You're Not Old, You're Vintage
Hey there! How is everyone's week going? I am already tired, and we're barely half way through! lol Sometimes I think I should go to bed earlier... But then when would I craft?!?!
Today I'm showing off the card I made for my aunt's birthday. We don't see her often, but every holiday she sends Kayne a card with $1 in it. He thinks it's awesome to get that happy mail so I thought we'd send her some back! I colored up The Paper Shelter's Vintage Seamstress for the occasion. My aunt sews and quilts so it's a perfect image. Also I like how well it paired with the 7gypsies (Hampton Arts) sentiment. The sentiment is cut using the Fishtails Flags Stax Die-namics from My Favorite Things. I then used oodles of sewing embellishments on this. I recently picked up the Tim Holtz Dress Form Bigz die (Sizzix) on clearance at Joann Fabrics. It also comes with the spool die that I wrapped baker's twine around. Plus there was a button die as well that I didn't use. I opted for real buttons instead. My Lovely View die from Little Darlings Stamps (made by Spellbinders) finally arrived and I couldn't wait to use it!!! Finally, I added a few flowers, a couple of pins, and a bit of measuring tape ribbon. Papers are Crate Paper - DIY Shop.
This was a fun one to make! The Paper Shelter has such adorable images! I really have the coloring bug lately and have found myself wishing I could just devote an entire day to it. No responsibilities, no cares. Just me and my Copics! I still need to make time for the fabulous Kit and Clowder classes too! Kayne asked me to color with him after work so we will be making masterpieces in his Angry Birds coloring books for sure! (But I will have several more cards to share with you this week so stay tuned!)
Have a fabulous day!
Markers used: Copics (E00, E11, E21, E31, E74, E79, Y28, Y35, R24, R27, R32, N0, N2, N4, N6, BG10, BG72).

Rain On Your Wedding Day
Hi! I'm just popping in to share a wedding card I made for my co-worker. He got married this weekend in the middle of a rain storm. Well, they do say rain on your wedding day is good luck. I colored Wedding Dance from KennyK with my Copics and cut the happy couple out using the Classic Circles Nestabilities. The doily behind them is French Pastry from Cheery Lynn Designs. Topping the card is the Heart Doily Border die from La-La-Land Crafts. I added flowers, a couple of flat back pearls, and some cheesecloth. The Mr. & Mrs. sentiment is from Stampin' Up (also cut with the Classic Circles Nestabilities) and the dum dum da dum sentiment is by Savvy Stamps (cut with Ribbon Banners by Spellbinders). Papers are from the DCWV Luxury Stack and the layout for the card is from Sketch N Stash (#137).
May is a busy card making month for me so I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot of me. Or very little! lol It could go either way! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and is ready to start a brand new week!
Markers used: Copics (E00, E11, E21, E31, E34, R02, R20, R24, R32, Y23, Y28, Y32, Y35, N0, N2, N4, N6, BG10, BG72).

The Corrosive Challenge #198 - Head Gear
Hello! It's time for another Corrosive Challenge! I'm afraid I've left my project to the absolute last minute so I am going to keep my post brief lest I fall asleep at the keyboard! Our sponsor this fortnight is Dilly Beans Stamps!
Megan Suarez is the owner and artist behind these fun and quirky images. She has generously offered 3 images of choice for our winner this month as well as generously provided the design team with images to work with. She has an amazing variety of cute & creepy, whimsical images so head over to her shop to check them out! You can find them over on Facebook too! Click HERE to join the group!
Our challenge this time around is "Head Gear"! By that we mean anything you put on your head! Hats, barrettes, bows, flowers... If your image has something on its noggin, you're in! Or think outside the box and WOW us with your creativity!
The image I chose to work with is called Day of the Dead Frida. I do love these big eye art gals! She is colored with Copics and fussy cut then matted on the Fleur de Lis Nestabilities from Spellbinders. I added mulberry paper flowers to her hair. The image has flowers drawn there but I thought it would be fun to give a little dimension. I added a tulle flower, a skull bottle cap, a Magnolia Doohickey flourish and a Martha Stewart punched butterfly. Paper is from the Midnight Magic stack from Recollections.
We said goodbye to our crafty friend, Linda Palmer, this week. She passed away suddenly on Monday, and I still can't quite believe that she will never be joining us for another challenge. I had never met Linda in real life, but she was a sweet woman who loved her family. She was always talking about her numerous children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They will feel her loss more acutely than her cyber friends in the crafting community, but we will all miss her. Linda, this post is dedicated to your memory! Thank you for sharing your talent with us, for being a wonderful design team member, and for all the sweet blog comments you always took the time to leave...
Pop over to The Corrosive Challenge blog to see what the rest of the has under their hats for you! Thanks for stopping by!

