The Corrosive Challenge #182 - All About Fall

Welcome to another Corrosive Challenge!  Our fabulous sponsor this fortnight is Meljen's Designs!

Here is a little bit about them in their own words:

Meljen's Designs is a lovely stamp company owned and illustrated by Melissa Jenkins. She illustrates whimsical rubber and digital images inspired by her kids and family. Meljen's Designs has a new challenge every Thursday, and a Guest Designer each month at the Meljen's Designs Blog. Please visit the adorable line of Meljen's Designs stamps at our store HERE to browse all of Melissa's lovely designs! You can also see Melissa's exclusive rubber stamps at her corner of Whimsy Stamps, too!  Don't forget to join Meljen's Designs on Facebook HERE to take advantage of special sales and promotions that are just for her facebook fans

Melissa generously provided the team with several images to work with for our "All About Fall" theme. She is also offering a prize of 4 (non colored) images as a prize for our winner!  All of the images were adorable but I chose Pumpkin Crow for my project.  The image is colored with Copics, cut with Classic Circles Nestabilities, and matted with Pumpkin Circles Nestabilities (both from Spellbinders).  My design is courtesy of i {heart} sketches (no 32).  Papers are from the new Pumpkin Patch stack by DCWV!  Aren't they lovely?  I added flowers, a couple of gems, and a sentiment from the Pink Victorian Steampunk stamp set by former stamp company Tickled Pink Stamps.

We're in the middle of Labor Day weekend here which unofficially marks the end of Summer.  Though I will be enjoying what remains of the dog days of Summer, I will be happy when that unmistakable crisp Fall chill fills the air.  It is my favorite season and it makes my heart smile!  Thanks for checking in and be sure to pop over to The Corrosive Challenge blog to see all the wonderful creations from the rest of the team!  Enjoy your day!

Creepy and Kooky

It has been a busy weekend already and of course my Internet has decided to act up.  I can't get my laptop to connect at home so I am doing this from my parents' house.  Sadly, my battery is also dead so that limits me from taking advantage of free WiFi most places because I need an outlet too.  So, I will try to get my Corrosive Challenge post up on time, but my card may not be added until I can get to someplace with access again on Monday or Tuesday.  Because of course I have procrastinated and it's not done quite yet.  lol

For now, I am posting a quick card that I made for my best friend.  We went to the theater last night to see The Addams Family, and I felt the urge to color up Wednesday Sara Addams from Sassy Studio Designs.  The sketch is #21 from i {heart} sketches.  The image is colored with Copics, and I used a little spider web stamp in two of the corners.  I also sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Old Paper Distress Ink to tone down the whiteness some.  The pearls were placed around the edge of a Spellbinders Classic Circles Nestabilities die.  My favorite Martha Stewart border punch- Drippy Goo - graces the right side of the image and the inside of the card.  A spattering of flowers in the corner finish off the card.

The show was awesome and we had a lot of laughs!  It might not have been Broadway (I've seen a few shows there as well as in Boston) but it was still a thrill to attend live theater!  So much talent on stage!  And a whole bunch of fun!  I highly recommend it for a creepy and kooky good time!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you're enjoying your weekend so far!

Markers used: Copics (E11, E21, E00, E31, E34, E74, E79, R20, R35, R39, R89, N0, N2, N4, N6, N8, 100, YG03, YG06).

Mom, Mum, Mommy, Ma... And Some Advice

Hi!  I'm checking in today with another card and my Blog Every Day in May post of the day.  I'm sharing another Mother's Day card- this one for a hip mom who love shopping and leopard print!  I immediately thought of Shopaholic from Mayzy Art and colored her up with my Copics.  The paper is Little Black Dress - The New Black from Basic Grey and Six by Six - Vanity Fair from My Mind's Eye.  I used one of my favorite Martha Stewart border punches and added some flat back pearls and a chipboard "Mom" sentiment unearthed from my stash.  The fishtail banners were made using a My Favorite Things Die-namics.  The sketch is the new i {heart} sketches no17.

Today's theme for the Blog Every Day in May challenge is: A piece of advice you have for others. Anything at all.

My advice?  Follow your intuition!  It will never steer you wrong!  Listen to those gut feelings even if the rest of the world thinks your crazy.  Or tries to make you think you are.  Listen even if you don't want to hear what it's telling you.  And act!  Follow your heart!  It will always show you the way...

That's all for tonight.  Short and sweet as I'm off to work on more crafty stuff!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Markers used: Copics (E11, E21, E00, R20, R81, R85, E23, E27, E31, BG10, BG72, YG91, YG93, YG95, N4, N6).

- Mayzy Art Challenge: #16-Anything Goes/Rainbows
- Inky Impressions: #108-Mother's Day/For a Lady

I Workout

I don't (though I should) but the reason for the post title is that I had LMFAO's song stuck in my head the entire time I was coloring up Jamie Workout from Saturated Canary!  lol  This card was made for a coworker to give to her mom for her birthday.  I was told she liked to cook and workout.  I guess those are two hobbies that coexist nicely!  I wanted to play along with the current Saturated Canary challenge of "All things bright and beautiful" (#42 with optional color scheme) so I opted for Krista's sexy workout image.  She is colored with Copics and fussy cut.  I used i {heart} card sketches no. 16 for my layout.

I embellished with a Spellbinders die and Martha Stewart border punch along with some flowers and pearls.  Papers are My Mind's Eye - Happy Day.

I should have spent time coloring tonight with all of the projects that are looming over me this upcoming week, but sometimes I need to remind myself that I'm only human.  I needed a breather.  A little time with the small man, an episode of one of my new favorite shows, Scandal, and a bit of blogging.  Now I think it's beauty sleep and tomorrow I will be recharged and ready to take on work, errands, and a stack of images waiting to be brought to life with my Copics.

Thanks for stopping by and hope your week has been a fabulous one so far!

Markers used: Copics (100, N8, N4, N0, B32, BG72, BG10, R85, R81, R02, E79, E74, E34, E21, E11, YR00).
