  Hi, my name is Regan and I am addicted to digi stamps.)

Anyway....  After my fabulous weekend of fun and relaxation it was time to get back to crafting.  So I was up early Tuesday morning before work to get this one done.  I was told the school colors were black and orange.  So naturally I used Halloween designer papers.  What else?  lol  These are from Stampin' Up, called Creepy Crawly.  I colored the image with Copics.  Masculine cards are always a challenge for me as I want to add flowers and bling to everything and you just can't for boys.  Dang.  So I kept it simple with just the sketch elements - the fishtail dies are from My Favorite Things, the folder tab die is Tim Holtz, and the black grosgrain ribbon is also Stampin' Up.  The gold numbers I stole from a tassel embellishment that I had bought for this card, but decided not to use.

I am now off to work on an Irish wedding card.  I'm thinking shamrocks, but we'll see what I come up with.  Also, be sure to stop back Friday for the Sassy Studio Designs' Fabulous Freebie Friday image.  I'll be a busy girl the rest of this week!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll also check out my two year blogiversary candy!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
- Cooking It Up With Katie: #96-Celebrate with Ribbon and a Die Cut
- Stampin' Royalty: #126-Masculine

The Corrosive Challenge #150 - Not Too Shabby

Happy Sunday!  Is everyone enjoying their weekend so far?  It's a long holiday one in honor of Memorial Day here, and I am looking forward to some fun, a little crafty time, and an extra day with the small man! It's been a busy one already!  I even got to enjoy some "me time".  It started with a trip to the spa for nails and a pedicure Friday evening.  Here are the fabulous results (and my fancy new flip flops!)

**I'm going to apologize in advance but I am afraid I am now smitten with Instagram so you'll be seeing a lot more of these funky square photos!**  I then slept, blissfully alone, in my own bed and took up as much space as I wanted!  This is a big deal, you see, as every night we start out with the wee one in his toddler bed but inevitably, somewhere around 2am, I wake to find him standing next to mine, toy in hand, looking to climb into mommy's bed.  (And for one so little, he's a HUGE bed hog!  lol)  Don't get me wrong, I love to cuddle with him!  There's nothing better, but there's also a lot to be said for an uninterrupted and solitary night of sleep!  A luxury only moms can truly appreciate, I think! lol  Saturday afternoon I took in a movie with my two brothers (and the younger one's fiancee).  Let me just say: The Avengers = Awesome!  I am a HUGE fan of Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man!  And with Joss Whedon writing and directing, it was a winner all around!  I laughed, I gasped, I shouted.  It was well worth the price of the ticket plus popcorn!

Two cookouts are on the agenda for the remainder of the weekend.  And if the weather cooperates maybe we'll get to enjoy a dip in a pool as well!

But before I head off with my deviled eggs, I have a new Corrosive Challenge to tell you about!  It's the last one for May and our fabulous sponsor, Tickled Pink Stamps!  This fortnight it's "Not Too Shabby" at The Corrosive Challenge!  Yup, that's right - for a chance to win a fabulous prize from TPS and the opportunity to be our guest designer for July, we want to see your shabby chic or vintage creations!  Now I know this style is intimidating to some...  I was a little leery when I first attempted them too, but it wasn't so bad!  I normally would have opted for shabby chic, but this time I decided to give vintage a go.  I have to say that I rather like the results!

My card features Lil French Lolita Lilith from Tickled Pink Stamps.  Those fabulous papers that seem made for her are from My Mind's Eye - Lost & Found - Union Square.  I layered them with Stampin' Up card stock in Black, Kraft, and Cranberry Crisp (retired).  The kraft is distressed and inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Photo.  The flowers are a combination of WOC, I Am Roses, and Michaels' Recollections.  For interest and texture I added the black rhinestone swirl and Tim Holtz metal photo corner.  The crown border punch is Martha Stewart and my FAB ticket was created with a Tim Holtz die and coordinating stamp set plus a sentiment from My Favorite Things.

