Beach Pretty and Sweet Shack

Hi there!  Summer is just chugging along here and before we know it the kids will be back in school and then crisp Fall air will turn our thoughts to apples and pumpkins and falling leaves...  But not quite yet.  In the meantime, we still have some warm days ahead (right now we are in an uncomfortably hot, humid streak)!  We did a beach weekend last week and it was perfect, though!  But boy did I wish I looked like this in my bathing suit!

This is Beach Pretty from Saturated Canary.  She is colored with Copics and cut using Resplendent Rectangles Nestabilities (Spellbinders).

This was a custom make for a retirement.  The theme was inspired by the recipient's chosen retirement location and love of flip flops.  I used a few of my La-La-Land dies, of course!  Featured here are Sunburst, Lighthouse, Shell Border, Wave Border, Diamond Wire, and Large Lacy Border. The flip flops are from Surf's Up Shapeabilities (Spellbinders).  I embellished with a metal Compass and Game Spinner (Tim Holtz) as well as lace, cheesecloth, a flower, and pearls from my stash.  The little bottle that I filled with glitter is also Tim Holtz.  The sentiment is from LLLC's June 2015 kit, but you can get it now with Summer Fun Marci.  It is cut using the Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics from My Favorite Things.

I still can't quite believe that Krista will be closing the Saturated Canary shop at the end of the month!  But the good news is fans can sign up for a year's subscription to continue getting new SC digis through September 2017 (click HERE to read all about it)!  I own a ridiculous amount of Krista's images, but I love them all and hope to continue using them for years to comeThis one features Sweet Shack from Saturated Canary.  I made it for my co-worker who recently closed on her very first house!  The image is colored with Copics and cut using Classic Circles Nestabilities (Spellbinders).

I used Open Leaf Flourish, Heart Banner, Lattice Border, Open Hearts Doily Border, and Heart Fan dies from La-La-Land Crafts.  The picket fence is My Favorite Things and the butterfly and grass border are Martha Stewart punches.  The flower ribbon, flowers, rhinestone flourish, and Tim Holtz metal Word Key are all from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by and stay cool!

KennyK Stamps August Freebies

Hello!  Welcome to August!  It's my birthday month so Elena from KennyK Stamps asked me to select the freebies this time around!  I chose Rock Chick and Cute Lion!  I think they sum me up pretty well!

How do you get these free digis, you ask?  Well, you can get them by signing up for the monthly KennyK Stamps newsletter AND by joining our Facebook group, Club KennyK!  There is a newsletter freebie every month and either a freebie or a Dollar Deal at the Club!  You can't beat it!  And did I mention that there is challenge, too?  Until August 14th you can enter any coloring of or creations made with these two images for a chance to win!  You MUST use one of this month's freebies (Rock Chick or Cute Lion).  The theme is Anything Goes.  Our winner will receive 5 digis of choice while our Top 3 will get one digi each for the honor!  Visit Club KennyK on Facebook and refer to the pinned post at the top for all the details!

I was so excited that I made cards with both of them!  Let's start with Rock Chick.

She is colored with Copics, fussy cut, and popped up on foam squares.  Per usual, I used a boatload of dies!  I couldn't stop myself...  I just kept piling them on!  Here you fill find Wings Set, Filigree Crown, Open Hearts Doily Border, Hearts Doily Border, and Heart Fan (La-La-Land Crafts); Tim Holtz Star Cluster Border (Sizzix); Accent It Rock & Roll and Cassette Tape Die-namics (My Favorite Things); and Virtuoso Music (Memory Box).  I used a coordinating My Favorite Things stamp set on the tape.  It's called Journal It - Playlist. And the sentiment (which was perfect) is a $1 Michaels impulse buy find!  The papers and flowers are from my stash.

Next is Cute Lion.  I picked him because of my Zodiac sign - I'm a Leo!

I'm going to give him to my co-worker whose birthday is the day after mine.  The image is colored with Copics.  I then stamped Itty Bitty Backgrounds (Stampin' Up) around the edges in Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink (Ranger) and Momento's Rich Cocoa ink.  I also sprinkled on some Shabby White Fran-Tage and heat set it.  The dies I used here are Tim Holtz Picture Wheel (Sizzix); Happy Birthday and Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics (My Favorite Things); and Castle Border, Bricks, and Jungle Vines (La-La-Land Crafts).  The papers are from my stash and I added a Tim Holtz metal compass coin and game spinner.

