2015 Catch Up

Hi!  I have a bunch of miscellaneous birthday cards made in 2015 that I have yet to share so let's get to it!

This first card was for my mom's birthday last year.  I was pressed for time and didn't want to color an image.  It's rare I make a card without coloring involved, but this was one of those times.  I used the Tim Holtz Bigz Sewing Room die (Sizzix).  The border punch is from Martha Stewart.

Next is a card I made for a co-worker's birthday.  I colored Birthday Wishes from Redonkadoodles.  The image is cut with Labels Two Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I also added Lattice Border and Scalloped Banner dies (La-La-Land Crafts), Balloon punch (Martha Stewart), and a stamped sentiment from Stampin' Up cut with one of their circle punches.  Bakers twine, pearls, a metal flourish, and a few flowers finish off this creation.

And here is a card for one of Kayne's friends.  I colored My Super Boy from Tiddly Inks then fussy cut him and used foam squares to pop him up on a designer paper background.  The City Skyline and Happy Birthday dies are from My Favorite Things.  The star is from Stars Five Nestabilities (Spellbinder) and the star border is a Martha Stewart punch.

This next project was a combination birthday and new home card for a co-worker.  I colored this cute little house from Waltzingmouse Stamps' A Cottage Home set then I loaded it with dies!  Here I've used Lattice Border, Hot Air Balloon, Street Lamp, and Wrought Iron Fence (La-La-Land Crafts) as well as

Another co-worker birthday prompted this masculine card using Stampin' Up's Classic Convertibles stamp set.  No coloring needed, just a bunch of fun dies including Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics (My Favorite Things) and Flag Banner and Steampunk Border (La-La-Land Crafts).

Here is Kayne's birthday card from last year.  His party theme was Batman so I found a coloring page online to use for his card.  He is colored with Copics and fussy cut.  The City Skyline Die-namic is from My Favorite Things, the big bat die cut is from Spellbinders and the border is a Martha Stewart punch.  I created the Bat Signal with a printable file purchased online.  The chevron paper was also a purchased digital file.

Another birthday card with no coloring!  (I did stamp the sentiment, though.)  This was made using My Favorite Things Stamps Game Controller Die-namics.  The sentiment is from their coordinating Level Up stamp set.  The other dies used are Lattice Border and Lattice Doily Border (La-La-Land Crafts).

This was a birthday card for another one of Kayne's little friends.  I colored Little Captain Oscar from Simply B Stamps' Jude and the Rockers Little Heroes collection.  He's colored with Copics and cut using Labels Nestabilities Four (Spellbinders).  Also from Spellbinders is the Star Circle and Stars Five Nestabilities.  The star border is a Martha Stewart punch and the film strip is from Tim Holtz.  The Lattice Doily Border is La-La-Land Crafts.

Another co-worker's birthday card.  I got a little sassy with this one.  The image is KennyK Stamps' Cheers Dude and he's colored with Copics.  The sentiment is from 7Gypsies (Hampton Art).  The die is Stitched Bracket Border (La-La-Land Crafts).

And finally, a CAS card featuring KennyK Stamps' Hockey.  He was colored with Copics and fussy cut.  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up.

Goblin Queen

Hi there!  Anyone fall victim to an April Fool's joke today?  I can happily say I did not.  Yet, anyway.  I'm just popping in to share a card.  I am so far behind with my blogging!  I have several cards that are just waiting to be shown to the world, but there never seems to be enough time in the day lately.  I am fighting a cold (and it's winning) but I wanted to share my Goblin Queen creation for the Simply B Stamps Facebook Fan Group challenge.  The image was free but there was a catch- you had to color her up and create a project choosing either her "light side" or her "dark side".  I went with light and this is the result.

She is colored with Copics and cut with Romantic Rectangles (Spellbinders).  I added Crystal Stickles to her wings.  The spider web die is from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I recently picked up some resin frames from the Michaels dollar section and I've used one here with a sentiment from The Artful Stamper.  Papers are Basic Grey - Euphria - Delirium.  I added a couple of bling flourishes and a few flowers to finish off the card.

