Sunday means another Corrosive Challenge, and I'm here with all the details before I get busy enjoying what is left of my weekend. This week it's time to get sketchy, and we have a wonderful layout for you! I use an image called Bubble Leah from Whimsie Doodles, one of our sponsors this month. When my friend and co-worker asked me to make her a birthday card to give her husband on his 30th birthday I knew IMMEDIATELY what image I wanted to use! And so I e-mailed Ms Victoria Case and requested to purchase the sexy bar maid Heidi image you see above! And I have to say this card was SO much fun to make! I used the July sketch from the Dude Time Doodles Challenge as my layout. As you may have gathered from their name, they require that the card be for a man in order to participate in their challenges. Well, I can't think of anything guys love more than the "b" word. Beer, of course. What were YOU thinking?!?! They don't mandate that you use their images (hence I was able to enter), but it is encouraged.
Heidi was colored using Copics and Prismacolor Art Markers and then cut out with my Labels Nine Nesties die. I sponged the edges a bit, added an antique brad from Stampin' Up, a couple of rhinestone flourishes, some Liquid Applique to the beer foam, and glossy accents to the beer glass, and Heidi was ready to serve up some frosty birthday greetings! Both sentiments (front and inside) are computer generated.

Hello and welcome to a new Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge AND a preview of one of the fabulous new images being released next week! This is Lil Little Lolita Lilith. We all know and love the Lolitas and Lads and now we get to see them when they were a bit younger. There are six images in all and they will be available on July 12th!
The challenge this week is to Use a Doily. I incorporated mine as an element in the sketch I chose from Create4Fun.

Happy 4th of July!!! Another quick post to let you know about a Sassy Studio Designs sponsorship that begins today! We are sponsoring Craft Your Passion and it's an easy Anything Goes challenge. It's Christmas in July over at Tickled Pink Stamp Challenges! A new month means a new holiday challenge and this time it's Anything Goes for Challenge #5. We are changing the challenge timing a bit, though, and it will now begin on the 1st Tuesday of the month (which is actually the 1st Monday here in the US due to the time difference). All the rest of the rules remain the same - you MUST use a Tickled Pink Stamps image to participate (these include the Lil Lads and Lil Lolitas, Lil Pinkettes, Pink Pets, and Cherrie) and you have until the end of the month to play along. Plus we'll be reminding you mid-month with some more fabulous samples from the design team so you don't forget! My card uses Lil Christmas Lad Luca. He reminds me so much of Ebenezer Scrooge! And so that it where I got the "time" concept from since Scrooge was shown his past, present, and future Christmases. Tim Holtz is the man when it comes to hardware and I have loaded this card up with it! The timepiece, game spinners, word stick, and sprocket gear are all from his collection. The paper is Ski Slope designer series paper from Stampin' Up that I've had for years, have used sparingly, and absolutely love! The sketch is from a fantastic new blog I found called Deconstructing Jen. This is The Deconstructed Sketch 8 (DS8).
Today is the 4th of July here in the US. So that means a day off from work for me! I get to spend it with my small man and I'm not sure what we'll get up to. Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!!! That means it's time for another Corrosive Challenge! This week for challenge #123 we want to see Red and White creations. You are allowed to use one other neutral color, but the main colors of your project need to be red and white. It's the first challenge of a new month so we have new sponsors and new prizes! Mine is a birthday card for a very special friend of mine, J! She is as fun and as sweet as they come and much to my delight she took an interest and a liking to my beloved hobby. She is innately artistic so has just flourished with the craft! Her card had to be unique and fabulous, just like her, so I selected one of the Sweet November Zodiac images that I purchased some time ago and had yet to use. (Actually, I won this image in rubber along with a gorgeous card from the wonderful Amy Y when they were first released, but I bought the digi too since I tend to use them more.) This image is, of course, Cancer - the zodiac sign for those born between June 22nd and July 22nd. I thought that would work nicely with the red and white color scheme. I used one piece of designer paper from a pad purchased for $5 at Big Lots. I never would have thought to shop there for crafting supplies, but J shared her bargain finds with me and sent me scurrying for deals of my own! The pearl swirls are also from the same store. Some Prima flowers and a Die-namic from My Favorite Things finish it off nicely. The sketch is SSS115, courtesy of The Sweet Stop.
We are in the middle of 4th of July weekend here so I will be heading off to a cookout at a friend's later on today. They are predicting possible thunderstorms, but I hope they are wrong as she has a pool, and I can't wait to take my small man "swimming". He's not yet 2, but if he's anything like his momma he'll be the kid always in the pool whenever he has the chance!

Happy July 4th weekend!!! While some are thinking about fun in the sun, here at Sassy Studio Designs we are thinking about the holidays! Holiday cards to be more specific! It's the first of a new month and that means the start of a new Sassy Christmas Challenge over on the Sassy Studio Designs blog! And do we have a fun theme for you this month, Challenge #4! We want you to use a NON-holiday image to create a holiday project!
My card uses the Victorian Beauty image. Her attire reminded me of those vintage Victorian Christmas scenes you see. I kept my lay out pretty simple and it is all my own design (no sketch here today). I inked up Stampin' Up's Christmas Collage in Old Olive and colored parts of it with Copics and Prismacolor Art markers. I then layered it on top of a partially embossed piece of Riding Hood Red card stock, added lace, pearls, a Tim Holtz corner, a poinsettia flower and my sentiment. The whole thing was then adhered to a 5x7 card made from Old Olive card stock. I was pretty pleased with the results, and it was definitely fun to think outside the box!