Hoppy Easter
Happy Easter! I hope the Bunny was good to everyone! We had a fun-filled day with family. I had a busy pre-holiday week of prep and card making so I'm just finally getting around to blogging my creations. My first card was for Kayne's day care provider. I've used a cutie from Saturated Canary called Easter Dress. She is colored with Copics and cut using Classic Circles Nestabilities (Spellbinders). Papers are from the DCWV Luxury Stack. I distressed the wrought iron fence (La-La-Land Crafts) with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The corner die is from My Favorite Things, a Die-namics called Four Corners. The Hoppy Easter sentiment is from A-Muse Stamps and is cut with Labels Fourteen Nestabilities (Spellbinders). Some flowers, flower trim, and a Tim Holtz metal Timepiece with game spinner finish off the card.
Meljen's Designs' Bunny Love is up next. This sweet image is colored with Copics and also cut using the Classic Circles Nestabilities (Spellbinders). The grass was created with a Martha Stewart punch. Sketch is courtesy of The Kraftyhands Challenge (April). I used the Beaded Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinder) and added flat back adhesive pearls. I've embellished with a Heart Banner (La-La-Land Crafts), pennant punch (Stampin' Up), flowers, ruffled trim, and filigree metal corner. Papers are My Mind's Eye - Deena's Penny Lane.
I have fallen in love with Stamps by Aurora Wings. This darling little man is called Sleepy Bunny and I used him for my little man's card. He's colored with Copics and fussy cut. Kayne told me the blanket needed to be brown because his is. Papers are My Mind's Eye - Lost & Find: Portobello Road. I based my design on the current Sketch Saturday (#306). I kept this one pretty simple with just a couple of metal clips (Stampin' Up). The sentiment is also from Stampin' Up, a set called Something to Celebrate. It's cut with the Fish Tail Flags Stax Die-namics (My Favorite Things).
And finally, Easter Bunny Luka from La-La-Land Crafts. This one was for my parents'. Luka is another adorable munchkin who reminds me of Kayne. I colored him up with my Copics and fussy cut him. He's matted on a Classic Ovals Nestabilities (Spellbinders) which has been embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. The papers are DCWV - The Blossom Song stack. A punched lattice border (Martha Stewart), lace trim, flowers, and Tim Holtz metal ornate plate and metal corner are the finishing touches. Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 (#11) provides the layout.
As you can see, I've been a bit busy. But tonight I'll be unwinding with the season premiere of Devious Maids, my guilty pleasure! Thanks for visiting!

Princess Bride (To-Be)
Hi there! I'm back, sharing another card. This one was a custom request for a Princess themed bridal shower. I've colored Sexy Bride Sassy from Sassy Studio Designs with Copics and fussy cut her. Her veil is covered with Frosted Lace Stickles to give it lots of sparkle. Papers are My Mind's Eye - Lost & Found: Market Street. The sketch I followed is a beauty from Cardabilities (#96). I used one of my favorite dies to create the half circle element (French Pastry by Cheery Lynn Designs). I added rhinestone flourishes, a few flowers, and a punched crown (Martha Stewart) with rhinestones added to the points. The crown on the bride's head was cut from one of the designer papers. I also added a rhinestone to the image for her earring. The sentiment inside is from Create with TLC.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you are enjoying your Sunday!

