Yoda One For Me
As promised, here is the collection of Valentines that I worked on last week. I had a few special requests from co-workers and I made a slew of Star Wars themed cards for Kayne, his day care friends and provider, and his dad and dad's girlfriend. Here we go...
First up is an image from Jade Dragonne. She is entitled Love is Everything. I colored her with Copics and cut her out using the Lacy Circles Nestabilities from Spellbinders. The sketch is from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (#206), but I missed linking it. Papers are True Love from Basic Grey (as is the bottle cap embellishment). I added a few other embellies: punched heart (Martha Stewart), fishtail flag (My Favorite Things Die-namics), film strip (Tim Holtz), metal binder clip (Stampin' Up), ticket sentiment (Recollections), and flowers from my stash.
Next is a lovely from Saturated Canary. She's called On My Heart. She's colored with Copics and cut using the Romantic Rectangles Nestabilities from Spellbinders. The sketch for this one came from Sunday Sketch & Stamp (#193) and once again I missed the link up. Papers are Kiss & Tell - My Mind's Eye. Accessories include a keyhole heart punch (Martha Stewart), Dizzy Doily Duo Die-namics (My Favorite Things), Banner Ribbons Shapeabilities (Spellbinders), metal key (Tim Holtz), and flowers from my stash. The sentiment is from a Stampin' Up set called Something To Celebrate.
This next creation was for a 6 year old so I selected a darling image from La-La-Land Crafts called Sweetheart Marci. She's colored with Copics and fussy cut. I matted her on top of a doily (Stampin' Up) and the Scalloped Labels One Nestabilities (Spellbinders). The flowers, key and lock, and pearls are from my stash. The punched hearts and heart border are both by Martha Stewart. Papers are actually from a winter pad but I liked it because I needed purple (the recipient's favorite color and mine too, however not to craft with). It's from The Winter Basics Stack (DCWV). The circle sentiment is a rubber stamp from Catslife Press. Pleated ribbon from Stampin' Up runs across the bottom of the card.
And finally, my epic collection of Star Wars cards. My son is OBSESSED with the movies at the moment and it just seemed like the way to go for Valentine's Day. Lucky for me, Krista of Saturated Canary drew some galactic cuties! Here is the card for Kayne's day care provider and the Valentines for his friends, using Krista's image The Force. The latter are ATC size, cut using Spellbinders Classic Rectangles Nestabilities. The sketch for the card is Tuesday Morning Sketches (#236). Papers are Kiss & Tell - My Mind's Eye. I computer generated the sentiment and cut them out using the Hearts Nestabilities from Spellbinders. On the card, I added metal corners and baker's twine. The image is colored with Copics, sponged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, and cut using Labels Twenty Two Nestabilities (also by Spellbinders).
And finally, Kayne's card, using Saturated Canary's new The Force is Strong with You. I chose to work with Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 (#6) for this one. Spellbinders Octagons and Stars Five Nestabilities were used. I created the star border with a Martha Stewart punch. Papers are from my stash and I'm not sure of the manufacturer on those. I doodled around the edge of the image panel and stamped a small sentiment from Stampin' Up.
The card was a big hit as were the Playskool Star Wars Heroes actions figures I spoiled him with as a special treat! I baked over 40 cookie pops and made all these cards in 5 days! Hence the Alex and Ani bangle for myself! I deserved some love too! (I also had my nails and a pedi done on Valentine's night!) The little ceramic heart is the gift Kayne made for me at day care. Isn't it sweet?
I hope everyone had a Happy Hearts Day! Thanks for taking a peek at all these creations and for sticking it out through a lengthy blog post! You guys are the best!

Next is the card I made for his dad. This was made using The Force images as well. I colored them with Copics, fussy cutting the girl and using the Lacey Circles Nestabilities (Spellbinders) to cut out the boy. I then popped the girl up using foam squares. Papers are True Love - Basic Grey. The layout is courtesy of Try Stampin' On Tuesday (#155). They had an optional twist of Hearts and Flowers as well and I've incorporated both here. I also added a couple of metal gears (Tim Holtz). The fishtail flags were cut using my trusty Die-namics.

The Corrosive Challenge #193 - In Stitches
Hi there! Happy Belated Valentine's Day! I was so busy this past week with crafting and baking that I never had a spare moment to blog any of the creations I made. Not to worry... I'll be back soon with a Valentine's post filled to bursting with cards! For now, I'll just share my card for the new Corrosive Challenge.
This fortnight we are welcoming sponsor A & T Digital Designs! They are the home of the adorable and whimsical Emerald Fairies. The design team was each generously provided with an image to work with and they are offering a fabulous prize of three digis to our winner!
The theme for challenge #193 is "In Stitches". This means we want to see stitching (real or faux) on your project. I am sewing machine challenged so I opted for the faux kind. This is Jewel and she is colored with Copics and then cut using the Sizzix Bigz Top Note die from Stampin' Up. It has that fabulous stitched pattern right in the die! A simple and lovely alternative to needle and thread! The sketch is Crazy 4 Challenges (#223). I used my beloved Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics, added some flowers, bling, and a couple of pins. The crystal pin is from Maya Road and the other is Stampin' Up. That adorable ladybug embellishment was made by my mom. She has her own shop on Art Fire, Wyvern Designs. Papers are My Mind's Eye - Kiss and Tell. And since every fairy needs some sparkle on her wings, I added Crystal Stickles.
I hope you'll head over to the challenge blog to see what the team stitched together for you! And play along for your chance to win too! Today is my mom's 60th birthday so we will be headed out for dinner with the family this evening. I'll probably try to get some crafting in during the afternoon, if I can muster up the energy. This brutal winter has me daydreaming of Spring from my couch, huddled under blankets with a book and the TV remote. Yesterday we had our third snowstorm in a week and a half! That darn groundhog....
Enjoy your weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Friends Don't Let Friends...
Friends don't let friends drink alone. Or celebrate a birthday without a handmade card either, for that matter! This one was created for a fantastic co-worker. The layout is from Sunday Sketch & Stamp (#192), though I missed the deadline to link. I colored up Pina Coloda Pin-up from Sassy Studio Designs. I fussy cut her, added liberal amounts of glaze to the glass of that yummy looking fruity drink, and popped her up on foam squares. The border punch is Martha Stewart. The sentiment is from a My Favorite Things set called Girls Night Out. I cut it out using one of the Fancy Tags dies from Spellbinders. Papers are from my stash and though I know they are from My Mind's Eye I'm not sure what the name of the collection is. Finishing touches are my old standby- flowers and bling!
I love the colors and the warm tropical feel to this one! It makes me wish I had an umbrella drink in hand! *sigh* Sadly, it's still cold and snowy here so hot cocoa is probably a more appropriate beverage. I'm off to start my Valentine's Day projects. This week is going to be full of baking and crafting. Lots of love to go around!
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

