The Corrosive Challenge #227 - Leave A Little Sparkle
Happy Father's Day AND first day of Summer! I am going to make this a quick post because I am off to celebrate with my dad! Breakfast out and then a home cooked fiesta of nachos and chili! Yum!
Speaking of yummy... At The Corrosive Challenge we are welcoming back A Day For Daisies as our sponsor! We love working with Tammy and all her delicious images! To go shopping in her store (HERE) you really do feel like a kid in a candy store! She is offering a $12 voucher as the prize for our winner!
Our theme is one I love - and try to live by - "Leave A Little Sparkle"! Anything shiny, sparkly, or glittery goes! Tammy is always sweet enough to let each DT member select an image to work with and I picked Fancy Hair Fairy. She is colored with Copics and cut using Labels Seventeen Nestabilities (Spellbinders). I sponged Distress Ink in Vintage Photo around the edges and then added Shabby Blue Fran-tage. Her wings are covered in Baby Blue Stickles. I used a few other dies as well: Heart Doily Border, Honeycomb, and Filigree Crown (La-La-Land Crafts). After watching a video on Youtube, I finally figured out how to use those darned punch around the page punches from Martha Stewart! (The butterfly is also from her.) I'm so glad I took the time because I love the result! I finished my creation off with a bit of lace, a bling flourish, some flowers, a Tim Holtz Corner and Philosophy Tag, and framed sentiment. The sentiment is from a Little Darlings Rubber Stamps set called Vintage Affections - Enchanted Wishes. Papers are DCWV Rustic stack.
Head over to The Corrosive Challenge blog to see the rest of the design team SPARKLE!

The Corrosive Challenge #216 - Winter Blues
Hello! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! It's time for an new Corrosive Challenge! Are you ready? We are sponsored by a company I personally love working with - A Day For Daisies! There are sweet, whimsical, classic, elegant, and vintage images for every occasion in Tammy's shop and they are a joy to color!
Our theme for this challenge is inspired by the cold winter we're in the middle of here- it's "Winter Blues". You have two options with this one: create a winter themed project or one that features blue. It doesn't have to be monochromatic but the blue should feature prominently in your project.
Tammy is offering the generous prize of a $12 gift certificate to her shop and also was sweet enough to offer images to the team to work with. I selected Robin in Winter. I needed an anniversary card for my parents this month so I thought a winter themed one would be just right to celebrate their January wedding. I colored the image with Copics and added some Aleene's Glitter Snow. The image is cut and matted with Classic Circles Nestabilities (Spellbinders) and I sponged a little Baja Breeze ink (Stampin' Up) for the "sky". My layout is courtesy of Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 (#41). Papers are DCWV - Winter Basics stack. I added a cluster of flowers, navy blue organdy ribbon, and a few punched snowflakes which came from the Martha Stewart border punch I used.
Copics used: E04, E07, E31, E35, E53, E57, E59

The Corrosive Challenge #204 - Christmas in July
Hi there! It's been a busy week around here with a couple of fun vacation days with the small man. I'm afraid I've been a bit neglectful of my crafting duties this Summer but I'm here to share my design team card for the new Corrosive Challenge today. Our sponsor is one of my faves: A Day For Daisies! And though the holidays may seem a ways off now, they'll be here before you know it so why not get a head start on your card making with our "Christmas in July" theme?!?!
A Day For Daisies owner, Tammy, is generously offering a $12 voucher to her store for our winner! She also allowed each of us to select an image to work with. I chose Wild Star Nymph. She is colored with Copics and I printed her a second time so I could fussy cut her wings for an "outside the box" effect. They are covered with a liberal amount of Star Dust Stickles. My layout is courtesy of Sketch Saturday (#319). Papers are My Mind's Eye - Lost & Found Christmas Special Edition. I used my Classic Circles and Lacey Circles Nestabilities (Spellbinders) to cut and mat the image. The star was created using the Stars Five Nestabilities (also Spellbinders). I added a Tim Holtz holiday muse token and a few flowers from my stash as finishing touches.
It was fun to make a holiday card this time of year and I hope you'll join us for this challenge! However, I am enjoying Summer and am in no rush to see Winter weather any time soon! We just enjoyed a perfect beach day last week and I'm thinking I'd like a few more before I think of building snowmen instead of sand castles!
I will be back later this week with another card or two so stay tuned! Thanks for dropping in and hope you have a fabulous day!