I hope you'll visit both the Tickled Pink Stamps and The Corrosive Challenge blogs to see what the ladies on the design teams have come up with to inspire you!  It would be wonderful if you wanted to play along too!

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:
- Card Makin Mamas: #46-Feeling Punchy
- Dilly Beans: Friendship
- Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog: #55-Any Sentiment
- Southern Girls Challenges: #45-Dying to Die Cut (or Punch)
- Whimsy Stamps Inspirations Challenges: #40-Vintage/Shabby Chic

Thanks for the visit and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Fabulous Freebie Friday

It's Friday and the start of a long weekend is here!  I'd say that in itself is cause for celebration!  But in case it's not enough, how about another fabulous freebie from Sassy Studio Designs?!  Yup, that's what I thought!  So if you head over to our Paper Craft Planet group, today we have a wonderful graduation image for you called Sandra's Graduation.  Sandra is a bit more mature so she is perfect for those college grads, but she'd work for high school as well.  She will be available for 24 hours so be sure to take advantage of this amazing freebie while you can!  And if you have time in between the beach and the barbeques this weekend maybe you'll play along with our FFF challenge there as well!  A new challenge starts every fortnight.  One begins today with a theme of, appropriately enough, CELEBRATIONS.  All you need to do for a chance to win 2 Sassy images of your choice is make a card using any of our Sassy images for one of life's celebrations!  It could be anything - birthday, wedding, new baby, graduation...

My card is a bit of an non-traditional graduation card but was custom made for the recipient.  This young woman will be moving to St. Croix after graduation to work in the field she studied in school!  That's one lucky lady and worthy of celebrating if you ask me!

I actually don't have a lot of details to share about this card...  Papers were from my stash and have been there for a very long time.  The palm tree image is a free clip art I found somewhere online.  (I really need to jot these things down!!)  I printed it, colored it, and cut it out using the Spellbinders Beaded Ovals Nestabilities, which I them sponged with some SU Pool Party ink.  I love this color and I'll be so sad to see it being retired!  Flowers are Recollections from Michaels.  I added a punched sand dollar (Martha Stewart) and a tiny starfish sent to me by a dear crafty friend who lives in Florida.  It was the last one in my stash.

My layout is sketch #117 from Totally Papercrafts, but I think I may have missed the deadline for the linky.  Oh, well.  I just liked the sketch and it was exactly what I needed!

I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:
- Celebrate the Occasion: #63-Graduation
- Top Tip Tuesday: #77- Dig Out The Old (use something more than 6 months old: papers and starfish)
- Use It Tuesday: #32- Use Two (use 2 hoarded items: papers and starfish)

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to stop by PCP to see what the rest of the Fabettes have to share!  It is with much pomp and circumstance that we say good-bye to this class of FFF gals!  They are moving on to a new assignment at SSD and next week we will welcome our new group of Fabettes!  So be sure to leave some extra love for them this week!  Have a fantastic Friday!

Sketchbook Saturday #60

Hello!  It's been a bit quieter here this week, but I still have a few cards to get done before the weekend.  It's supposed to be beautiful out, and I have a very busy one planned.  With something going on every day, I'd like to be able to just enjoy it! And it's a long holiday weekend too!

Before I head off to draft a few blog posts and plan a card or two I wanted to share this card that I made for a friend to give her parents for their anniversary.  I saw this sketch during my blogland travels and knew I had to use it!  I found it on a blog entitled Random Acts of Creativity.  Loved the title and loved the layout!  It is Sketchbook Saturday #60. The Tim Holtz pocket watch frame was in my stash waiting for Father's Day, but it looks like I'll need to go shopping for a new one!  I love this Stampin' Up sentiment for anniversaries and weddings (I've used it before; I'll use it again!) and I couldn't resist altering the watch and adding it to the card.  It takes the place of the BIG flower on the sketch.  Inside the watch I added more TH goodies (a Muse Token and a gear) as well as a few WOC flowers.  The other flowers are from Michaels Recollections line (as is the bling).  I added some tassel trim from my stash and stamped the sentiment on one of the Spellbinders Fancy Tags to complete the card.  Papers are Basic Grey - Out of Print.

