Oh Baby! x 2
Yes, I've been busy, haven't I? I have another card to share with you, one I created for twin boys, born earlier this month to my neighbor's daughter. My mom made two blanket babies for me to give to welcome their arrival (of course I forgot to snap a photo of them before I sent them off to their new home!) and I made a special card to accompany the gift.
The image is Mo's Digital Pencil's adorable Twins. This is the general, non-gender specific version. I paper pieced their jammies and colored the rest with Copics. Papers are from Stampin' Up in Bashful Blue, paired with Crumb Cake (their new name for Kraft) which I seem to be obsessed with lately. I used the Martha Stewart star border punch as well as two Spellbinders dies (Star Circles and Stars Five). The sentiment is from My Favorite Things and I added "x2" with some Thickers. I popped a corner die cut from Sizzix on the opposite corner for balance. On the back, along with my fabulous customized stamp, is a saying that completely rings true to me since I've had Kayne and I decided to share it with the new parents. The inside greeting simply says "Congratulations" and I wrote a few of my own words to the new family as well. I found my layout over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday (#216).
Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned this week over at The Corrosive Challenge for some extra posts leading up to this Sunday's challenge! It's a special one so you won't want to miss out!

Beautiful Together
Hello! This year I told myself that I was going to try to broaden my crafting horizons. Try out for a new design team. Or two. See what the big wide paper crafting world had to offer. Even if I didn't make the team.. I happened to see that Tiddly Inks is currently hosting a design team call. (Click HERE for details.) And after about a week of talking myself into it (I made the mistake of checking out the insanely talented competition first!) I decided to create something and throw my hat in the ring.
I chose to work with You and Me. It's such a sweet and romantic image! Perfect for the wedding card I needed to make. I colored the couple with Copics and added liberal amounts of Frosted Lace Stickles to her dress. My layout is based on the July sketch from Crafting Life's Pieces (CLP-60). I really am all about the embellishments and I love CLP's sketches because they are always dripping with gorgeous layers and details! My papers are from DCWV (The Luxury Stack). I have used a couple of dies - Romantic Rectangles from Spellbinders and a Magnolia flourish. The words behind the blissful couple is a Wedding Word Print stamp from Hero Arts. I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Photo for this. There's also some bling, lace, flowers, a metal filigree corner and a couple of Martha Stewart punches thrown in for good measure!
And there you have it! Wish me luck!

Play Ball!
Hi there! It's been another one of those busy crafty weeks so I thought I'd share a little something. My small man is used to his momma crafting by now. In fact, he makes requests quite often. Sometimes they are for himself. For example, he currently wants a card with a monster on it. But many times they are for others. He is super sweet and whenever I ask what we should do for someone's birthday or other special occasion he responds with "you make a card and I draw a picture". Except it sounds more like "pitcher". (Love him!) Monday was his daddy's birthday and he asked me to create something for him. Absolutely, buddy!
Since his father plays softball and is a huge sports fanatic, I selected Slugger from Mo's Digital Pencil. I colored the image with Copics and fussy cut it. Sketch is from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (#189). I used several dies on this one: Classic Circles, Ribbon Banners and Stars Five from Spellbinders and Fishtail Flags Stax from My Favorite Things. Papers are Me & My Big Ideas - Champs. As for the inside, the star border punch is Martha Stewart and that awesome sauce sentiment is from My Favorite Things- a set called called Birthday Sentiments.
I'll have another card for you before the week is out and then a special surprise this weekend so stay tuned!
Markers used: Copics (E11, E21, E00, E31, E34, BG10, R20, R39, Y32, N0, N2, N4, N6).

