Hi there! It may still feel like Winter here but Spring has sprung at The Corrosive Challenge! Our theme this fortnight is "Hop into Spring"! (Even though we got several more inches of snow yesterday!) For this challenge, make any Spring inspired or Easter creation
to play along!
Our sponsor is the always delightful Sami Stamps! Sami Siemers Ratliff is the owner, and if the images look a little familiar it is because she is the younger sister of Tammy from A Day For Daisies. (Such a talented family!) Sami has a Bachelor's Degree in Illustration. Per her blog,

Sami is offering our winner the generous prize of a $12 Gift Certificate to her shop! She was also kind enough to provide each of the design team members with an image of their choice. I selected Egg Bunny. This cute little guy is going to be Kayne's Easter card.
He is colored with Copics and fussy cut. He was then mounted on Classic Circles and Lacey Circles Nestabilities (Spellbinders) and popped up with foam squares. The picket fence is the wood grain Die-namics from My Favorite Things. I also used the First Place Ribbon Die-namics and the Hoppy Easter stamp set, both from MFT. Fran-Tage in Shabby Blue adds a bit of texture behind the image. A couple of buttons from my stash are my only other embellishment. Papers are The Blossom Song stack (DCWV) and the layout is inspired by the current Sketch Saturday (#354).

Hey there! How goes it, crafty peeps? Today is the start of my birthday week and what better way to kick it off than with a new Corrosive Challenge!?
We have a fabulous new sponsor lined up for you too! We're welcoming back Sami Stamps! Sami has generously provided the design team with images to work with and she is offering a $12 gift certificate to her STORE for our winner!
In honor of the day I was born, our challenge theme is "Birthdays". Simply make a birthday card,
any kind for anyone, and enter it for your chance to win! I selected Whiskers Under My Broom to work with. She is colored with Copics and cut out using the Classic Squares Nestabilities (Spellbinders). I found a fun challenge over at Your Next Stamp (#15) that combined a fun sketch and inspirational photo. You could use one or the other or both. Since it was a phot of purple cupcakes, I figured I'd use my favorite color in my creation. Papers are Lilybeedesign - Picket Fence tiny tablet. The sentiment is computer generated and cut using the Fishtails Flags Stax Die-namics (My Favorite Things). I added ribbon, flowers, pearls, and a couple of pipe cleaners. I have seen this embellishment used on other cards and wanted to try it. I think maybe they are a tad too wide, but I like them anyway.
And if you've read all the way to the end you will see that I have a special birthday BLOG CANDY up for grabs! This item is a hot commodity so you might want to enter the random drawing... It is Issue #47 of Complete Cardmaking magazine. Yup, this is the one with the CD that contains those coveted Saturated Canary images!!! Happy Mother's Day! Wishing all you mamas out there a fabulous day! We'll be celebrating with my mom and a little Chinese take-out. It's supposed to be a gorgeous day so I'm looking forward to some sunshine, a bit of relaxing, and maybe even a little coloring before the day is over. But right now I have a new Corrosive Challenge to tell you about! We are welcoming sponsor, Sami Stamps! Artist Sami Siemers Ratliff is the talent behind these wonderfully whimsical images. And if the art work looks a little similar to another one of our much loved sponsors, A Day For Daisies, well that is because Sami is Tammy's little sister! Lots of talent in that family, for sure!
Our theme this fortnight is a fun one - "Banner Day"! It's as easy as throwing a banner on your project! Sami graciously offered each team member an image to work with as well the $12 gift certificate she will provide for our winner! I selected Comfy Cocoa for my creation. This image reminded me of my mom and her love for coffee and yoga. She is colored with Copics and cut using the Classic Rectangles Nestabilities (Spellbinders). I once again added some Fran-tage embossing enamel to the image panel, this time in Aged Rose. The sketch is #150 from The Deconstructed Sketch. I've used a few dies on the card: Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics (My Favorite Things), Heart Banner (La-La-Land Crafts), Leaf Doohickey (Magnolia), and Tiny Shapes (Whimsy Stamps). The latter coordinates with the Spell It Out alphabet stamp set I used for the "MOM" sentiment. Papers are DCWV - Vintage Collector.

Since Kayne is little still I treated myself to some Mother's Day goodies - a trip to the salon for nails and a pedi as well as six Saturated Canary digis and a new Magnolia die (The castle! I can't wait for it to arrive!) But my sweet small man showered me with love only a preschooler can give!

Hello! It's been about a week since my last post, but this seems to be the beginning of my busy season so you'll probably be hearing from me a little more often for the next month or so. Weddings, graduations, and Mother's Day (oh my!) are going to keep me very busy!
Today the occasion is a wedding. A bridal shower to be exact. My co-worker asked for a special card for a friend of hers. The theme- April showers and parasols! Say no more! I knew of just the image for the occasion! This is Umbrella Love from A Day For Daisies and it is one of Sami's images (my first purchase from her collection, but definitely not my last!). This cute couple is colored in Copics with a bit of paper piecing on the umbrella. At first the requested pink and navy color scheme had me stumped, but I found some lovely papers in a couple of my My Mind's Eye pads (Moments and Lost & Found Two: Blush) that worked wonderfully! Embellishment-wise there's a little something for everyone on this card: embossing, die cuts, punches, pearls, and flowers! Not to mention a fantastic sketch from Digi Sketch Challenge! They also have an optional challenge of "Rain, Rain, Go Away" as well.
And speaking of showers, I am off now to work on some things for my brother and his fiancee's Jack & Jill shower which is Saturday! Like I said, it's going to get busy around here! I can't believe my baby brother is getting married one month from today!
