KennyK Catch Up

Hello!  Happy Memorial Day weekend!  How is everyone in blogland?  Yes, I'm still alive and kicking.  And crafting!  I'm just not blogging or sharing online like I used to.  There's only so much time in the day and well, something is bound to get put on the back burner.  Or in the freezer.  Anyway...  Now that I've spent the last hour trying to hack my way back into blogger because it's been so long since I've signed on that I had forgotten my user name and password, let me make it worth our while and share a few cards with you!  As you may recall, I'm on the KennyK Stamps design team so let's start there.

First up, a birthday card for one of Kayne's friends.  This one features Batter Up.  The image is colored with Copics, fussy cut, and popped up on foam squares.  The recipient is a Yankees fan so I used a real baseball card of Derek Jeter as well as a baseball themed sticker on the project.  A few La-La-Land Crafts dies were used as well (Diamond Wire, Stitched Bracket Border, and Flag Banner).

Next up is a card I made for a co-workers birthday.  Jasmine seemed like the perfect image to color up with my Copics for her.  I cut her out using Deckled Rectangles Nestabilities from Spellbinders, I added some stamped detail to the image panel and a bit of Shabby White Fran-tage.  I embellished with an embossed "metal" plate, a metal gear and photo corner (Tim Holtz), flowers, and a rhinestone flourish.  The gears at the top are the Steampunk Border from La-La-Land Crafts.

Another card for a coworker used Policeman.  He's also colored with Copics and fussy cut.  An embossed "brick" wall provided his backdrop.  As usual this creation features a few dies: Star Cluster (Sizzix Tim Holtz On the Edge), Diamond Wire (La-La-Land Crafts), Classic Rectangles Nestabilities (Spellbinders), and Jumbo Fishtail Banner Stax Die-namics (My Favorite Things).

Lastly, one final co-worker creation.  This time it's a birthday card featuring Basketball.  Once I again I colored with Copics and fussy cut.  The star border is a Martha Stewart punch and the dies I used are from La-La-Land Crafts (Diamond Wire and Birthday Flag) and My Favorite Things (Skyline Border Die-namics).  The clip is Tim Holtz.

There are more cards yet to be blogged, but that's all for this post.  It's hard to believe that tomorrow is my 6th blogiversary!  Where does the time go?!?!  I hope you're all enjoying your weekend!  One more day to go here in the US.  It's the unofficial kickoff to Summer and a day to remember all those who have given their lives in the service of our military.  "May we never forget our freedom isn't free..."

Introducing KennyK Stamps' The Rockits

Helloooo!  Yes, I'm still alive!  Life has just been keeping me busy, and sometimes something has to be moved to the back burner.  For me it's been posting my cards online.  Oh, I'm still creating, but with all the things on my To Do List these days I seemed to have forgotten some of the joy of papercrafting comes from sharing projects with others.  So here I am.

KennyK Stamps has a SUPER new release available today!  Meet The Rockits - an awesome family of superheroes!  There's Danger Dad, Mighty Mom, son Kwick Silver, daughter Kourageous Kandy, and Baby Kaboom!  And we can't forget the pets.... Dynamite Dog and Kinetic Kitty!  Plus there are four fantastic backgrounds and a multitude of superhero worthy sentiments!  Visit the KennyK Stamps shop to see (and buy) them all!

There is a new challenge going live today over at Club KennyK, our Facebook group.  It's always Anything Goes, but our optional theme is "Create A Scene".  I have two cards to share with you today.  They were made for twin classmates of Kayne's whose birthday party we attended this past weekend.  I used Kwick Silver with Brick Wall Smash background and Kourageous Kandy.

As you can see, I have also used a few of my beloved La-La-Land Crafts dies!  I just love the skyline, bursts, and arrows!  They are so much fun and perfect for both the release and the challenge themes!

Club KennyK Challenge #1 - Anything Goes

Hello!  I know I have been very bad about blogging my creations, but I'm hoping to get back in the swing of things!  Today I'm here to share my card for the inaugural Club KennyK Facebook group challenge!  Our theme is Anything Goes and the team is featuring some of KennyK Stamps awesome clear stamps

I opted to work with Soccer.  He colored with Copics and cut with Labels Seventeen Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I used another Spellbinders die (Stars Five) and a few of my La-La-Land Craft dies as well (Stitched Bracket Border, Fancy Doily Border, and Flag Banner).  The sentiment is actually from the KennyK Soccer Girl clear stamp set and is cut with my Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics (My Favorite Things).  Designer paper is Champs (Me & My Big Ideas), and my only embellishments are a paper straw and a couple of buttons.

We hope you'll play along!  All you have to do is join the group and add a new creation to the challenge photo album.  The prize is 2 clear stamp sets OR 5 digis of choice!  PLUS a Top 3 selected by the design team will each receive one digi of their choice!  You have until January 30th.   Remember: you MUST use a KennyK digi or clear stamp!

