A La-La Land Crafts Easter

Hi there!  We celebrated Easter over the weekend and I have a few cards that I made for the occasion.  I used La-La Land Crafts products almost exclusively!  Because...  have you heard the news?  I am now a member of the Club La-La Land Crafts Design Team!!!!  This is a definite dream come true and a bucket list item for me!  They had a design team call, and I took a chance and entered!  The feeling when I got the news was one of pure joy!  LLLC is one of my absolute favorite companies!   I will be on the Club team, which means every month I will create projects using the exclusive stamps and dies that are released in the monthly Club Kit.  If you aren't familiar with the Club Kit, HERE is the link so you can check it out!  I've been a member since September 2015 and it was one of the best crafty decisions I've made!

I have four Easter cards to share with you today!  Up first is Easter Bunny Luka!  He is colored with Copics, fussy cut, and popped up with foam squares.  This is the only card where I used a die other than LLLC.  The Stitched Bunny Peep is from Kat Scrappiness.  All the other dies, unless retired, can be found HERE.  This cutie was my son's Easter card!

LLLC Dies Used:
Loopy Doily Border, Heart Fan, Small Lacy Border, Tall Birdhouses, Tulips Border, Stitched Elements, Heart Fence, Happy Stitched, Easter Blessings, Hot Air Balloon

Copics Used:

Egg-B00, B02, B04, Y23
Chocolate Bunny-E25, E27, white gel pen

On the next card I've used Luka with Truck, but since I wanted it to be an Easter card I printed another Easter Bunny Luka and colored just the hat and ears.  I then fussy cut the hat and pasted it to Luka with Truck's head, paper doll style.  It's important to note that the original images have not been altered, per LLLC Terms of Use.

LLLC DIes Used:
Sunburst, Country Hill, Country Fence, Grass Border, Nested Frames Small, Birdhouse, Bumble Bee, Honeycomb, Steampunk Border, Steampunk Heart Cogs, Happy Stitched, Easter Blessings

The next two cards feature Marci stamps.  I colored Easter Dress Marci for the first card.  She is fussy cut and popped up with foam squares like the others.

Kenny K Design Team Call

I've been laying low this month, relaxing and recharging before the hectic holiday season, but when I saw that Kenny K was having a design team call I just had to get up off the couch for that!  They are looking for 6 new designers (as well as 4 guest designers) and all of the details for the call can be found HERE on the KennyK Krafty Krew challenge blog.  You have until November 30th if you would like to apply.

I have long admired this talented team and having been lucky enough to guest design for them this year, I knew immediately that I wanted to put my name in the running!  The requirements don't call for a new creation, but I've been wanting to play anyway so I colored up Cozy Cocoa with my Copics and went from there.  The sketch is #197 from Sweet Sunday Sketch.  I fussy cut the image and double mounted it- first on a Dizzy Doily Die-namics die cut (My Favorite Things) and then on an actual Wilton's doily.  I used several punches from Martha Stewart (icicle border and snowflake) as well as a couple of other dies (Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics also by MFT, and a Sizzix corner die).  The pretty papers are from My Mind's Eye - Merry Little Christmas.  Some pearls keep it classic and classy for the finishing touch.

Kenny K is one of my favorite digital stamp companies and here are a few of my favorite creations from this past year:

Good luck to all the entrants!  It's always amazing to see how much talent is out there in blogland!  Thanks for taking a peek at my work and hope to see you back here on Sunday when I share not one, but two, new cards!

Happy Friday!

Markers used: Copics (E00, E11, E21, E23, E31, E37, E79, R32, R37, R39, R81, R85, R89, YR15, YR18, Y35, Y38, BG10, BG72, YG95, N0, N2, N4)

The Paper Shelter Design Team Call

Hello!  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  I was very busy conjuring up some crafty magic and so now I'm here to share that project I hinted at yesterday.  I've been working on it for three days, but the minute I saw Incantation, this adorable witch image from The Paper Shelter, I started the planning!  Halloween will be here before we know it, after all!  I happened to see on their Facebook page that The Paper Shelter was having a design team call.  I'm completely smitten with these gorgeous images so there was no way I could not apply!   Visit their shop HERE and you'll see what I mean!

My project is an altered photo tray turned shadow box.  The actual tray was purchased at Michaels.  It's from their Recollections line.  I printed Incantation larger than I normally would have for a card and colored her with Copics.  I fussy cut her, and let me tell you, that was no easy feat!  Her hair was a little tricky, and I may have inadvertently given her a trim!   She's so cute, though, that even with a bad hair cut she still looks amazing!  I did my happy dance as I pulled out Halloween papers, stamps, and embellishments!  I'll give you the complete list below for anyone who might be curious, but trust me when I say I used A LOT of stuff!  My desk was buried for a while there!  I had so much fun creating this, and she will be proudly displayed in my home this Halloween (and maybe even year round)!  Here are some close ups so you can see the detail.

Thanks for stopping by and wish me luck!  There are already over 80 entries so I've got some pretty talented competition!

Beautiful Together

Hello!  This year I told myself that I was going to try to broaden my crafting horizons.   Try out for a new design team.  Or two.  See what the big wide paper crafting world had to offer.  Even if I didn't make the team..  I happened to see that Tiddly Inks is currently hosting a design team call.  (Click HERE for details.) And after about a week of talking myself into it (I made the mistake of checking out the insanely talented competition first!) I decided to create something and throw my hat in the ring.

