Dare To Be Sassy Thursday #57 - Recipe Challenge

Welcome to another Dare To Be Sassy Thursday with Sassy Studio Designs! Challenge #57 is a recipe one and calls for 1 ribbon, 2 designer papers, and 3 embellishments. I used splitcoaststampers' SC316 as my layout, though I tweaked it a little by using the Paisley Nestie instead of a rectangle shape. My image is one of the new digis from SSD's Blast from the Past collection.... She's called Flapper Femme. Isn't she divine?

Today was another snowy day here.... We must have gotten at least another foot of the fluffy stuff! I am almost out of time off so I did venture to work today. "Sloppy" is the only word I can think of to describe the roads, but the small man made it to day care and I to my place of employment so all is well. It was a short day for me anyway as we had an afternoon appointment so I really can't complain. I didn't even do that much shoveling (you've got to love kind neighbors with snowblowers!) but I am still exhausted. So no crafting tonight, but the weekend looms ahead and I'm sure there will be more sassiness to be had... :)

Thanks for looking!

One Stop Craft Challenge Week 115 - More Than One Fold

And it's time for another Sassy Studios Designs sponsorship: One Stop Craft Challenge Week 115 - More Than One Fold! For this challenge I made my first attempt at an easel card! I was actually surprised at how easy it was! A small amount of effort goes a long way and produces these fabulous results! I checked out a tutorial on YouTube for instructions (what did we do before everything was so readily available to us on the Internet!?! lol). Sorry that I'm a little late with my post, but you still have until Friday if you want to play along!

This is going to be a short post. There is a slight coating of snow I need to go shovel before we can start our day. This is just a minor inconvenience, but we're bracing for yet another big snow storm here tomorrow. It's been an interesting month, weather-wise! And while snow days with my son are priceless, they're less fun when they're unpaid from work! I'm almost out of vacation time so maybe Mother Nature will cut us some slack soon! :)

Hope you are having a wonderful week so far where you are! Thanks for looking and be sure to check back as I'll have a couple of other projects to share this week!

Inspirational Card Sketches - ICS98

Hello! Sorry I've been quiet for a few days... Between another snow and ice storm here in MA and my son coming down with strep throat I've been a little preoccupied! Luckily, we were able to see his doctor today and get a prescription so I hope he will be feeling better soon!

This is going to be a brief post, but I just wanted to let you know about a fabulous Sassy Studio Designs sponsorship over at Inspirational Card Sketches! For your chance to win four SSD digital images of your choice, just create something based on the above sketch and link it up over on the ICS blog before January 24th! It's as easy as that!

For my card, I used another of the new images from the Blast from the Past collection. She's called Sock Hop Sweetie 2, and she was so much fun to work with! I knew what I was going to do as soon as I saw the sketch! This was one of those times when I was truly inspired! I used a variety of techniques on this card - dry embossing, distressing, and paper piercing. I even colored one of the pearls with my Prismacolor markers! It ended up looking suspiciously like a Valentine's Day card, didn't it? But I just had to use those yummy looking Basic Grey designer papers, though!

Thanks for looking and hope you are having a wonderful week so far!

Sketch Saturday #138 - Hey, Foxy Lady

It's a lazy Sunday here, and I am enjoying some computer time & coffee while my son watches a Disney movie. I was up late last night to finish this card. I had hoped to have it ready for the Sassy Studio Designs new release party blog last night, but as will happen, life got in the way. I was inspired to finish it, though, and stayed up because I am just THAT excited about the new images!

Here I have used the new SSD digital image, Disco Diva 2. Artist/owner Lindsay has outdone herself with this release! Pop on over to the shopping blog to check out all the ladies included in the Blast from the Past collection.

My layout is based on the Sketch Saturday #138 challenge. The large rhinestones were a bargain find at Michaels - four for only twenty cents! I paired the image with a saying from one of my My Favorite Things sets.

Thanks for looking! I hope you like the updated look of my blog too! I'd like to give special thanks to my crafty friend, Michelle, who created the banner for me! Be sure to check back as I'm sure I won't be able to resist creating something with the two images I have yet to use (Victorian Beauty and Flapper Femme)!

Sassy Studio Designs New Release - Blast from the Past

We don't need a flux capacitor to travel back in time.... That's because we've got the very 1st release for 2011 from Sassy Studio Designs! From 50s sock hop sweetie to 60s go go and hippie girls to 70s disco diva, Lindsay at SSD has given us sassiness for each decade! You saw my sneak peek of Go Go Girl earlier, and now, above is my mellow, peace-loving, pastel-hued, psychedelic Hippy Chick! These ladies, along with Victorian Beauty and Flapper Femme, will be available for purchase today so make sure you get over to the Sassy Studio Designs store for some retro fun!

That is exciting, but wait! There's more! I hinted a few days ago that I had some news to share... Well, I am proud to announce that I have been selected as one of the newest members of the Sassy Studio Designs design team! I am thrilled beyond words to be able to work with these ladies again! I enjoyed my guest designer spot so much last summer that I jumped at the chance to apply for a six month term! And I was chosen! I absolutely adore Lindsay's images and hope that enthusiasm shows in my creations!

So, back to the new release... We have some fabulous fun planned to celebrate the release, of course! We will be chatting on the party blog from 6-8pm PST (that's 9-11pm EST for all us East Coasters). Be sure to check the SSD blog for the link shorty before party time! But first up is a design team blog hop! Start on the SSD blog then follow the directions from there. If you came from Sara's blog then you already know all about it, as I am the 2nd stop on the hop. But in case you came to see me first (aw, how sweet!) I'll explain how it works, give you your next stop, which is Julie (another new DT member), and remind you to back track to Sara's blog. So here is the deal: Each design team member will have a song title posted on their blog. What you have to do is guess the name of the artist for each song, from each blog, then e-mail all your guesses to Amanda by Sunday night at 11:59pm EST. One lucky winner will be chosen on Monday and will receive as her prize two SSD images!

Remember, e-mail your guesses to Amanda at tandjstudios(at)gmail(dot)com by Sunday night for a chance to win two fabulous digital images from Sassy Studio Designs!

Also joining us today for all the new release fun is our January guest designer, Candy Geeter! Please welcome her to the SSD team! Visit her blog, Purple Card Lady, to say "hello" and see what she's created for the new release!

So off you go to hop and shop and have a blast - from the past! Hope to see you all later tonight on the party blog!
