The Paper Shelter Extravaganza

Hi!  I have decided that if every day were 48 hours instead of 24 I might actually get some things accomplished!  Like blogging my non-design team cards!  I have such a back log of them that I don't even know where to start!  Ok, so maybe I'll start here with The Paper Shelter.  I've got a couple of school themed cards followed by miscellaneous craftiness for varying occasions!

Up first is the card I made for my son for back to school.  He went back last week, but traditionally (when I was growing up) the week after Labor Day was when classes started.  This cute image is In the Class and he is colored with Copics.

And thank goodness for the teachers who spend 6 hours a day with our precious littles and teach them things, often giving so much of themselves in the process.  I always try to make and give teacher appreciation cards and gifts twice during the year - once for National Teacher's Appreciation Day and once for the last day of school.  (They usually get cards and treat for Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine's Day too!  Because they deserve it!) . This card was for my son's 3rd grade teacher at the end of school this past June.  This image is Vintage Teacher and she is colored with Copics.

Back To School Madness

Hi there!  Well, we successfully navigated the first week of school here and are now set to enjoy a long holiday weekend!  I thought I'd try to use some of the time to get caught up on a few things...  like blogging!

I still can't quite believe that my little man is in second grade!  We have a little tradition where I make him a special first day of school breakfast (with bacon, of course) and a card.  This year I used the adorable Back To School Madness digi from The Paper Shelter.  I colored the image wih Copics and then cut and matted it using Classic Circles Nestabilities (Spellbinders).

It's no surprise that I piled on some dies (although not nearly as many as some of my cards).  Here I've used Tim Holtz Weathered Clock (Sizzix) as well as Book Brackets, Clipboard Border, and Brackets and Arrows (La-La-Land Crafts).  The notebook edge is a border punch.  The fishtail flag is either a die or a punch.  I can't remember which!  Lol  The "test" is from a 12x12 designer paper that has been in my stash forever called The Boyfriend Papers by Cosmo Cricket.  Black paper clip and 2nd Grade sticker are also from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by and wishing a wonderful Labor Day weekend to my US followers!

Christmas in Review

Hello!  Hope everyone's holiday season has been filled with all the joy and warmth of the season!  Mine was and I can't believe it's almost time to say good-bye to 2014!  But before we do, I have a little Christmas in review.

I haven't done as much crafting since the small man started Kindegarten in September, but I want to make a few special things for school.  I also wanted to give my coworkers a little something handmade for the holiday to go along with my homemade treats.

My first card features Saturated Canary's Stockings, and she was given to the Kindergarten aide.  This cutie is colored with Copics.  I used a sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 (#38).  Papers are Authentique - Festive.  I added a few flowers and pieces from a cut paper straw.  The sentiment is from a There She Goes set called Holiday Additions.

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E23, E31, E51, E55, R20, R24, R46, R89, YG93, YG95, YG97.

Next is Pixie Dust Cloud (also from Saturated Canary) done up for the holidays, but with some fun, non-traditional colors, for the lovely school secretary (who is always so kind to us and helps find older kids to walk Kayne to class if we are late).  She is colored with Copics and cut using Labels Sixteen Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  The layout is courtesy of Seems A Little Sketchy (#80).  Papers are My Mind's Eye - Merry Little Christmas.  A few flowers from my stash complete the card.

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, R20, R24, R46, R81, R85, BG10, BG72, BG75, YG93.

I also made a trio of cute little chalkboard door hangers for my co-workers.  This is Molly (Saturated Canary), colored with Copics and fussy cut.  I kept the hangers simple and used the same basic layout for all three by adding some designer paper, flowers, and a wood veneer sentiment.  Papers here are My Mind's Eye - Lost & Found Christmas Special Edition.

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E31, E34, E51, E53, Y32, Y35, YG91, YG93, YG95, YG97, R24, R46, R89, N0, N2.

This is Christmas Angel (Saturated Canary).  Papers are My Mind's Eye - Christmas.

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E23, E31, E79, R20, R24, R32, R46, R89, N0, N2, N4, N6, Y28, YG91, YG93, YG95.

And finally, Holiday Shopping (The Paper Shelter).  Papers are also My Mind's Eye - Christmas.

Copics used:  E00, E04, E11, E21, E23, E31, E51, E53, E55, E79, R20, R24, R32, R46, R89, N0, N2, N4, N6, Y28, YG91, YG93, YG95

I will be back in a few with some more holiday cards, all featuring the gorgeous art work of Mitzi Sato-Wiuff of Aurora Wings!