I will be too busy watching The Avengers or attending cookouts with the small man this weekend to do much crafting, but be sure to check in on Friday for Sassy Studio Designs' Fabulous Freebie Friday.  You know there is an amazing image just waiting for you over at Paper Craft Planet every Friday!  And it was so cool that I received a copy of their newsletter in my e-mail today (Thanks, Jen!) listing me as their Member of the Week (Thanks PCP!)!  Also be sure to check in on Sunday for a new Corrosive Challenge

I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:
- Bearly Mine: #36-Anything Goes
- Party Time Tuesdays: #69-Vintage/Shabby Chic
- Sweet Stamps: #66-Anything Goes

Thanks for visiting and hope you're having a wonderful week so far!

Sassy Studio Designs May New Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the Sassy Studio Designs May New Release Blog Hop!  It's a long one so grab a cup of coffee or tea (or maybe a beer or a glass of wine), get comfy, and get hopping!  If you arrived here from Jamie's blog you are already off to a fabulous start!  If not, you may want to go back to the beginning, the SSD blog, and make sure you don't miss any of the fun!

Everyone knows that April Showers bring May Flowers so this month our hop is all about buds and blooms!  We'll be sharing our favorite flower with you, and you'll see them on our creations!  And you can win a fabulous Sassy prize of 3 of the new release images simply by telling us what your favorite flower is on the SSD blog.  Want a chance to win another prize?  Simply comment on the design team members blogs as you go.  Two random winners will be selected from all comments to win 1 new image each!

My favorite is the lilac!  They smell so heavenly when they bloom!  They bring back wonderful childhood memories and instantly transport me to my happy place!  Not to mention they're my favorite color - purple!  Here is a lovely photo I found on the Internet.  I should have taken one myself, but the lilacs bloomed so early this year and are already starting to fade.  I know they'll be back, and there are plenty of summer blooms to enjoy, but it's always sad to see them go.

Though I didn't include any lilacs on my card, I have used plenty of flowers!  They are a mix of WOC and Recollections.  And this Sassy lady is the new image #1 Mom!  She is available in the SSD store today!  If you were lucky, you might already own her as she was a freebie offered only on Mother's Day weekend!  This mom's got it goin' on and she even has fab "mom hair"!  I've colored her with Copics, fussy cut her, and mounted her on the card front with foam squares.  Even though Mother's Day is over, this image is perfect for a birthday or a thank you for any mom in your life!

My layout is sketch #120 from Cards and Things Challenges.  Papers are My Mind's Eye - Lost & Found Two: Sunshine.  Other embellishments include a Tim Holtz muse token and some teal pearls.

Here is the complete hop order, in case you get lost along the way:

Please note: We are experiencing some technical difficulties with Jamie's blog so the link may not be working.  If you try and get an error, please come back later as we are working to resolve this.

Thanks for stopping by and remember to leave a comment for your chance to win!  Now to Lori's blog you go!  You have until 12am on Wednesday, May 23rd to complete the hop and be eligible for prizes.  Hope to see you later tonight, beginning at 7pm PDT (10pm EDT), on the Sassy Studio Designs Party Blog for a chance to chat with many of the Sassy design team members!

Have a fabulous day!