I spent all day yesterday crafting on a rainy Summer Sunday and it was perfect!  I had a lot of fun coloring these two!

Don't forget to visit KennyK Stamps on the web and on Facebook to make sure you don't miss a single monthly freebie or deal!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a fabulous day!

Club KennyK 1000 Member Celebration

Hello!  This weekend over at KennyK Stamps' Facebook group, Club KennyK, we are celebrating reaching 1000 members!  When we launched in January we never imagined how fast we would grow in just 6 months!  To show all our fans how much we appreciate them we are hosting a weekend full of fun and prizes!  We've got a coloring party happening, and there may even be a fabulous coupon code for members so if you haven't joined, now's the time!

I wanted to show off a card I made using one of KennyK's awesome dude images!  This is Need for Speed!

I made this card for a co-worker who left for another job.  I work at a luxury car dealership and he was our "product concierge" meaning he helped people with all he technology in their cars.  Hence the Smart Phone die (My Favorite Things).  I colored the image with Copics and cut him using Classic Circles Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I then matted the image with Cogs Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  Other dies on the card include Stitched Bracket Border, Steampunk Border, and Steampunk Heart Cogs (La-La-Land Crafts); Skyline (My Favorite Things); and Tim Holtz's Weathered Clock Bigz die (Sizzix).  The sentiment is a rubber stamp from my stash, one of those impulse buy ones from Michaels, I believe.

I hope you'll join us over in da Club!

KennyK's Angels

Hi there!  The 15th of the month means it's new release day for KennyK Stamps!  We have some ethereal beauties to share with you today.  And with so much darkness in the headlines lately, I think we could all use a little light.  Introducing KennyK's Angels: Aurora, Seraphina, and Nevaeh.  These gorgeous Christmas Angels are available today at KennyK Stamps!

There is a brand new challenge over at the Club KennyK Facebook group.  It's Anything Goes with an optional twist of "Christmas in July".  I chose to color Nevaeh.  She is done using Copics, fussy cut, and popped up on foam squares.  I added clear Wink of Stella to her wings.

I've used a lot of dies here once again.  From La-La-Land Crafts: Filigree Border, Filigree Moon, Filigree Stars, Open Leaf Flourish, and Hello Tag.  From Memory Box: Frostyville Border.  From Hot Off the Press: Feather.  From Magnolia: Viewmaster Doo-hickey.  From Sizzix: Tim Holtz Weathered Clock Bigz die.  The snowflakes are a Martha Stewart punch.  The flowers, resin frame, lace, and sentiment came from my crafty stash.

Be sure to pop over to Facebook to see what the rest of the Krew and our fabulous guest designers have created with these lovelies!

Have a wonderful Friday!

Sweet Ingredients

Hello!  I hope everyone is having a nice weekend!  It's been a bit of a washout here so our plans for the lake were put on hold and we ended up just relaxing around the house.  It's just as well since I'm fighting a Summer cold.  I thought I'd take a time out from lounging to share a card with you, though!

I use my La-La-Land Crafts dies all the time, but what about their adorable images?!?!  I have decided that my crafting needs some rejuvenating.  This means I need to use more of a variety from the companies I love, and maybe add some new ones to my repertoire as well!  So I colored Baker Marci from the December 2015 Club Kit.  Then I fussy cut her and utilized foam squares to pop her up on my card.  I used the Ric Rack die from the kit as well plus three other LLLC dies: Loopy Doily, Lattice Doily Border, and Scallop Border.  The metal spoon is from Tim Holtz and flowers are from my stash.

This was a birthday card for my co-worker.  She loves to bake and makes us tasty treats twice a week!  We thought she deserved a treat of her own on her special day so delivered this card and a cake!

I wonder what company I'll craft with next....

Jedi Mind Tricks

Happy 4th of July!  Sadly, I don't have anything patriotic to share, but I do have a couple of cute Saturated Canary creations to show off!  We went to a birthday party last weekend for brothers.  Like most boys my son's age, they like video games so I colored up the custom SC image Krista drew for me called Gamer.  Twice!

