Happy Birthday, ElenaK!

Today is a special day!  Why, you ask?  Because it is the birthday of one very fun, funky, and fabulous mama- KennyK's Krafty Krew's very own ElenaK!  For those of you who don't know, Elena is Mrs. KennyK and our muse, our friend, and our fearless leader!  In honor of Elena's birthday the Krew thought it would be nice to surprise MsK with a blog hop to celebrate!  Each of the ladies has crafted a special birthday greeting for Elena.  Won't you hop along with us?

Visit each Krew members blog and leave a comment!  Then visit KennyK's Krafty Krew and leave some birthday wishes for Elena!  One lucky participant who has visited every blog will be selected for a special prize from our DT Coordinator, lil ol' me!  You have until February 6th to hop along!

Happy Birthday, Elena!  Thank you for all you do to make this team shine!

Here is my card for Elena, featuring Jet Setter from KennyKDownloads.  She normally has some luggage with her, but for this occasion I fussy cut her.

I've used the sketch from Incy Wincy Designs' challenge as my base and added the Heart Doily Border die (La-La-Land Crafts) to the top.  Elena's name is stamped with a Whimsy Stamps set called Spell It Out by Raindrop Echo Designs.  The letters were cut with the coordinating Tiny Shapes die set.  I also used my Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics.  I added flowers, a bling flourish, a Tim Holtz metal corner, and the Hero Arts Fabulous Birthday sentiment cut out with a Stampin' Up punch.  Papers are My Mind's Eye - Six by Six: Vanity Fair.  Ink is Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

The Greeting Farm Day Off Anya

Hello there!  How is everyone?  We are in the middle of Snowpocalypse here in New England!  It started Monday afternoon and is supposed to last until Wednesday morning, dumping 16-24" of white fluffy stuff on us!  So we'll be hunkered down for the duration!  Perfect time to hopefully get some coloring in!  For now, I'm here to show you my last guest designer project for The Greeting Farm!  It was such a pleasure to create with them this month and I'm sad my time is over!

Today's card features Day Off Anya.  In retrospect it was perfect timing to work with her as I will be having a snow day!  (Although, I think I'll need warmer clothing than the sweet little outfit she has on!)  She is colored with Copics and fussy cut.  I took my color cues from the fabulous paper by My Mind's Eye.  It's called Follow Your Heart - Be Amazing.  The sketch is the current Sketch Saturday (#345).  The circle element was cut using the Picot Edge Circles and Classic Circles Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I added a bit of ribbon, a stamped sentiment, a few flowers, and a bit of bling for my finishing touches.

I want to thank TGF team for this amazing opportunity!  I had so much fun coloring up these cuties and rediscovered my love for rubber and ink!  You should visit the shop and the blog and you'll see exactly what I mean!

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E53, E55, E57, E59, R20, N0, N2, N4, N6, Y32, Y35, BG10, BG72

The Greeting Farm Special Delivery

Hi there!  Today I am back to share my second creation as Guest Designer for The Greeting Farm!  These images are just SO much fun to work with!  I needed a birthday card for my friend's son (he's turning 2) so I colored up cute little Oliver from the OA - Special Delivery set.  I then fussy cut him and made him the showcase of Sweet Sunday Sketch #252.  Those fun papers are My Mind's Eye - Boy Crazy.  Aren't they perfect?!  I added some "boyish" embellishments with a couple of silver screw brads, a Tim Holtz Sprocket Gear, and a few buttons.  The 2 was cut with my By The Numbers Die-namics (My Favorite Things) from the designer paper so it would coordinate.

I usually have a hard time with masculine cards, but this one came together so easily! Must be because he is so adorable!

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E23, E31, E57, E59, N0, N2, N4, N8, BG10, BG72, BG75, R20, R39, R46, R89, YR24, Y32, Y35

The Corrosive Challenge #216 - Winter Blues

Hello!  I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!  It's time for an new Corrosive Challenge!  Are you ready?  We are sponsored by a company I personally love working with - A Day For Daisies!  There are sweet, whimsical, classic, elegant, and vintage images for every occasion in Tammy's shop and they are a joy to color!

Our theme for this challenge is inspired by the cold winter we're in the middle of here- it's "Winter Blues".  You have two options with this one: create a winter themed project or one that features blue.  It doesn't have to be monochromatic but the blue should feature prominently in your project.

Tammy is offering the generous prize of a $12 gift certificate to her shop and also was sweet enough to offer images to the team to work with.  I selected Robin in Winter.  I needed an anniversary card for my parents this month so I thought a winter themed one would be just right to celebrate their January wedding.  I colored the image with Copics and added some Aleene's Glitter Snow.  The image is cut and matted with Classic Circles Nestabilities (Spellbinders) and I sponged a little Baja Breeze ink (Stampin' Up) for the "sky".  My layout is courtesy of Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 (#41).  Papers are DCWV - Winter Basics stack.  I added a cluster of flowers, navy blue organdy ribbon, and a few punched snowflakes which came from the Martha Stewart border punch I used.

