Dare To Be Sassy Thursday #75 - No Patterned Paper

It's Thursday which means another Sassy Studio Designs Dare To Be Sassy Thursday! Challenge #75 says NO patterned paper allowed! I nearly had a panic attack when I saw this! No designer paper with pretty color coordinated prints to help me with the creation of my card?! What was I going to do? So I thought back to what I used before I had a burgeoning stash of patterned paper and decided background stamps and dry embossing were the way to go. My image is Goldilocks Honey from Sassy Studio Designs' Fairy Tale collection. Isn't she sweet (and sassy)?! I used the "fancy" version of this week's priscillastyles Midnight Madness sketch (MMSC106) as my starting point and went from there. I have to say, it was kind of refreshing to go without the designer paper for once. Not that I'll make a habit of this, of course... lol But it's nice to know I can still do it!

If you'd like to play along for your chance to win two Sassy Studio Designs images of your choice, all you have to do is link your project here before next Wednesday evening. We will also be using the DTBST challenges to select our monthly guest designers going forward. If you would like to be considered simply use a SSD image to create your project and add "GDT" after your name when you link it. The winner will be chosen after the completion of the 3rd weekly challenge. We hope to see lots of you participating! Happy crafting!

Thanks for stopping by! Have an amazing day!

Blog-iversary Candy Winner!!!

Hello, crafty bloggers! It has been a crazy afternoon and evening here! The state I live in was hit with at least 3 confirmed tornadoes! We never get this kind of weather so this is unprecedented! The governor has declared a state of emergency! Luckily, where I live was not affected by anything stronger than a severe thunderstorm, but my heart goes out to those who were! It makes you think, though... I will most certainly be putting together an emergency kit and plan. I have my small man's well-being to think of after all! I am all out of sorts now, as my night did not go remotely as planned! I have cards to make, but I am getting a awfully late start here.

I did, however, want to get the post up for the blog-iversary blog candy winner! I used random.org to generate a random sequence and the 1st # on the list is my winner!

Congrats to #49 - Ginger!!!
You are the lucky winner of all those goodies! Please email me at charmed_stamping(at)charter(dot)net with all your details so I can get your package out to you!

Thanks to all who entered and became followers! I hope you will stay and visit occasionally too! I'm only a few followers away from 100 followers... That may require some candy too! :- )

Sassy Christmas Challenge #3 - Oh Christmas Tree

It's June which means it's time for another Sassy Christmas Challenge from Sassy Studio Designs! #3 in our series this year is "Oh Christmas Tree". All you need to do to play along is create a project that features a Christmas tree on it somewhere. It could be your image, your designer paper, an embossing folder, or embellishments. Use your creativity and imagination and show us what you've got!

I have used an image from Sassy Studio Designs called Trimming the Tree (You can buy her over at the SSD shop. She can be found here in the Sassy Holiday collection.). I also have used some Basic Grey papers from the Figgy Pudding collection called Forest. Both were perfect for this challenge. My layout is sketch MOJO193 from Mojo Monday. This week was a round or square choice, but I opted for square.

I hope you will play along! I am going to have a nice stash of hand-made holiday cards by the end of the year! This is a such a fun way to get them done without all the added stress at the end of the year. And you could win 2 Sassy Studio Design images in the process!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Tickled Pink Stamps Christmas Challenge #4 - Handmade

I am really getting a fabulous head start on my holiday cards this year! These monthly challenges are fantastic motivation! I say I am going to do this every year and then, inevitably, come December I am freaking out trying to figure out how to get them all done. The past two years I didn't even try... I just used the small man as an excuse to send photo cards! lol I'm sure I will continue to do that, but it's nice that I'll be able to send handmade ones too this year.

Today I am here with my guest design team post for Tickled Pink Stamps Christmas Challenge #4. The theme for the month of June is Handmade. It can be anything you crafted, designed or created personally. It can be hand-crafted embellishments or an origianal template... We leave that decision up to you and can't wait wait to see what unique ideas you come up with. I chose to use my Die-namic mini rolled roses die to make flowers for my card. I also used a Martha Stewart punch and Classic Circle Nesties to create the peppermint candies out of red sparkle cardstock backed with plain white. The branches are also punched.

I selected Lil Christmas Willow as my image. She was a perfect match with her candy canes for my peppermint themed paper and punched candies. I had a lot of fun coloring her, but I think it's time for a new white gel pen. Mine was a little difficult about coverage. My layout is the May sketch (#36) from CLP, which I am hoping to squeeze in before the deadline.

If you'd like to play along, visit the Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge blog here! There is a special page just for the Christmas challenges and you will see a link to it at the top of the page. You have all month to post your project. The only requirements are that you use an image from one of the TPS lines that can be purchased here and which include:
  • Lil Lolitas and Lil Lads
  • Pinkettes
  • Pink Pets
  • Cherrie
and that you follow the challenge theme.

I hope you enjoyed my creation! I will be back a few times this week as I have another holiday challenge to post plus more design team creations to share! Thanks for stopping by and hope you'll peek in again from time to time! Have a fabulous day!

Mojo Monday 192

Just a quick 2nd post to share this card that I made for the current Mojo Monday challenge. Sketch 192 was too pretty to pass up. My creation was a request from the IT guy where I work.... It's for his wife on her 50th birthday. He told me she loves Tiffany & Co and likes to read so I combined the signature Tiffany's blue with an image of books. I think the designer paper is gorgeous and just makes the card! It's from The Blossom Song stack by DCWV.

Thanks for taking a peek and hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day weekend so far! I think today will be a lazy day for us... a little shopping and hopefully some crafting too. After I venture out for my iced coffee, of course! Have a fabulous day!

The Corrosive Challenge #118 - Oh Christmas Tree

It is never too early to start thinking about Christmas cards.... So what if it's only Memorial Day weekend! At The Corrosive Challenge we believe in getting a head start so this week's theme for challenge #118 is Oh Christmas Tree and it's all about the holidays. If you check out the wonderful creations from the rest of the talented Corrosive design team you will see that most of us took it literally and our projects have trees somewhere on them. I chose an adorable image from Mo's Digital Pencil entitled "Cat's in the Christmas Tree". I'm sure there are cat owners out there nodding knowingly right now. lol My layout is SSS110 from The Sweet Stop.

It is a little odd to be coloring a Christmas tree while the weather is hot & humid and cook outs and swimming are planned activities, but it will mean less stress at the end of the year and I'm all for that!

I will have a few more holiday cards for you this week as the monthly challenges kick off plus tomorrow is my one year blog-iversary! I am very excited about what I have accomplished in that time! And I want to thank you for accompanying me for the ride! Thanks for looking and if blogger will let you, leave a comment to let me know you've visited. I read and value each and every one!