The Corrosive Challenge #179 - Fancy Folds
Welcome to another Corrosive Challenge! It's amazing how quickly two weeks flies by but here we are again with another fabulous sponsor and fun theme! This fortnight we are welcoming back Mayzy Art as our sponsor!
MayzyArt is a digital stamp location with a growing collection of fun stamps for use in scrapbooking and papercraft projects. MayzyArt’s goal is to provide unique, imaginative and affordable stamps. For updates on the newest stamps and sales, and examples of great projects done by MayzyArt customers visit www.mayzyart.blogspot.
Our challenge this time around is "FANCY FOLDS". Thinks easel, center step, gate fold... As long as there is more than one fold in your project, it qualifies! I opted for my absolute favoritest of favorite folds - the center step. There is a fantastic tutorial by Frances Byrne (aka StampOwl) HERE on splitcoaststampers and HERE on YouTube. I love making these with two images on either side and something fun on the center panel. Today I've used two of Mayzy's Steam Punk images, Xander and Meri. They are both colored with Copics and fussy cut. Papers are from the DCWV Naturals stack. The Steam Punk hot air balloon in the center is a Jollee's sticker embellishment and it sits on an embossed gear background. I added a couple of flowers, a bit of bling, and a few Tim Holtz metal mini gears. The metal sentiment is also Tim Holtz and reads " reality has limits; imagination is boundless". The border punch is Martha Stewart.
Mayzy is offering a $15 gift voucher to our winner so there's lots of incentive to do some creative folding and play along! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're enjoying your weekend!
Markers used: Copics (E11, E21, E00, E04, E13, E15, E17, E23, E25, E27, E31, E33, E34, YR24, YG93, R20, R39, N0, N4, N8).

Batter Up!
Hello! I'm just taking a quick moment to share a card I made this week for a co-worker's birthday. I colored up Spring Ball by Saturated Canary and popped her onto the sketch from Sunday Stamps (SSC54). I used my Mix & Match Banner Die-namics from My Favorite Things for the first time to make the banner. I also used the Fishtail Flags Die-namics as well. I added a half doily and some bling for the finishing touches. Papers are My Mind's Eye Follow Your Heart - Be Amazing.
We had a fabulous week complete with a movie (Despicable Me 2! LOVE those minions!!), a trip to the beach, and another library visit for more books. Turns out my small man is as voracious a reader as his momma! I am off to see Bon Jovi at Gillette Stadium this evening, but before I go here are a few Instagram moments from our trip to York Beach, ME.
Markers used: Copics (E11, E21, E00, E04, E23, E31, E34, R20, N0, YR24, Y23, Y32, BG10, BG72, BG75).

Coastal Romance
Hello! Just a quick post to share a card I made for a request. The recipients are getting married in CA so I opted for a coastal theme. Pink is one of their wedding colors and I was impressed that I was able to incorporate it into this creation. The sea and anything coastal scream blue and white and tan to me so using pink was going a bit against the grain, but I rose to the occasion. The pink "wave" paper is from My Mind's Eye - Happy Day. The image is Beach Path from Shelly's Images and is colored with Copics. I sponge inked the sky. I used assorted Martha Stewart punches and added flowers and pearls. The sentiment is from an Inkadinkado set. I stamped it on a sponged Ribbon Banner die cut (Spellbinders). The mat behind the image was cut with the Crown Circles Nestabilities, also from Spellbinders. I based my card on the current Sketch Saturday layout (#266) but I did substitute a circle for the square image panel.
Hope everyone has something fabulous planned for the weekend! Or maybe no plans at all! That can be equally as fabulous! We may end up at a lake again. This pattern of heat and humidity we're in is relentless!
Thanks for popping in and enjoy your day!

SMASHing with Mojo Monday
Hi again! This is my second post today so if you are looking for The Corrosive Challenge one, keep scrolling. I happened to notice that Mojo Monday is celebrating their 300th sketch and are giving away all sorts of amazing prizes! I love their sketches, even if I don't always get to play along, but didn't want to miss out on this milestone! I really didn't have a card in mind for it so I decided to do my May planner page. It features Kayne, of course, In his cute "I Dig Mom" shirt that he wore on Mother's Day. Papers are scraps from my stash (Basic Grey - Lime Rickey and My Mind's Eye - Happy Day). I used my My Favorite Things Fishtail Banners Die-namics along with two Nestabilities from Spellbinders (Classic Circles and Stars Five). The chipboard numbers are American Crafts Thickers.
We had a fun day today and a little bit of "just because" crafting was the icing on the cake. We slept in and then spent the afternoon at the lake by our house before the thunderstorms rolled in. It was such a quintessentially Summer day, and I enjoyed every moment of it with him! I mean, who doesn't enjoy building a sand kingdom and splashing in the lake?!
Now I'm off to curl up on the couch in air conditioned comfort to read my book. The perfect ending to a lazy Summer day! I hope yours was as relaxing as ours! Thanks for taking a peek at my page and hope you'll visit again soon!