Copics used: E04, E07, E31, E35, E53, E57, E59

Be sure to pop over to the challenge blog to see the rest of the team's Winter Blues creations.  And maybe play along for your chance to win!

I was beyond thrilled when I was asked to step into the role!  Thank you Elena, Kenny, and Tammy for this fabulous opportunity!  In case you didn't see the announcement post over on the KennyK's Krafty Krew blog, we have some new Krew members to welcome to the team!  Please pop over and say "hello" to Olivia, Rachelle, and Dawn as well as three of our Core4 who have gone full-time (Andy, Lucy, and Chrissy)!

Now on to that challenge post!  It's our first Anything Goes challenge of 2015 and today's twist is "You Are Special".  Use any KennyK image to play along for your chance to win 3 images of choice!  However, if you use the optional twist and you're our winner, your prize increases to 5 images!  Plus each of our Top 3 receives 1 image of choice for the distinction!

Saturated Canary Guest Designer Call

Hey there!  When I saw Krista post that she was having a Spring Guest Designer call on the Saturated Canary Facebook group I knew I wanted to create something to enter.  She offered five gorgeous images as a New Year's bundle and you had to use one of these images in order to apply.  You could submit up to three projects.  I managed to get two completed.

First up is May.  She is colored with Copics and matted on the Fleur De Lis Rectangles Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I opted for a non-traditional hair color which was a lot of fun!  I sprinkled a little Aged Rose Fran-Tage on my image panel and added lots of embellishments.  Flowers, Tim Holtz locket keys, Basic Grey wax seal and flair sticker all grace this beauty.  I utilized a few more dies and punches in the creation of this card as well: First Place Award Ribbon and Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics (My Favorite Things) and a Martha Stewart butterfly.  The papers are Basic Grey - True Love.  The sketch is the current Try Stampin' On Tuesday (#201).

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, YG91, YG93, YG95, R20, R27, R29, R46, R81, R83, R85, BG10, BG72, BG75

My next card features Tunes and Kayne has claimed this one as his Valentine's Day card.

This cutie was also colored with Copics.  I cut him out using Deckled Rectangles Large (Spellbinders).  I used it to cut a frame for the image as well.  I had an "accident" while coloring and a blob of ink from my YG11 plopped onto the card stock near his left headphone.  Rather than scrap the image I added a little golden aura around him.  The sketch is from Sketch Saturday (#343).  I used a chevron embossing folder from Darice for the top portion and the paper on the lower section is from the Generation Tech stack (DCWV).  The music note and treble clef are stickers from Me & My Big Ideas.  Both sentiments are from a My Favorite Things set called Document It - Rock On.  I cut one with the Fishtail Flags Stax (MFT) and the other with a Stampin' Up circle punch.  The little hearts came from the Martha Stewart border punch I used on the inside of the card.

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E31, E33, R20, N0, N2, N4, Y32, Y35, B00, B06, B32, B34, B37, YR00, YR02, YR15, YG11, YG13

I will be back tomorrow with another announcement and a new KennyK's Krafty Krew challenge!

- Crafty Sentiments: Girly (May card)
- Inky Chicks: #45-Anything Goes
- Papertake Weekly: It's All New (images)

Guest Designer for The Greeting Farm

Hello!  I mentioned that I had some fun news to share...  Well, this is the week I get to reveal it all!  First, I am tickled pink that I get to be the guest designer for The Greeting Farm this month!  I was so thrilled when Rosemary and Joni asked me to join them!  And who wouldn't be excited?!  Just look at the awesome images I get to play with!

Today's card features Dollie with Hearts.  She is super sweet and comes with several wonderful sentiments.  It's been a while since I stepped away from my digis and inked up a rubber stamp to color, but boy did it feel good!  Dollie is colored with Copics and cut using the Resplendent Rectangles Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I had a blast embellishing this card and really piled it on: flowers, pearl topped pins, pearls, wax seal sticker, Tim Holtz metal key and spinner, frame with drop pearl as well as several dies and punches (La-La-Land Crafts and Martha Stewart).  Papers are Authentique - Lovely.  My layout is based on Sweet Sketch Sunday (#251).

This will be a Valentine's Day card for someone.  It's never too early to start on those!  I put my decorations up today as Christmas finally came down and the house just felt empty without something.

Thanks for popping in to take a peek at my creation today!

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E70, E74, E79, R20, R35, R37, R39, R81, R83, R89, N0, N4, N8.