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, R20, R81, R83, R85, R89, YG11, YG13, B00, B02, BG72

Thankful

Hello there!  How is everyone? Any Black Friday shoppers out there?  I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving!  I have a few cards to share before I head off on my annual shopping adventure with my best friend.

Little Turkey from Aurora Wings was a with purchase freebie I received this month.  He is colored with Copics and cut using the Classic Circles Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  The image is then matted on Pic of Edge Circles Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  Papers are The Pumpkin Patch stack from DCWV.  I added a couple of flowers and a few flat back adhesive pearls.  I gave this creation to my parents from me and my little turkey.

Markers used: Copics (E00, E04, E07, E09, E11, E21, E23, E25, E27, E31, E70, E74, E79, R20, Y38, YR24)

Next up is an image from Simply B Stamps called Chris and Little Appetite.  It's part of the Teen Scene Dragon Pets collection.  The image I colored with Copics and cut using the Labels Ten Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I added a Tim Holtz metal arrow and corner as well as a stamped sentiment cut with the Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics (My Favorite Things).  Papers are also The Pumpkin Patch stack (DCWV). This card went to my small man (who refused to even eat any turkey, by the way!).

Markers used: Copics (E00, E04, E11, E21, E23, E25, E27, E31, E70, E74, R20, V95, V99, YG91, YG93. YG95)

My final card features Feather Crown from Saturated Canary.  She is absolutely gorgeous, isn't she?  Krista was kind enough to offer her as a freebie recently.  This beauty was colored with Copics and with the Resplendent Rectangles Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I added Shabby White Fran-tage to the image panel and highlighted her eyes with Glossy Accents. Papers are once again The Pumpkin Patch stack (DCWV).  Flowers, pearls, and a feather embellish this card I made for my best friend.

Markers used: Copics (E00, E04, E07, E09, E11, E21, E23, E31, E35, E37, E39, E59, E79, R20, Y32, Y38, YR15, YR18, YR24 )

Holy Smokes, Batman! Look Who's 5!

At 8:09am five years ago today, my life changed forever and I became a mom.  I have watched him grow and change and today, as we rush off to school at that same exact time, I can't help but think about how fast time goes by.  When did my small man get so big?!?!

I wanted to share the birthday card I made for him.  I always ask him what he would like on his card.  This year the answer was Batman.  I was a little sad it wasn't Star Wars as that is the theme of his presents and cake (also by his request), but it's his birthday so Batman it is!  I colored up Teen Scene Goes Hollywood Christian the Dark Hero from Simply B Stamps for the occasion.  He is colored with Copics, fussy cut, popped up on foam squares, and layered on top of a Classic Ovals Nestabilities from Spellbinders.  Papers are Recollections - Comic Hero.  The sketch is courtesy of Digi Sketch Challenge.   They have an optional theme as well but I didn't follow that this time.  I used a Martha Stewart bat border punch as well as the city skyline Die-namics from My Favorite Things.  I added a sentiment on their Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics.  The "5" is a glitter chipboard number sticker from my stash.

We have a big evening planned with a birthday trip to Chuck E Cheese.  (I'm a firm believer that birthdays are super special and should be celebrated to their full potential!)  Happy 5th Birthday, Kayne!  Momma loves you to the forest moon of Endor and to Gotham City and back, buddy!

Markers used: Copics (E00, E04, E11, E21, YG93, N0, N2, N4, N6, N8, Y35, B32, B34, B37).