I chose to work with You and Me.  It's such a sweet and romantic image!  Perfect for the wedding card I needed to make.  I colored the couple with Copics and added liberal amounts of Frosted Lace Stickles to her dress.  My layout is based on the July sketch from Crafting Life's Pieces (CLP-60).  I really am all about the embellishments and I love CLP's sketches because they are always dripping with gorgeous layers and details!  My papers are from DCWV (The Luxury Stack).  I have used a couple of dies - Romantic Rectangles from Spellbinders and a Magnolia flourish.  The words behind the blissful couple is a Wedding Word Print stamp from Hero Arts.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Photo for this.  There's also some bling, lace, flowers, a metal filigree corner and a couple of Martha Stewart punches thrown in for good measure!

And there you have it!  Wish me luck!

Markers used: Copics (E000, E00, E11, E21, E23, E25, E31, E33, E34, E37, R00, R02, R20).

Save a Horse...

You know how the song goes!  I saw this paper in my stash and that is immediately what started playing in my head!  lol  I knew I wanted to make a card for the Kenny K Krafty Girlz design team call (found here).  And I knew there was a sexy cowgirl that fit the bill!  Once I selected my sketch, the rest just came together easily!  I love when that happens, don't you?  I've been dying to color up Jessi Jane forever now, and this seemed like a fabulous time to make a fun card, just for the heck of it!

I chose the I {heart} sketches "sketch for you to try" for June as my layout.  You can find the details on this fantastic sketch here.  The papers, which have been in my stash for well over a year, are Debbie Mumm by Creative Inspirations.  Jessi is colored with Copics and Prismacolor Art Markers.  I used my computer to generate the sentiment and then used my Spellbinders Stars Five Nestabilities to cut it out.  I also used Classic Circles dies on the card as well.  A little bling here, some flowers there, and I was ready to go!

I love Kenny K's images, and I am crossing my fingers that I am considered.  I was checking out the competition earlier, and there are some talented crafters that have turned out for this call!  But I expected nothing less!  Still, you never know unless you try so I'm throwing my cowgirl hat in the ring!  :)

I would also like to enter this card in the following challenges:
- Shelly's Images: Blingage
- ATCs and Cards with Attitude: #15-Anything Goes/Father's Day
- Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge: #64-Swirls and Flourishes

Thanks for visiting and for all your lovely comments!  I love the feedback I receive on my creations!  Have a fabulous evening.  It's time to relax for us here.  We're a little tuckered out from the sun, fun in the pool, and late night crafting!  (Well, okay that last one is just me! lol)

The Corrosive Challenge #139 - Anything EXCEPT Christmas and a Design Team Call

Welcome to the last Corrosive Challenge of the year! And since it falls on the Sunday after my company holiday party, this post is going to be brief. I am scheduling it ahead of time since I do not believe I will be functional come tomorrow morning! lol And since I am running late and haven't even begun to get ready for a party that starts in less than an hour, I'd best get moving!

So on to the challenge.... We are giving you a free pass from making holiday stuff. We want to see Anything EXCEPT Christmas! No holiday cheer here, thank you! We're also looking to expand our design team for 2012. If you are interested all you have to do is add "DT" after your name when you link your project. Candidates who are selected will be contacted via e-mail after the 1st of the year. I hope you'll play along with our fa-la-la-free challenge!

We have a new sponsor since it is a new month, and we'd like to welcome Krista Smith of Saturated Canary! Check out her etsy.com shop for all her adorable and whimsical images! I have selected Whispy, a Fairy for my card. I'm a fan of Krsita's work anyway, but this image she was kind enough to provide specifically for this challenge. I made a "Thinking of You" card. She is colored with Copics and Prismacolor Art Markers. Papers are from My Mind's Eye, a darling little pad called So Sophie - Graceful. Only cost me $2 for the 24 sheet 6x6 pad! How could I resist? Flowers and pearls are from my stash and I used my Martha Stewart punch to add some white branches.

My sketch is an old one from Graphicat Designs, but this month's challenge is to select any of their previous sketches. I went with July. The prize is a spot on their design team. I love Cheri's layouts, wicked sense of humor, and fabulous digi and clear stamps so I have to participate! For all the details, visit her challenge blog here.

I hope you've enjoyed my creation! I appreciate you stopping by and love hearing from my visitors! And please visit The Corrosive Challenge blog to see what delights my design team mates have to share with you, too! Enjoy your Sunday and have a crafty day!

Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge Guest Design Call

How did Monday get here already? I have been having so much fun crafting that the weekend just flew by! I completed four cards this weekend, and I even impressed myself with what I got accomplished! This was the last card I finished VERY late last night, and I couldn't wait to post it! It is my entry for the guest designer call on Tickled Pink Stamps challenge blog! This is a coveted position, and the talented pool of TPS followers is unparalleled (and a little intimidating! lol), but I had to try as I would love to be a part of this team of fabulous artists! We were given a sketch to work with, and I chose Lil Fashionette 30s Lylah in digital form as my image. Those lovely designer papers are BoBunny, and I tried to use embellishments that gave my card a vintage, time-worn feel. If you'd like a chance to be a guest designer for TPS you have until April 29th to submit your creations using the sketch above and a Tickled Pink Stamps image. You can find all the details here.

Thanks for visiting, and I hope you have an amazing day!
