Hi! It's Labor Day here so no work for me! I've had a nice relaxing weekend where I was able to enjoy some time with the small man, do a little reading, AND get a bit of coloring and a couple of cards made. With the start of September, my thoughts automatically turn to Fall fun and my favorite holiday of the year, Halloween! Betty of Simply B Stamps has been drawing some wonderful images for her Facebook challenges and this time around she conjured up this sultry witch named Mercedes. I could not resist and had to play along! The theme was simple: use your favorite Halloween colors. Orange, black, and purple with just a tiny hint of florescent green were my choices. You can find all the details about the challenge HERE.
Mercedes is colored with Copics. I have to admit that this was somewhat of a challenge due to all her fine detail. I tried my hand at "differently hued" hair, and I'm not thrilled with the results, but maybe if I keep practicing it'll click. No sketch this time, but I really like this layout and may use it again. I matted the image on the Romantic Rectangles from Spellbinder and added a flourish (cut with the Leaf & Swirl Doohickey from Magnolia), flowers, pearls, and a black feather. The crow in the cage is a Jolee's Boutique embellishment. Papers are from the new The Spooky Stack by DCWV.
