The Corrosive Challenge #223 - Hip to be Square

Hello!  I'm running a little late with my post for the new Corrosive Challenge!  We have an awesome new first time sponsor: Oddball Art!  Many of you know it's a challenge in itself for me to be punctual, but this time I did have legit reasons: an ink blob and a misbehaving printer were to blame!  Honest!  This version of Heidi Pinkyswear is the second one I colored after my Copic E47 decided to drip on her head!  Then my new Canon Pixma printer suddenly decided to stop printing from Word when I went to reprint her!  I swear it was a craft room mutiny!  After two hours of searching the Internet for a fix with nothing to show for it but building frustration, I gave up and went to bed.  Some things just are not meant to be!

The next day I was able to download Open Office as a work around, get Heidi reprinted and colored without incident, and finally made into a card for our "Hip to be Square" theme!  All you need to do to play along for your chance to win 3 digis from the lovely Lizzy Love is make a square project!  Visit her etsy shop HERE to see her fabulous images!

I made a humorous birthday card for a friend using Sketch Saturday (#358) as my starting point.  Heidi was colored with Copics and cut using Labels Eight Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  Paper is from my stash.  I added a buckle and type charm from Tim Holtz as well as a couple of flowers.  The other two dies used were First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics (My Favorite Things) and Scallop Border die (La-La-Land Crafts).  The sentiment is also from MFT, a set called More Essential Sentiments.

Head over to The Corrosive Challenge blog to see just how square the design team can be!  While you're there, join in the fun!

KennyK's Krafty Krew Challenge #193 - Anything Goes with a Twist: Flower Power

Hi there!  I'm popping in mid-week to share my latest KennyK creation which accompanies a new clear stamp release AND a new challenge!  Visit KennyK Clear Stamps for the former and KennyK's Krafty Krew for the latter!

Our current theme is Anything Goes (as always) with an optional twist of "Flower Power"!  You MUST use a KennyK image (clear or digi) to play either way, but using the twist will get you more prize if you are our winner.  We are offering 2 clear stamps of choice this time around with a bonus of two digis for using the twist.

Your flowers can be anywhere on your project- the image itself, your papers, the embellishments.  Get creative and let's see your inner hippy!  I'm actually showing my inner rocker as I've used the brand new Sexy Rocker clear stamp!  She is colored with Copics and cut using the Long Rectangles Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  There are a couple of other dies in use here as well: Zipper (Marianne Design) and Accent It - Rock and Roll Die-namics (My Favorite Things).  I added my flowers, a metal corner, a couple of pieces of bling, and a coating of Glaze pen to her glasses.  The sentiment is one of several that comes with the image.  I thought it would be fun to cut it with guitar pick die!  The zebra print paper is by Canvas Corp. The layout is based on the current Try Stampin' On Tuesday challenge (#214).

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll head over to the Krafty Krew blog to see the bouquet of beautiful blooms from the design team!

The Corrosive Challenge #222 - Floral Fantasy

Welcome to another Corrosive Challenge!  I have been having a rough time crafting lately.  First I was sick!  Fever, chills, the whole shebang!  And last week I somehow managed to acquire a pinched nerve in my neck that is radiating pain down my right arm (and of course I'm right handed).  Between that and the horrid weather that has continued to plague us until yesterday, I have spent my spare time on the couch in a funk.  My neck/shoulder/arm still hurt and my mojo was off but I soldiered on to make a card because we are introducing a new sponsor this fortnight: Ching-Chou Kuik!  Her enchanting images can be found HERE in her etsy shop.

Our theme is "Floral Fantasy".  Just use flowers somewhere on your creation (part of the image, on your paper, as an embellishment) and you're in!  Ching-Chou was kind enough to allow us each to select an image to work with and I picked Embrace the Ocean.  I used to her make a thank you card for someone who recently did something very kind and generous for me!

She is colored in Copics and cut using Classic Ovals Nestabilities (Spellbinders) then matted on Bead Ovals Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I added Liquid Pearl in White Opal to the pearls in her hair.  I also used adhesive pearls around the image.  Papers are Everyday Enchantment from Stampin' Up.  Assorted Martha Stewart punches, flowers, and a sentiment from Little Darlings Rubber Stamps' Vintage Affections - For All You Do stamp set adorn my card.  The sketch is from Tuesday Morning Sketches (#295).

Pop over to the challenge blog to see the floral beauty the team has to share with you!  I will attempt to have a productive day, even if that just means getting caught up on dishes, laundry, and my TV shows on Hulu.

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E70, E74, Y28, YR02, YR24, R20, R35, R37, BG10, BG23, BG45, BG75, YG17

Goblin Queen

Hi there!  Anyone fall victim to an April Fool's joke today?  I can happily say I did not.  Yet, anyway.  I'm just popping in to share a card.  I am so far behind with my blogging!  I have several cards that are just waiting to be shown to the world, but there never seems to be enough time in the day lately.  I am fighting a cold (and it's winning) but I wanted to share my Goblin Queen creation for the Simply B Stamps Facebook Fan Group challenge.  The image was free but there was a catch- you had to color her up and create a project choosing either her "light side" or her "dark side".  I went with light and this is the result.

She is colored with Copics and cut with Romantic Rectangles (Spellbinders).  I added Crystal Stickles to her wings.  The spider web die is from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I recently picked up some resin frames from the Michaels dollar section and I've used one here with a sentiment from The Artful Stamper.  Papers are Basic Grey - Euphria - Delirium.  I added a couple of bling flourishes and a few flowers to finish off the card.

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, R20, R81, R83, R85, R89, YG11, YG13, B00, B02, BG72