Look Who's One!
Hey there! Just a quick share today... Sometimes we have friends that we don't get to see as often as we like. In some cases too long passes between visits. Life moves forward and we miss important stuff like the birth of a new baby, a christening, and then before we know it a whole year has gone by! A first birthday is a big deal and I wanted my friend and her little man to know that though miles may separate us, they are right here in my heart!
Nothing says first birthday like the cake smash! And the mess is always worth the memories! I colored Kai is One (Boy) from Mo's Digital Pencil with Copics and cut him out using my Classic Rectangles Nestabilities from Spellbinders. Papers Me & My Big Ideas - Champs. I selected the current sketch from Sketchy Colors (#196) as my layout. Classic Circles Nestabilities were used to cut out the circle elements. I also utilized the Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics from My Favorite Things, which I then embossed with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. Lastly I added an American Crafts Thickers number 1 and an "Eat Cake" chipboard sticker also from Me & My Big Ideas. (I'm currently obsessed with the chalkboard art look!)
It's not the same as being there, but at least there will be some happy mail in our absence. XO
Challenges:
- Bronte and Bella's Challenge Blog (Mo's Digital Pencil): #219-We're Seeing Spots
Markers used: Copics (E00, E11, E21, E23, E25, E74, E79, YG61, YG67, R32, R35, R37, R39, R89, Y32, Y35, BG10, BG72, N0, N2).

The Corrosive Challenge #192 - Feel the Love
Remember when phones had cords?!?! What? Am I dating myself? lol I do recall those days and there was nothing like sprawling across your bed (a water bed in my case; hey, it was the 80s!) and talking to your friends for hours! Ah, the good ol' days! No texting or IMs or Facebook or Instagram or Snapchat. Just a lot of giggling and gossip through those phone lines! In honor of this, I made a Valentine's Day card for my best friend for the newest Corrosive Challenge. Our theme for challenge #192 is "Feel the Love" - make a Valentine's Day themed project. But it doesn't have to celebrate romantic love necessarily. There are all kinds of love.
We're sponsored this fortnight by one of our favorite companies: Sassy Studio Designs! Not only were we allowed to select a fabulous image to work with but there is a prize of 4 digis up for grabs for our winner!
This is Sweet Talk Sassy, and she is colored with Copics, fussy cut, and popped up on foam squares. I had this sentiment stamp from 7gypsies (Hampton Arts) that I picked up on clearance at Michaels last year and have been dying to use! I thought it fit perfectly so I stamped it on the Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics! Papers are Basic Grey - True Love. The Kiss Kiss fabric tag is also from that line. I added punched hearts (Martha Stewart), flowers, and enamel dots. As an afterthought I added the punched heart borders on either side (also Martha Stewart) and I really like the visual interest it adds.
Markers used: Copics (E00, E11, E21, E23, E25, E79, N0, N4, N6, BG10, BG72, R32, R35, R81, R85, R89, RV34).

KennyK's Krafty Krew #165 - Anything Goes with a Twist: Love
Hello! How is everyone out in blogland? I know I've been quiet again. It's this brutal Winter weather we've been having! It's been so cold all I want to do is snuggle under blankets on my couch with a book! But I did manage to spend some time at the craft desk in preparation for the new KennyK's Krafty Krew Anything Goes challenge! The twist? L-O-V-E. Love! Just in time for all those Valentine's Day cards too!
Check out the Krew's gorgeous makes and play along for your chance to win! Our random winner gets 3 digis of choice from KennyKDownloads.com (5 if you use the optional twist in your project) and each of our Top 3 picks will receive 1 digi each for the honor! Plus there's a special prize from sponsor Marianne Design as well!
Veronica Vamp is colored with Copics and cut using the Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles Nestabilities die. I decided I wanted to make a white on white card with just the image colored. I embossed some white card stock using a conversations hearts Cuttlebug folder. It's from a set called Love is in the Air. I added punched hearts and branches (Martha Stewart) as well as white flowers and clear rhinestone flourishes. The sentiment is from a My Favorite Things set called Essential Sentiments and it's cut out using the Ribbon Banners die from Spellbinders.
I have no idea who I'll give this va-va-voom card to, but it was fun to make! I love coloring Kenny's images and it's such a dream come true to be on the design team! I hope you'll join us for another fun challege! Remember: you MUST use a KennyK image to play along!
Check back tomorrow for a new Corrosive Challenge as well! Until then- enjoy your weekend!