A Sassy Graduation

Why is it that my mojo chooses the most crucial moments to go MIA?  I have known for quite some time that I have cards galore due this week and yet I've procrastinated with abandon!  I've spent my evenings cuddling with the small man, reading, or sleeping.  I don't know what my deal is!  I usually thrive under these conditions, but sometimes... sometimes it's a battle to choose the craft desk over the couch!  And this was one of those weeks.  I did manage to get in gear this evening to make this card for the preview of some brilliant graduation images from Sassy Studio Designs!  Lindsay has been hard at work finishing up a mix of amazing new images which will all debut in the store tomorrow, Saturday, May 19th!  If you've been following the peviews, so far we've shown you Marie Antoinette and a very cool mom (who was a freebie on Sunday if you were lucky enough to grab her then)! Today we have the graduates for you!  There are 3 new graduation images: Graduation (the Sassy young woman I've used above), Chelsea's Graduation, and The Graduate (a male image).  Pop over to the Sassy Studio Designs blog to see samples from my team mates using these fabulous images!  And as a bonus I think there are even a few peeks of Katniss, Sassy on Fire over there as well!

I have an order for some graduation cards due this weekend so this image was perfect timing for me!  I received a few details as to school colors and the recipient's appearance and took it from there.  It's for a high school graduation, but I wanted something a little different than your usual diplomas and mortarboards.  I think what I ended up with is cool and shabby chic.  Hopefully just the thing a young lady about to start a new chapter of her life would like to receive!

Papers are Basic Grey - Kissing Booth.  I was super excited to use my new Nesties, the Floral Ovals!  I just received them in the mail this week (I love eBay!)!  When I saw the May sketch over at priscillastyles Midnight Madness (MMSC138) I knew they were getting christened!  I also used a notebook edge border punch, a houndstooth embossing folder, and my usual assortment of flowers and pearls.  The sentiment is a dimensional sticker from Jolee's Boutique.

We have a lot going on at Sassy Studio Designs this weekend! I hope you'll join us today for Fabulous Freebie Friday on Paper Craft Planet!  And tomorrow is our release, BLOG HOP, and a chat with our design team on the party blog!  Be sure to check the SSD blog for all the details!

Thanks for stopping by and let's hope my motivation returns! :)

Tickled Pink Stamps Sponsors Divas By Design

Hello!  Well, we're half way through the work week and that much closer to the weekend.  I'm freaking out a bit as it's one of those crazy, hectic crafty weeks and I am off to a slow start.  I'm hoping to gain some momentum and get things accomplished now.... because sometimes the hardest part is getting started and I've done that!  So today I'm here to tell you about another fabulous sponsorship from Tickled Pink Stamps!  I'm sure many of you have heard the news that Kellie has decided to close TPS down.  It is heart-breaking for TPS fans everywhere, but she needs to do what is best for her and her family.  The good news is that though there won't be any new images released the store will remain open for some time so that you can purchase all your favorite existing Lolitas, Lads, and Pinkettes in digi form!  And since we have some cool sponsorships that we are still participating in, you could possibly WIN a couple of those images too!

Today it's Divas By Design and their challenge is "Tickled Pink"!  Let's see you use LOTS of pink!  I did, but a bit of blue snuck in as well.  My image is Party Pinkette August, and she can be found here in the TPS shop.  She's colored with Copics with a touch of Stardust glitter pen.  Papers are Basic Grey - Urban Prairie.  I've used a couple of dies, one Spellbinder (Picot Circles) and one Die-namics from My Favorite Things.  The only embellishments I added were a few flowers and some large half pearls, one in each corner.  I didn't want to distract too much from the lovely Mojo Monday sketch (#241).  The sentiment is also from My Favorite Things.

If you'd like a chance to play along for a Tickled Pink prize then visit Divas By Design.  Also pop over to the Tickled Pink Stamps blog to see what the {PINK} ladies have come up with for this challenge!  It was an easy one for us!  After all, {PINK} is what we do!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check back later this week as I'll have a few posts from Sassy Studio Designs! We're in the middle of previews for the new release, which is happening on Saturday!  Plus I'll have another Fabulous Freebie Friday for you as well!

Have a terrific day!

The Corrosive Challenge #149 - Flowers and Doilies and Bling , Oh My!