Darth Vader made an appearance at their party so I used the original version with the lightsaber poster in the background.  I was lucky enough to find some Star Wars themed paper at Joann craft store a while back so I used a sheet with Storm Troopers on it here.

I cut the images using Classic Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders) and framed them with Sprightly Sprockets (Spellbinders).  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up and is cut using Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics (My Favorite Things).  The Game Controller is also from MFT. (Boy, were all those little buttons a challenge!)  Star Cluster border is from Tim Holtz (Sizzix) and the rest of the dies are La-La-Land Crafts: Steampunk Border, Steampunk Heart Cogs, Diamond Lattice Border, and Moon and Stars Banner.

In keeping with the theme of video games, their gift was a Lego Dimensions pack.

It's a gorgeous day here, but I think we'll just be hanging out at home.  The small man is (surprise, surprise!) playing Xbox!  Maybe I'll get some crafting done....

2015 Catch Up

Hi!  I have a bunch of miscellaneous birthday cards made in 2015 that I have yet to share so let's get to it!

This first card was for my mom's birthday last year.  I was pressed for time and didn't want to color an image.  It's rare I make a card without coloring involved, but this was one of those times.  I used the Tim Holtz Bigz Sewing Room die (Sizzix).  The border punch is from Martha Stewart.

Next is a card I made for a co-worker's birthday.  I colored Birthday Wishes from Redonkadoodles.  The image is cut with Labels Two Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I also added Lattice Border and Scalloped Banner dies (La-La-Land Crafts), Balloon punch (Martha Stewart), and a stamped sentiment from Stampin' Up cut with one of their circle punches.  Bakers twine, pearls, a metal flourish, and a few flowers finish off this creation.

And here is a card for one of Kayne's friends.  I colored My Super Boy from Tiddly Inks then fussy cut him and used foam squares to pop him up on a designer paper background.  The City Skyline and Happy Birthday dies are from My Favorite Things.  The star is from Stars Five Nestabilities (Spellbinder) and the star border is a Martha Stewart punch.

This next project was a combination birthday and new home card for a co-worker.  I colored this cute little house from Waltzingmouse Stamps' A Cottage Home set then I loaded it with dies!  Here I've used Lattice Border, Hot Air Balloon, Street Lamp, and Wrought Iron Fence (La-La-Land Crafts) as well as

Another co-worker birthday prompted this masculine card using Stampin' Up's Classic Convertibles stamp set.  No coloring needed, just a bunch of fun dies including Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics (My Favorite Things) and Flag Banner and Steampunk Border (La-La-Land Crafts).

Here is Kayne's birthday card from last year.  His party theme was Batman so I found a coloring page online to use for his card.  He is colored with Copics and fussy cut.  The City Skyline Die-namic is from My Favorite Things, the big bat die cut is from Spellbinders and the border is a Martha Stewart punch.  I created the Bat Signal with a printable file purchased online.  The chevron paper was also a purchased digital file.

Another birthday card with no coloring!  (I did stamp the sentiment, though.)  This was made using My Favorite Things Stamps Game Controller Die-namics.  The sentiment is from their coordinating Level Up stamp set.  The other dies used are Lattice Border and Lattice Doily Border (La-La-Land Crafts).

This was a birthday card for another one of Kayne's little friends.  I colored Little Captain Oscar from Simply B Stamps' Jude and the Rockers Little Heroes collection.  He's colored with Copics and cut using Labels Nestabilities Four (Spellbinders).  Also from Spellbinders is the Star Circle and Stars Five Nestabilities.  The star border is a Martha Stewart punch and the film strip is from Tim Holtz.  The Lattice Doily Border is La-La-Land Crafts.

Another co-worker's birthday card.  I got a little sassy with this one.  The image is KennyK Stamps' Cheers Dude and he's colored with Copics.  The sentiment is from 7Gypsies (Hampton Art).  The die is Stitched Bracket Border (La-La-Land Crafts).

And finally, a CAS card featuring KennyK Stamps' Hockey.  He was colored with Copics and fussy cut.  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up.
