Wow, it seems like forever since I've had a new Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge for you! But here we are, back with the first challenge of 2012! And it's one that we all love, one that will ease us back in to another fabulous year of {PINK} challenges - "Anything Goes"!
I decided to make a Valentine's Day card using Lil Valentine Luca. Isn't he romantic with his rose and box of chocolates? I used designer paper by K&Company that was left over from last year. No card is complete without a few Martha Stewart punches and some flowers, right? Oh, and let's not forget a Tim Holtz embellie! I've been on a doily kick lately too. I used a sketch (challenge #146) I found over at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge as my layout. I tweaked a few things to accommodate my embellishments (my sentiment is vertical rather than horizontal, for instance), but I think it works.
Handsome Lil Lad Luca is colored with Copics (E11, E21, E00, E31, R20, E25, E27, W6, W8, W10, B34, B37, YG95) and Prismacolor Art Markers (151, 152, 194, 208).
I hope you'll stop by the Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge blog to see what the rest of the lovely design team ladies have created for you. I'm sure they won't disappoint! And while you're there, maybe you'll play along for your chance to win 1 digital stamp of your choice. All you need to join in the fun is any Tickled Pink Stamps image on your project.
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
- Karen's Doodles Challenge Blog: #95 - Valentine's/Love
- The Pink Elephant: #130 - Hearts
- Anything Goes Challenge Blog: #58 - Anything Goes
- My Time To Craft: #170 - XOXO Hugs & Kisses
- Bearly Mine Challenges: #26 - Anything Goes
Thanks for the visit! Have a fabulous day!
{hugs}

I'm back with your new Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge and this week it's DISTRESSING! Now don't fret... I didn't mean the challenge will upset you (Though it may, if you're like me and cringe every time you crumple, rip, tear, and otherwise maul perfectly good card stock and designer paper! lol)! We simply want to see a distressed look on your creation. That may mean tearing some paper, inking it up, sanding down an embellishment or any other type of distressing that you can dream up. All are acceptable.
I have used a combination of techniques on my card. I haven't crafted in 5 days and have
b
een feeling a bit blue. This whole projected ended up being one big therapy session for me and it felt good to channel my feeling into something creative! I used Lil Valentine Lilith as my image. I love that look on her face! I've been there, and I felt a kinship with her. She was printed on white card stock and colored with Copics and Prismacolor markers. I inked the edges of my card base with Vintage Photo Distress Ink from Tim Holtz. I love that man and his crafting supplies! My next layer of purple card stock was cut with deckle scissors around the edges, run through my Cuttlebug in a 5x7 embossing folder and then sanded. The black and white designer paper was ripped and the edges also inked with Vintage Photo. My final layer is Kraft on which I printed a poem of unrequited love by Lord Byron entitled When We Two Parted. I misted the card stock with water, crumpled it, ripped the edges, sponged the edges with Vintage Photo and the surface with Old Paper Distressing Ink. After that, all that was left was to add my embellishments. I distressed the adage tickets as well. My layout started out as this week's Mojo Monday sketch (#191), but once I got started it sort of took on a life of it's own, and I ended up deviating from the sketch slightly.
Thanks for looking, and I hope you'll leave me a comment to let me know what you think! I am hoping each day gets brighter for me, at least metaphorically anyway since it's been raining for days and the trend is forecast to continue through the weekend. Enjoy YOUR day and happy crafting!