Happy Mother's Day!  I want to wish all the moms out there a wonderful day of relaxation and pampering!  I hope that there are some new crafty goodies, and some crafting "me" time, in your future today!  And to help you along with that I'm here to tell you about a fabulous new Corrosive Challenge, sponsored by the awesome Tickled Pink Stamps!

This fortnight at The Corrosive Challenge it's "Flowers and Doilies and Bling, Oh My!"  Use at least two out of the three items on your creation and you could win the monthly prize for May!  TPS has generously offered 2 digi images of choice to our winner!  And you get the chance to be our guest designer for July as well!

My card is a Mother's Day card for my own mom!  I've used Easter Pinkette Daisy August from Tickled Pink Stamps and paired her with this month's sketch from Crafting Life's Pieces (#47).  Both were a lot of fun to work with!  August is my favorite Pinkette.  She reminds me of myself, I suppose.  Papers are Basic Grey - Lemonade.  I added flowers, a doily, and pearls in the center of the flower ribbon (for the bling).  The pennant banner was created using the Banner Day Die-namics die from My Favorite Things.  I placed some chipboard letters on top to spell "MOM".  The border punch is a Martha Stewart one and no creation of mine is complete without Tim Holtz, right?  lol  The metal corner is his.

I hope you'll visit both the Tickled Pink Stamps and The Corrosive Challenge blogs to see the amazing creations that my fellow design team mate have put together for you!  And I hope you'll play along!

I have this post scheduled in advance so that I can sleep in and then I'll be heading out to enjoy some family time and Chinese take-out.  Whatever your day brings, I hope it is fun-filled and happy!  Enjoy!

I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:
- Basic Grey: Anything Goes
- Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge: #185-I Love You Mum
- Stamp, Scrap, and Doodle Saturdays: Mother's Day
- Pattie's Creations: #43 -Mother's Day
- Simply Create Too: #13-Mother's Day (or Feminine)

Fabulous Freebie Friday

Happy Mother's Day weekend to all the Sassy moms out there!  Today's Fabulous Freebie Friday image from Sassy Studio Designs is in honor of these special ladies!  Whether you have one child or ten, biological or adopted, grandbabies or furbabies today we celebrate all those maternal nurturers and care givers!  Available as a freebie for 24 hours to our Paper Craft Planet group members is Preggo Honey!  She is a rare treat from the SSD store!  This image is perfect for baby showers or that special mom-to-be on Mother's Day!

For my card I used this week's Dare To Be Sassy Thursday sketch.  I just couldn't resist Kathy's layout!  Papers are from the DCWV stack, Nana's Nursery.  I added some pearls, flowers and a (partial) sentiment from My Favorite Things.  The die cut is one of my absolute favorites - Dizzy Doily and Dizzy Doily Duo Die-namics also from My Favorite Things.

Be sure to head over to PCP to see what the talented Fabettes have created with this sweet Little Honey and to play along in our newest challenge.  It's an easy one this fortnight:  Use any of the Sassy Studio Designs Little Honey images on your creation.  Join in for your chance to win 2 Sassy images of your choice!

I hope everyone who can claim the title of "MOM" has something special planned this weekend.  I am going to be doing a bit of pampering after work this evening with a mani/pedi session.  Tomorrow night I have a fancy work dinner in Boston, complete with limo ride!  Then Sunday will be a Mother's Day Chinese take-out with my family (after I sleep in, of course)!  I have to say that being a mother is the most amazing thing I have ever experienced!  I am so blessed to have my sweet, adorable small man and every day I think about what an honor it is to be his mommy!  Love you, Kayne!  And of course, I can't have a post about moms and not give a shout out to my own - she is the best mom and grandmother I could ask for!  If anyone deserves to be celebrated, it's her!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

A Mother's Love

Just a quick post to show off a card I made at the request of a co-worker.  It's for his wife for Mother's Day and they have two darling little girls.  When I saw this image over at A Day For Daisies shop, I knew I HAD to use it!  I would like to thank my friend Jasmine of Wasted Scraps for introducing me to these whimsical images (translation: I blame her for enabling me!  lol)

