The Corrosive Challenge #221 - Hop into Spring

Hi there!  It may still feel like Winter here but Spring has sprung at The Corrosive Challenge!    Our theme this fortnight is "Hop into Spring"! (Even though we got several more inches of snow yesterday!)  For this challenge, make any Spring inspired or Easter creation to play along!

Our sponsor is the always delightful Sami Stamps!  Sami Siemers Ratliff is the owner, and if the images look a little familiar it is because she is the younger sister of Tammy from A Day For Daisies.  (Such a talented family!)  Sami has a Bachelor's Degree in Illustration.  Per her blog, "My inspiration comes from those things around me that make me happy in hopes that it might brighten your day.  We believe in surrounding yourself with the things that inspire and make you happy."

Sami is offering our winner the generous prize of a $12 Gift Certificate to her shop!  She was also kind enough to provide each of the design team members with an image of their choice.  I selected Egg Bunny.  This cute little guy is going to be Kayne's Easter card.

He is colored with Copics and fussy cut.  He was then mounted on Classic Circles and Lacey Circles Nestabilities (Spellbinders) and popped up with foam squares.  The picket fence is the wood grain Die-namics from My Favorite Things.  I also used the First Place Ribbon Die-namics and the Hoppy Easter stamp set, both from MFT.  Fran-Tage in Shabby Blue adds a bit of texture behind the image.  A couple of buttons from my stash are my only other embellishment.  Papers are The Blossom Song stack (DCWV) and the layout is inspired by the current Sketch Saturday (#354).

Copics used: B00, B02, B04, R32, R35, YG11, YG13, N0, N2, N4

Guest Designer for Art by MiRan

Hello!  Happy Friday!  I hope everyone had a wonderful week and is looking forward to the weekend!  Mine has been a bit of a roller coaster, but when the ride stopped I exited with a smile.  And I've lots to smile about!  One of those things was being asked to be guest designer over at the artbymiran challenge blog!  I was allowed to select two images as my prize for winning this honor.  I picked Pop Star Suzy to use on today's card for Challenge #28.  She is colored with Copics and cut with Classic Rectangles Nestabilities.  Papers are from the Rock Star stack (DCWV) and remind me of the movie Clueless.  One of my faves!  It must be the pink.  And the plaid.  Anyway...  I used the current Tuesday Morning Sketches (#292) for my layout and added flowers, a bit of bling, and two music related dies - Virtuoso Music and Musical Motifs (both from Memory Box).

Visit the blog to play along with this fantastic always Anything Goes challenge!  And be sure to head over to Mi Ran's etsy shop HERE for all her gorgeous digis!  She also sells rubber stamps through Whimsy Stamps HERE.

World's Cutest Leprechaun

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Everyone is a little Irish today and in this house it's an extra special day because it's Kayne's Half Birthday!  I know that's not a real "thing" but we've been celebrating it every year and why not?  Life is too short not to have all the fun you can!  So for the occasion, I whipped up some rainbow cupcakes and a leprechaun card!  We also had a visit from a real leprechaun overnight too...  He left us Rolo filled pots of "gold"!

The image is called Leprechaun and is from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I shouldn't try to color when I am stressed, tired, or otherwise preoccupied because I screw things up that way!  Lol  I missed a shoe buckle and I mistook his ears for hair!  Oops!  Luckily, the small man is a wee bit less critical than I am!  The image is colored with Copics and cut using the Labels Sixteen Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  The heart banner is La-La-Land Crafts.  I created a rainbow out of strips of colored card stock.  The shamrock paper is from Recollections.  I added a pin and a Tim Holtz metal buckle as finishing touches.  The sketch is Mojo Monday (#389) which I flipped upside down.

Here is my little leprechaun:

The Corrosive Challenge #220 - Our Animal Friends

Hello!  It's time for another Corrosive Challenge!  (There is also a new KennyK's Krafty Krew challenge live on the blog but unfortunately life got in the way of me creating for that one.)  Today over at TCC we welcome brand new sponsor, Ppinkydolls!  If you haven't seen these doe-eyed cuties before you really must visit Chrishanthi's etsy shop HERE and take a look!  While you're online also pop over to the Facebook group HERE as well!  We were given a couple of images for the design team to work with, and you get to play along for the chance to win 3 digis of your choice!