Come join us on Facebook for challenges, contests, freebies, discounts, and more!  Chat with the Krafty Krew and meet other Club Kids!  And most importantly of all, ROCK YOUR CRAFTS!

Here are two recent KennyK creations that I never had a chance to share.  The first was a Christmas card for Kayne's teacher and it features the image Dancing Reindeer.  They are colored with Copics.  I used a couple of La-La-Land Crafts dies (Lattice Doily Border and Lattice Border) as well as one from My Favorite Things (Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics) and a Martha Stewart border punch (Ornaments).  Flowers and Santa's Workshop sign are from my stash,

The second was made for a coworker's birthday using Boy Snowboarder.  He is also colored with Copics.  I used a Snowflake border die from La-La-Land Crafts (available only to their club members), Dizzy Doily from My Favorite Things, and a few punches (Icicles border and snowflake from Martha Stewart and mitten from Stampin' Up).

Happy Birthday, KennyK!

Today someone special is celebrating a milestone birthday...  The awesome and talented KennyK has hit the half century mark!  The BIG 5-0!  Naturally we, the Krew part of KennyK's Krafty Krew, could not let this day go by without fanfare and fuss!  So we decided to surprise Kenny with a blog hop in his honor!  We wanted him to know that we consider ourselves SO lucky to be a part of his team and to get to work with all of his amazing images!

Visit each Krew members blog and leave a comment!  Then visit KennyK's Krafty Krew and leave some birthday wishes for the man himself, KennyK!  One lucky participant who has visited every blog will be selected for a special prize from our fabulous DT Coordinator (that's me)!  You have until September 25th to hop along!

I used Rock Dude from the Rock Squad collection over at KennyKdownloads for Kenny's card.  I colored him with Copics and cut using Labels One Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I selected a black and white zebra print paper (Canvas Corp) and used a pop of red with it.  I love when I get the chance to use the Accent It - Rock and Roll Die-namics (My Favorite Things)!  Here I incorporated the flames, star, guitar, and guitar pick.  The Steampunk border, Diamond Wire, and Wrought Iron Fence are all from La-La-Land Crafts.  Virtuoso Music from Memory Box was also used.  I added a Crossbones metal embellishment (Tim Holtz) and used glitter sticker alphabet and numbers to personalize the card.  The circle sentiment is from a Stampin' Up set called Circle of Friendship.

Happy 50th, KennyK!!!  Hope you have a rockin' day!!!

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E23, E31, E79, R20, R35, R37, R39, R89, Y28, B32, B34

Baby Makes Three

Hi again!  Happy Labor Day!  I know the month has only just started, but I am already dreading the end of September simply because it will be the end of my time with Saturated Canary as a guest designer!  This has been an amazing experience and Krista is so wonderful to work with!  I have another card to share today with one of her cuties!  My friend and her husband recently had a lovely little miracle and I wanted a very special baby card for them.  I colored up Close To My Heart with my Copics and cut them using Romantic Rectangles Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I layered on a few more dies from my collection as well: Scallop Border, Lattice Doily Border, and Filigree Crown (La-La-Land Crafts) as well as Hearts (My Favorite Things).  I then added some baby themed items from my stash, a metal corner, crystal pins, flowers, and rhinestone gems.  Papers are also from my stash.

It's supposed to be a warm one here today so I think we may just crank up the AC and chill at home.  I'm really hoping to get some crafting, reading, and movie watching accomplished!  Busy day, right?  I hope that however you spend yours it is fabulous!

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E23, E50, E51, E70, E74, E79, Y32, RV10, RV19, RV34, YG06, YG11, YG13, YR00, YR02, YR04

Back to School

Summer can't be over already?!?!  But alas, it is!  School has begun and  it's Labor Day weekend, the unofficial end of Summer.  We seem to be settling back into the routine just fine, and I look forward to Fall, but I'm just not ready for my small man to be getting so big!  He is a 1st grader now and it seems like just yesterday that he only a promise I had yet to meet.

I like to create traditions for important days so last year I made him card and special breakfast for his first day of school.  I decided it would be an annual thing, something to look forward to that added a bit of fun and lots of love to a day that can be scary (or at least nervous butterfly inducing).  This year I used Back To School Luka from La-La-Land Crafts on his card.  He is colored with Copics and fussy cut.  I also used a couple of LLLC dies - Open Hearts Border, Hearts Doily Border, and Heart Banner.  The notebook edge was made using a border punch.  I added a length of ruler ribbon, mini Scrabble tiles to spell out his name, two Tim Holtz metal embellishments (muse token and pin), a punched apple from Marth Stewart, and a couple of chipboard stickers from my stash.  Papers are DCWV - Grade School stack.

Breakfast was fresh cut strawberries and bananas, bacon, and an English muffin.  He is loving school and his teacher this year so we're off to a fantastic start!

I hope everyone has something fun planned for their weekend!  Anyone plan to spend it crafting?  Yeah, that's what I though!  Enjoy!

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E50, E51, E53, E55, E57, B32, B34, YG11, YG13, W4, W6, R20, R35, R37, R39, R89