Challenges:
- Cuttlebug Mania: Anything Die Cut
- Top Tip Tuesday: Kids (My tip: when designing my cards I lay everything out on the card first, as a "mock up", before I use any adhesive.  This way I can change anything that doesn't look quite right.)
- Crafts Galore Encore: #9-Make A Card

Hello!  Welcome to the 200th challenge of The Corrosive Challenge!  We are celebrating in style with a dozen awesome sponsors who have provided amazing prizes!  Want to win?  All you have to do is enter our Anything Goes challenge or participate in our blog hop or BOTH!  Each team member has been assigned a sponsor to work with and they will be giving away the prize donated by that sponsor!  Leave comments on the DT's blogs as you go for a chance to win!  A random winner will be selected from each blog!  PLUS play along with the challenge for a chance at a £15 gift voucher to Crafts and Me (that's about $25 US)!  Check out the blog for all the details and the full list of fabulous sponsors!

I was assigned Simply B Stamps.  Ok, so not so much "assigned" as requested.  Well, insisted, really.  I haven't had occasion to work with one of Betty's images in a while so when she offered a $20 gift voucher for the hop, I was thrilled!  She also generously allowed me to select an image to work with!  I choose  Sleeping Beauty from the Steampunk Fairytales and Myths collection.  These are drawn by artist Abigail Larson.

Sleeping Beauty is colored with Copics and fussy cut.  My layout is based on the Sketch File's May sketch (HERE).  I used my Classic Ovals and Floral Ovals Nestabilities (Spellbinders) as well as a couple of butterfly punches from Martha Stewart.  I then added plenty of flowers, some pearls, a metal filigree corner, and two pins.  Papers are My Mind's Eye - Everyday Tango.

I'm the last stop on the hop,  but here is the complete order in case you just happened upon my post:

Now hop along if you haven't already!  And don't forget to link up to our "Anything Goes" 200th challenge!

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Turkey Day!  Today, and every day, I have so much to be thankful for!  My handsome small man, a roof over our heads, food in our bellies, good health, loving family, wonderful friends...  I am grateful for all that I have and feel so fortunate that I am able to indulge in this fabulous hobby of mine on top of it all!  I've made some cards for the holiday and wanted to share them.  The first is for the current Simply B Stamps Facebook group challenge (November Challenge).  This is Little Indian Betty and she was free for those who wanted to play along with the challenge.  She is now available in the SBS shop (as is her counterpart Pilgrim Corinne).  The theme for Betty was to use feathers.  That was easy enough.  I am cutting it really close to the deadline, but what else is new?  lol

Papers are The Pumpkin Patch by DCWV.  I actually used this stack on all cards I'm showing off today.  It was just the perfect go to paper for all my Fall creations!  I matted the image on a Floral Ovals Nestabilities die cut (Spellbinders) and added my feather, flowers, and pearls.  Sketch is the current Sweet Sketch Wednesday (#234).

The next three cards all feature images from Saturated Canary: Scratch, Princess Harvest, and Cornelia.

This is Scratch.  Isn't he adorable?  The sketch is last week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday (#233).  I kept this one pretty simple.  I used a border die from My Favorite Things and a maple leaf punch.  The sentiment is from a Clear Dollar Stamps set.

Next up is Princess Harvest.

The sketch for this one is the very last one from Crafting Life's Pieces (#64).  I LOVE these sketches and I was very sad to hear they were closing the challenge blog!  It looks like I heaped on the embellishments on this one but it's really just flowers, pearl clusters, and flower trim from Tim Holtz.  I used Labels Eight Nestabiliies (Spellbinders) to cut out the image.

And lastly, here is Cornelia.

She's sweet and simple with a couple of pearls, some flowers, and a Tim Holtz muse token.  The sketch is Papertake Weekly (#85).

I am looking forward to spending quality snuggle time on the couch with Kayne while we watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade on TV in the morning.  Then we will head to my parents' for a delicious turkey family dinner!  And of course, it wouldn't be Thanksgiving without a little Black Friday shopping!  I won't venture out until after noon (no crazy doorbusting for me!) but it's a yearly tradition with my best friend that we love!  The rest of the weekend will be spent in a decorating frenzy!

To all my US readers: a happy and safe Thanksgiving!  Thanks for stopping by to see me today!  I am grateful for all my followers and for the lovely comments you leave!