The Corrosive Challenge #190 - New Beginnings
The new year always brings with it the promise of renewal, a clean slate, a fresh start.... And just a few days into 2014 The Corrosive Challenge brings you a new challenge along with a new sponsor! We hope everyone enjoyed their holiday season and is ready to jump back into crafting!
We're welcoming back one of our favorites: A Day For Daisies! Tammy is offering a $12 gift voucher to the store for our winner as well as generously supplying our design team with images to use for the challenge. Visit the shop HERE to see all of the wonderful, whimsical images they have to offer!
Challenge #190 is all about those "New Beginnings". Whether it's a marriage, a new baby, starting over after a divorce, a new job, retirement, graduation, or any other occasion that marks a rite of passage from one stage or phase of life to the next. I chose A Royal Pain as my image and opted to make a card for an expectant mom. She is colored with Copics and glittered up with some Frosted Lace Stickles on her veil. I cut her out using the Romantic Rectangles Nestabilities from Spellbinders and stamped the sentiment from My Favorite Things' Baby Bump set in the corner. I added Lavish flower trim from Tim Holtz, a row of pearls, and some flowers to finish it off. Paper is My Mind's Eye - Lost & Found: Madison Avenue. The sketch is from Try Stampin' On Tuesday (#149). Their twist was "Sparkle It Up".
This is the first of two posts today so check back for my KennyK debut! In the meantime, head over to The Corrosive Challenge blog to see what's "new" with team!
Markers used: Copics (E00, E11, E21, E23, E31, E79, R32, R81, R85).

They Do
Hello! Yes, I'm still alive! After a (almost) month long blogging blitz I needed to take some time off to recover! I am sad to say that I did not meet my goal of blogging every day in October nor did I finish the SBS 13 Days of Halloween. I totally blew both of them at the 11th hour, and I'm disappointed in myself for that. I had a lot of fun creating, but it wore me out and the final late night prior to Halloween just did me in. The final nail in the coffin so to speak. Kayne and I spent last weekend relaxing. Sunday was a jammie day. All week after work I have come home and, after the chores were done, planted my butt on the couch to read or watch TV. I haven't picked up a Copic since I completed this card last Friday. I never even had the energy to blog it. I have to find my mojo and get back to the craft desk since I have a project due tomorrow and another next weekend. I thought I'd start with a little blogging and ease back into it...
I needed a wedding card for a special request. I was given the wedding colors and told to have at it. This is the result. I colored I Do from A Day For Daisies. I printed a second image and fussy cut just the veil then embossed it with the Swiss Dots folder. Papers are from Michaels' Recollections - Midnight Magic. I added an organdy bow, bling swirls, and flowers. The sketch is last week's The Deconstructed Sketch (DS125).
I feel a bit guilty for indulging in a week's worth of laziness, but I figured it was probably a good idea to do it now before the hectic holiday season set in!
Thanks for dropping by, and I hope you'll come back tomorrow for a new Corrosive Challenge.
Markers used: Copics (E00, E11, E21, E70, E74, E79, V17, V20, N0, N2, N4, N6, N8).

Time To Fly
Hey there! Today's creation is one I got to make just for fun to enter a few challenges! I was inspired by tonight's gorgeous full moon to color up this A Day For Daisies image of the same name. I used my Copics and then fussy cut her so I could mat the image on top of one of the Dizzy Duo Die-namics from My Favorite Things. Papers are DCWV's The Spooky Stack. I love the colors and patterns in this pad! I added a few flowers, a die cut branch with leaves, and a sentiment stamped on one of the Fishtail Flags Die-namics (also from MFT). The sentiment itself is Waltzingmouse Stamps. It's from a set called Gracie at Halloween. My layout is based on sketch #85 over at Cardabilities. I fell in love with this beautiful design as soon as I saw it!
It's hard to believe Halloween is less than two weeks away! I have lots of projects planned to keep me busy plus there will be frightfully fun activities with Kayne to look forward to! It kicks off tomorrow with the Great Pumpkin Fest! I just adore this time of year!!!
Thanks for visiting and hope to see you back soon!
Markers used: Copics (E00, E11, E21, E23, E31, R32, RV63, RV66, RV69, Y32, Y35, Y38, YR02, YR04, YR07, N2, N4, N6, N8).
Challenges:
- A Day For Daisies: #81-Anything Halloween
- Simply Create Too: #48-Halloween (or Use Orange)

White Wedding
I have been doing a lot of crafting these days. I guess being offline is good for something! Today I'm sharing a wedding card I made for a special request. I was asked to include a bride & groom image and the date of their wedding. I decided to go with the always classic and elegant white on white. The image is You May Kiss The Bride from A Day For Daisies. I colored it with Copics and cut it out with the Fleur de Lis Squares Nestabilities from Spellbinders. I cut four Fishtail Flags Banners and embossed them with my Swiss Dots folder. I layered those on top of another embossed panel and used the ticket corner punch for some added character. The date is computer generated and cut with thee Spellbinders Fancy Tags. The Mr. & Mrs. sentiment is from a $1 Studio G set that I picked up at AC Moore eons ago. An eye-catching bling swirl and some flowers are my finishing touches.
I am "borrowing" my parents' Internet again tonight. I did go and get a NEW new modem and cable, but I haven't been home to get them hooked up. I took the small man strawberry picking today! Here's a look:
Tomorrow is Father's Day, and I'll have a couple of cards to share. If I can get technology to cooperate with me, that is! Now I have to get myself to the grocery store and home to make a card. I really do need to stop procrastinating... lol Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far!