Our theme is "Our Animal Friends".  So many of the Ppinkydolls images have an animal in them that our hostess Julie thought this was the perfect challenge!  I selected Moon Girl and Owl.  She is colored with Copics and cut using Labels Seventeen (Spellbinders).  I splurged a bit on a few new dies recently and I've used a couple of them here.  That fabulous crescent moon is a Tim Holtz Bigz die (Sizzix) and comes with assorted sized stars as well.  The feather was a freebie in a magazine and is from Hot Off The Press.  The Star Circles are also Spellbinders.  I did a bit of sponging on the moon and to create a night sky for my image.  I then dotted it with Liquid Pearls.  Add a few flowers and bling flourishes and I was done.  Papers are The Sweetest Thing - Bluebell (My Mind's Eye).

Head on over to the blog to see what other furry and feathered (or scaled too) friends are waiting!

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E23, E25, E31, E35, E79, YG91, YG93, G94, R20, N0, N2, Y32, Y35, Y38, BG10, BG72, BG75

The Corrosive Challenge #219 - Follow Your Heart

Hi again!  I'm back with a new Corrosive Challenge!  We are excited to welcome a brand new sponsor for us: Faery Ink!  Amanda Byron is the artist and here is what Amanda says about herself and her art:

"I'm an artist/designer/writer based in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in upstate South Carolina. USA. My stamps are heavily influenced by my childhood in the 80s with magical girls and fantastical creatures. I have a close bond with the fae folk and I celebrate their mythos by bringing the faeries back to life in my digis and other artworks."

You can find the Faery Ink shop HERE, the challenge blog HERE and the Facebook group HERE.

Our challenge set by lovely hostess Michelle is "Follow Your Heart".  Just use at least one heart any where on your project and you're good to go!

Amanda is offering 3 digis to our winner and she also generously provided the team with an image of their choice to work with.  I selected Hip Hop Headphones.  I think she is just the cutest thing!  And everyone knows I'm a sucker for music themed images.  It brings me back to my radio days!  Anywhoo... Headphones is colored with Copics and fussy cut.  I went a bit die crazy on this one!  First, I used LLC Accent It - Cassette Tape (My Favorite Things Stamps) and the coordinating LLC Journal It - Playlist stamp set.  I also used my new Virtuoso Music die (Memory Box) plus several trusty La-La-Land Craft dies - Heart Doily Border and Heart Banner.  The small heart is a Martha Stewart punch.  I added flowers and pearls and I was done!  Papers are Fabulous Girl (Recollections).

Be sure to visit the blog and see the rest of the team's heartfelt creations!  We'd love to see you play along!  I'm hoping for a lazy Sunday....  breakfast, crafting, reading, TV.  What about you?  Is there crafting in store for you?  What are you working on right now?

KennyK's Krafty Krew #190 - Anything Goes with a Twist: Shape Up

Hello!  I'm sorry I've been quiet...  Valentine's Day wiped me out and I needed some recovery time.  And then this week I somehow threw my back out.  Several chiropractor visits later I am finally feeling human again.  The Winter That Won't End isn't helping either.  I thought we lived in New England, not Siberia!  There is more snow on the way tonight!  (Make it stop!!!)  Although I have enjoyed a bit of couch time and binge watching seasons of Downton Abbey, it was time to get crafting again.  Today I'm here again with both my DT posts.  First up is KennyK's Krafty Krew!

Our sponsor is, of course, KennyKdownloadsUse any KennyK image to play along for your chance to win 3 images of choice!  However, if you use the optional twist and you're our winner, your prize increases to 5 images!  Plus each of our Top 3 receives 1 image of choice for the distinction!

Our theme is always "Anything Goes" but there is a different twist each time.  Today we want you to "Shape Up!"!  That is: we want to see your shaped cards (no square or rectangle allowed).  I've colored up Handyman for a masculine birthday card.  I don't typically make a lot of shaped cards but this one was fun!  I used a Classic Circle Nestabilities die (Spellbinders) as my base and layered a Cogs Nestabilities die (Spellbinders) on top of it.  Then I added a couple of Sprightly Sprockets (Spellbinders), Tim Holtz gears, black mesh, and a Stampin' Up sentiment cut with Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics (My Favorite Things).  The little tire is from a model car kit found in the dollar bins at Michaels.  Papers are Boy Crazy (My Mind's Eye).

I'll be back in a few hours with my Corrosive Challenge card!  See you then!

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E35, E50, E53, E55, Y28, Y35, BG10, BG72, BG75, B32, B34, B37, R27, R46, R89, N0, N2, N4.