Weekend Crafter

Hi!  Just popping in to share a couple of cards I made this past weekend.  I used to have no trouble crafting during the week but ever since the small man started school in September it has been all I can do to get through the dinner/dishes/homework/bath time/story time/bed time/laundry routine before collapsing in exhaustion on the couch!  So I'm now the weekend crafter.

This first card was made for my co-worker's birthday.  Belatedly, since her special day fell shortly after Christmas and I was still recovering from holiday overload.  She has horses so I knew that this image from Saturated Canary was perfect.  She's called Equestrian Girl and I've colored her up with Copics and matted her with the Romantic Rectangles Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  Papers are Creative Imaginations - These Boots from the Debbie Mumm Buckaroo Collection.  I added a Tim Holtz metal buckle, some flowers, and a few pearls.  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up and is cut with the Classic Circles Nestabilities (Spellbinders).

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E23, E25, E27, E31, E50, E53, Y28, Y32, Y35, YR02, YR04, YR07, G09, B02, R20, R32, R81, R83

The next two creations were a custom order.  These were a bit of a challenge for me because I don't practice my darker skin tones as often as I should, but in the end I was happy with how they turned out.  For the birthday card I used another Saturated Canary image.  This is one of Krista's older ones. Suzy Hollywood.  I colored her with Copics and cut her using the Lacy Ovals Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  Papers are My Mind's Eye.  I added a flower, rhinestones, a Tim Holtz metal corner, and the recipient's name using glitter chipboard letters.  The sentiment is from a My Favorite Things set called You Take The Cake.  Sketch is Sketchy Colors (#239).

Copics used: E23, E25, E31, E33, E35, E37, E51, E53, E55, R32, R37, R39, N0, N2, N4, N6, N8, BG10, BG72

And this Valentine's Day card features The East Wind's Lucy Loo Mirrorball  Earring.  She is also colored with Copics and then I cut and matted her with the Resplendent Rectangles Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  Papers are Basic Grey - True Love.  I had fun embellishing this one!  I added a wax seal and a flair sticker that match the paper collection plus seam binding, flowers, pearls, and a Tim Holtz metal ornate frame.  The banner is cut with the Spellbinders Ribbon Banner die and I added gold glitter stickers to spell the recipient's name and "LV" (for Louis Vuitton).  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.  My layout is based on Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2's "blast from the past" sketch posted December 31st, but unfortunately I missed the link up deadline.

Copics used: E23, E25, E27, E31, E33, E35, E37, E53, R27, R29, R32, R37, R39, R89, N0, N2, N4, N6, N8

This month is shaping up to be busier, crafting wise, than I anticipated so you'll be seeing more of me from here on out.  And there will be a couple of big*ish* announcements to share with you next week!  So stay tuned....!

The Corrosive Challenge #215 - Shiny and New

Happy 2015!  I hope everyone's new year is off to a fabulous start!  I have already managed to finish reading my first book and make my first card of the year so I'd say mine is right on track so far!  Welcome to the first Corrosive Challenge of the year!  We are so very happy to have one of my very favorite artists back as our sponsor: Aurora Wings and the fantasy art of Mitzi Sato-Wiuff!  Mitiz has generously provided the design team with images to work with and is offering a $15 gift voucher to her shop for our winner!

Our theme this fortnight is "Shiny and New".  There's a little wiggle room with this one.  You can make a project for something new (marriage, baby, new job, new house, etc) OR you may use something new on your creation OR you can add something shiny to your make.  (Or any combination of these options works for us as well.)  I selected Anti-Valentine's Girl and decided to make a divorce card with her.  I know...  Divorce isn't something that we typically "celebrate", but sometimes the new beginning it gives us is just what we need, whether we realize it or not.  So when life hands you lemons, make lemonade.  Or, at the very least, open your mailbox to a handmade card from someone who's been there, done that, and is thinking of you!

Mitzi's gorgeous image is colored with Copics and cut using Classic Squares Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  The image panel is matted on Beaded Squares Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I am all about the "shiny" with my bling and the glaze on the heart.  My "new" is the designer papers which are called Something Wonderful by Teresa Collins.  Santa left this lovely 6x6 pad in my stocking and this is the first time I've used it.  The unusual, yet perfect, sentiment is from a My Favorite Things set called Twisted Threesome.  My sketch is courtesy of Sketch Saturday (#342).  I used my favorite Martha Stewart Drippy Goo border punch too but you can't really see it when all my layers were added.

I hope you'll take a trip over to the blog to see what my teammates created and maybe play along while you're there!  I also hope you're enjoying your weekend!  We got some snow and ice last night so today seems like a great day to stay cozy at home.  I should probably take down these Christmas decorations, but I think I'd rather spend it at my craft desk.  There's always next weekend to put the lights and baubles away...

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E50, E53, R20, R22, R24, R32, R43, R46, Y32, Y35, N0, N2, N4, N6, BG01, BG10, BG13, BG72, BG75).