April {Bridal} Showers
Hello! It's been about a week since my last post, but this seems to be the beginning of my busy season so you'll probably be hearing from me a little more often for the next month or so. Weddings, graduations, and Mother's Day (oh my!) are going to keep me very busy!
Today the occasion is a wedding. A bridal shower to be exact. My co-worker asked for a special card for a friend of hers. The theme- April showers and parasols! Say no more! I knew of just the image for the occasion! This is Umbrella Love from A Day For Daisies and it is one of Sami's images (my first purchase from her collection, but definitely not my last!). This cute couple is colored in Copics with a bit of paper piecing on the umbrella. At first the requested pink and navy color scheme had me stumped, but I found some lovely papers in a couple of my My Mind's Eye pads (Moments and Lost & Found Two: Blush) that worked wonderfully! Embellishment-wise there's a little something for everyone on this card: embossing, die cuts, punches, pearls, and flowers! Not to mention a fantastic sketch from Digi Sketch Challenge! They also have an optional challenge of "Rain, Rain, Go Away" as well.
And speaking of showers, I am off now to work on some things for my brother and his fiancee's Jack & Jill shower which is Saturday! Like I said, it's going to get busy around here! I can't believe my baby brother is getting married one month from today!
Markers used: Copics (E11, E00, B32, B34, B37, B39, 100, N0, N4, N8, E23, E25, E37, E39).
Challenges:
- A Day For Daisies: #68-Use Newsprint (on the pink polka dot designer paper)
- Charisma Cards: #16-Polka Dots
- Cute Card Thursday: #166-Can't Stop The Rain
- My Heart Pieces Digital Stamp Challenge: Embossing, Wet or Dry (white panels are dry embossed with clouds)
- Shelly's Images: April Showers Bring May Flowers

The Corrosive Challenge #172 - Life's Special Moments
Ever make a card and feel as though it recharged your mojo? This was that card for me! I've been in a bit of a crafting slump lately, more focused on other things like my little man, my best friend's 40th birthday party, and a sibling's wedding. I start every day with ideas of what I will do when I sit down at my craft desk and then by the time my 8 hour work day, dinner, dishes, laundry, bathtime, playtime, story time, and bedtime are all concluded I'm too darn tired to move off the couch! But sometimes when I forced myself to sit in that chair at that desk, no matter how tired I am, amazing things happen!
We have a new Corrosive Challenge for you this fortnight and that means a new sponsor as well! A Day For Daisies is one of my favorite companies right now! Tammy's images are so whimsical and elegant, formed from graceful lines, and I have a wish list a mile long!
We were lucky enough to be allowed to select one image from the ADFD online shop to work with for our challenge. I chose "Wedding Veil" for our Life's Special Moments theme. Life is full of times that are worth celebrating. Make a project for one of these times - a wedding, a birthday, a new baby, a graduation, a retirement, anything that is cause for merry making and happiness - and share it with us over at The Corrosive Challenge! I was asked to make a (and I quote) "rustic shabby chic" bridal shower card for a "fashionista". So, how did I do?
I colored this gorgeous image with Copics, giving just a faint pink blush to her gown and leaving the veil untouched except for the flat back pearls. I then went to town with layers, die cuts (Spellbinders Ribbon Banners and Romantic Rectangles), pearls, lace, and flowers! Papers are from the beautiful 6x6 Bramble Rose pad from My Mind's Eye. The lovely sketch is courtesy of Crafting Life's Pieces (CLP-57).
If you'd like a chance to win a $12 credit to A Day For Daisies please come link up and play along! If you head over to The Corrosive Challenge blog you'll find the rest of my team has special moments to share with you too! A Day For Daisies also has a bi-weekly challenge and there is still time to enter Challenge #67-Your Favorite Technique. You must use ADFD image to play along, but Tammy makes that easy by providing a fabulous freebie with every challenge! I love so many different techniques it is hard to pick just one, but coloring with Copics is at the top of my list! I also {heart} sketches and adding embellishments, but I wasn't sure if those qualified as techniques.
When I shared this card with my co-workers it prompted a flurry of orders so I had best make some time at that craft desk today! Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day! And speaking of life's special moments, here's a peek of our day yesterday at the carnival!
Markers used: Copics (E11, E21, E00, E23, E34, E79, R20, R81).