I decided to work with this week's sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches (#145).  It was designed by my crafty friend and design team mate Kathy and is one of those fabulous sketches you can dress up or down and it still looks wonderful!  They had a "twist" to the sketch as well and that was to use a die cut.  The doily behind my image is a die from Cheery Lynn called French Pastry.  I kept card pretty simple since I decided to play along with the current A Day For Daisies challenge too, which is Crazy for Calico (#42).  I wanted you to be able to see the small print paper I used so that was why I kept embellishments to a minimum.  This is my first time joining in over there and I hope to do so again in the future as I am just smitten with their images!

My image is colored with Copics and Prismacolor Art Markers.  I added a few pearls, some flowers, and the sumptuous ruffled ribbon from Stampin' Up in Cherry Cobbler.

I have to run... It's almost time for work, but thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous!  I'll be back tomorrow with our weekly Sassy Studio Designs Fabulous Freebie Friday image so be sure to check out our Paper Craft Planet group then.

Fabulous Freebie Friday

Hello!  It's time for another Fabulous Freebie Friday over at Sassy Studio Designs' Paper Craft Planet group.  Today's post has to be a brief one as I am running SUPER late!  I fell asleep snuggling with the small man last night and didn't do anything I was supposed to!  My laundry was still in the washer, FFF creation not started, and no blog posts scheduled!  Yikes!  Incredibly, the laundry is now dry, my project is made, and all the posts are done.  Now I'm off to work then home for more crafting!

I hope you like what I did with this week's freebie... Her name is Mrs. S (for Sassy), and I made her into a little teacher's thank you gift.  The chalk board was purchased at AC Moore and all I did was add some flowers, chipboard letters, and my colored image!  How much cuter and easier can you get?

If you'd like to add Mrs. S to your digi collection simply pop over to PCP and download her here.  Remember: she's only available for 24 hours!  The current challenge is "Varsity Letter" and we want to see chipboard, sticker, or stamped letters on your creations using Sassy Studio Designs images!  You could win 2 Sassy images of your choice for playing along!

Head on over now to see the A+ creations from the Fabettes!  And be sure to check back tomorrow because we have a special surprise in store for you....  But you'll have to visit us at Paper Craft Planet to find out what it is!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous Friday!

Hooo Loves You Baby

Hello!  I hope everyone's week is off to a nice start!  I'm happy because I have a day off mid-week to spend with my small man.  It's going to be a free and fun day - the park or playground (weather permitting), the library, a visit to Papa's work...  It was an unexpected day care closing, but luckily I have paid time off available so I could make it a happy thing rather than a hassle!

So today's work day will feel like Friday, even though it's only Tuesday!  Which made me think - Tuesday!  Gosh, I made a card for the Try Stampin' On Tuesday challenge and never posted it!  So here it is:

I had a request from my co-worker for her sister-in-law's baby shower this past weekend.  She is expecting a little girl and the nursery theme is an adorable nature based one featuring, you guessed it, owls, from Pottery Barn.  I dug out my What a Hoot stamp set from Clear Dollar Stamps for the occasion!  Isn't that the cutest owl ever?  And of course I couldn't resist giving her googly eyes!  The layout is sketch #63 from Try Stampin' On Tuesday and I loved it because it was simple yet could be dressed up.  I used my Lacey Circles Nesties and a Fiskars border punch, added my usual flowers and pearls, and some chipboard letters to spell "baby" (since they were still sitting on my desk from the project I finished the night before).  Papers are Nana's Nursery - Baby Girl from DCWV.

This was one of those cards that once I started it just came together so easily!  I hope you enjoyed viewing it as much as I enjoyed creating it!  I'll be back later in the week with this week's Sassy Studio Designs Fabulous Friday Freebie and you never know what else...

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!