The Corrosive Challenge #197 - Pretty Pastels
Spring has finally arrived here in New England and my crafting has suffered for it! After such a long, cold, snowy Winter this fairer weather is literally a breath of fresh air and has the small man and I outside and enjoying a bit of desperately needed warmth and sunshine! I only made two cards last week, one of which I'm going to share with you today for the new Corrosive Challenge.
Our sponsor this fortnight is The Paper Shelter. With their collection of sweet and adorable digital stamps they are perfect for any crafting occasion! The really cool thing is that you not only receive a black and white line art version, but also a colored version as well- perfect for when you're crunched for time or if you just don't "do" coloring. There's usually a fabulous background digital paper and collage composition included too, all for one low price! The Paper Shelter is offering an awesome prize to our winner so you'll want to play along for your chance at a $20 gift certificate to their online shop!
Our theme for the challenge, Pretty Pastels, is perfect for Spring and the upcoming Easter holiday! The Paper Shelter has generously supplied the team with two images but I've been shopping there (twice!) recently and decided to work with this beautiful new release called Rose. She is colored with Copics and cut using the Classic Cirlces Nestabilities by Spellbinders. I received this new Magnolia Doohickeys die in the mail (after a really long wait, thanks USPS) and couldn't wait to use it! It's called ViewMaster and I cut a piece of Crumb Cake card stock with it then sponged the edges with Distress Ink in Vintage Photo. I also used another new die and matching stamp set, both from Whimsy Stamps. These are called Tiny Shapes die set and Spell It Out. I created the "HI" sentiment with them. I added cheesecloth, a punched butterfly (Martha Stewart), flatback adhesive pearls, and a Tim Holtz Pen Nib. Papers are DCWV - Vintage Collector.
I don't usually purposely work with pastels so this was indeed a challenge for me, but I love how she turned out. I hope you'll pop over to The Corrosive Challenge blog to see what soft and subtle creations the rest of the team has to share!
Markers used: Copics (E00,E11,E13, E15,E17, E19, E21, R32, R81, R85, BG10, BG72, YG61).

Friendship Gives You Wings
Sometimes it's nice to color just because. I enjoy it. It's my stress relief and therapy. And since it also nice to receive a card "just because", I decided to do exactly that for one of my friends. This is one of the images I recently purchased from The East Wind. She's called Lucy Loo Flower Goddess. I colored her with Copics and cut her out using the Romantic Rectangles Nestabilities from Spellbinders. Papers are My Mind's Eye - Dolled Up. I added a few punched butterflies (Martha Stewart), cherry blossoms dimensional stickers (Jolee's Boutique), a pearl flourish, flat back adhesive pearls, a Tim Holtz chitchat sticker for my sentiment, and a die cut corner from a set called Four Corners (My Favorite Things).
These images are SO much fun to color! I have a couple more printed out already plus I just received the April freebie in the monthly newsletter! If you're not already signed up for the newsletter, head over to The East Wind Challenge blog and look for the pink box!

KennyK's Krafty Krew #169 - Anything Goes with a Twist: Pastels
Anyone have any April Fool's Day shenanigans planned (or been the victim of them)? Hopefully it's an uneventful day here! lol I don't do well with pranks. It's no joke that I have another card to share with you, though! This one is for the new challenge over at KennyK's Krafty Krew where it's always Anything Goes. With a twist. The optional theme for this challenge is "Pastels".
I have so many awesome KennyK images that I had a hard time deciding which one to use. I had printed out several but ultimately went with Devilish Donna from the Gothic Angelz collection. I colored her with Copics and fussy cut her. Star Dust Stickles was added to her wings. I've been trying to utilize more of my die collection on my cards lately and have added two as yet unused ones here. I finally cracked open the Tim Holtz Picture Wheel (Sizzix), and I used the star and guitar from the Accent It - Rock and Roll Die-namics (My Favorite Things). Then I embellished my little heart out: lace trim, rhinestones and a rhinestone flourish, flowers, a crown from the Tim Holtz Adornments! The sentiment is also from My Favorite Things, a set called Document It - Rock On and is layered on top of a lovely Stampin' Up stamp from the Elementary Elegance set. Papers are Basic Grey - True Love.
Head over to the KennyK's Krafty Krew blog and see all the pretty pastel inspiration from Team B{iker Girl} then play along for your chance to win! Our random winner gets 3 digis of choice (5 if you use the optional twist in your project) and each of our Top 3 picks will receive 1 digi each for the honor!