The Corrosive Challenge #208 - Autumn/Fall

Hello!  I know I've been super quiet lately!  I'm still trying to adjust to our new schedule and there has been a lot going on behind the scenes this month!  I did manage to get a card made for our newest challenge over at The Corrosive Challenge!  One of my favorite sponsor is back so I had to play along!  This fortnight we are welcoming The Paper Shelter!  Not only were we given our choice of two image to play with but there is a $20 gift certificate up for grabs for our winner!  They are also currently having a Design Team Call!  Details can be found HERE.  I'm entering as I love these adorable images and would be thrilled to have a place on the team.

The theme is another favorite of mine: Autumn/Fall!  I love this season and I'm so happy it's here!  I selected Autumn Attitude and she is colored with Copics.  I sponged the sky/clouds behind her in Baja Breeze ink using a template my teamie Michelle made for me some time ago.  The sketch is Sketch Saturday (#327).  Papers are The Pumpkin Patch stack (DCWV).  I added a Martha Stewart border punch, a leaf, and a bling flourish.

Be sure to head over to the challenge blog and check out the autumnal splendor on display!  The small man and I are headed off for a hike today with one of my brothers and his new furbaby to enjoy a little bit of Fall ourselves!

She's So Pretty

Hi! I'm just popping in with a quick share of a card I made for a co-worker's daughter.  For her 12th birthday she requested a hair and nail party so naturally I thought of So Pretty from The Paper Shelter.  She is colored with Copics and cut using the Classic Ovals Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I cut a frame for her using Floral Ovals and Classic Ovals Nestabilities (Spellbinders) and popped it up on foam squares.  Papers are DCWV - Vintage Collector.  I added flowers, Tim Holtz film strip and memo pin, and the Magnolia View Master Doohickey die.  The nail polish bottle is from a My Favorite Things stamp set called Girls Day In.  The sentiment was a freebie from Create with TLC and is cut with a Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics from My Favorite Things.

I finally have a clean craft desk again so I'm hoping to spend some time there this week.  Check back to see what I've been up to!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!  I loved these two mariachi guys from The Paper Shelter and decided to color them up for my best friend.  I'm pretty sure her affinity for Cinco de Mayo is all about fabulous margaritas, but every year I try to make her a card.

The image Los Mariachis is colored with Copics and cut using the Classic Squares Nestabilities from Spellbinders.  It's matted on the Lacy Squares Nestabilities (also from Spellbinders).  Papers are DCWV Fiesta Forever.  I added a few flowers, some rhinestones, and a Flag Banner from La-La-Land Crafts.

I have a very busy week ahead of me so I'm keeping this post brief.  Hope you have wonderful week planned and thanks for the visit!

You're Not Old, You're Vintage

Hey there!   How is everyone's week going?  I am already tired, and we're barely half way through!  lol  Sometimes I think I should go to bed earlier...  But then when would I craft?!?!

Today I'm showing off the card I made for my aunt's birthday.  We don't see her often, but every holiday she sends Kayne a card with $1 in it.  He thinks it's awesome to get that happy mail so I thought we'd send her some back!  I colored up The Paper Shelter's Vintage Seamstress for the occasion.  My aunt sews and quilts so it's a perfect image.  Also I like how well it paired with the 7gypsies (Hampton Arts) sentiment.  The sentiment is cut using the Fishtails Flags Stax Die-namics from My Favorite Things.  I then used oodles of sewing embellishments on this.  I recently picked up the Tim Holtz Dress Form Bigz die (Sizzix) on clearance at Joann Fabrics.  It also comes with the spool die that I wrapped baker's twine around.  Plus there was a button die as well that I didn't use.  I opted for real buttons instead.  My Lovely View die from Little Darlings Stamps (made by Spellbinders) finally arrived and I couldn't wait to use it!!!  Finally, I added a few flowers, a couple of pins, and a bit of measuring tape ribbon.  Papers are Crate Paper - DIY Shop.

This was a fun one to make!  The Paper Shelter has such adorable images!  I really have the coloring bug lately and have found myself wishing I could just devote an entire day to it.  No responsibilities, no cares.  Just me and my Copics!  I still need to make time for the fabulous Kit and Clowder classes too!  Kayne asked me to color with him after work so we will be making masterpieces in his Angry Birds coloring books for sure!  (But I will have several more cards to share with you this week so stay tuned!)

Have a fabulous day!

Markers used: Copics (E00, E11, E21, E31, E74, E79, Y28, Y35, R24, R27, R32, N0, N2, N4, N6, BG10, BG72).

- Bunny Zoe Crafts: April-Distress

The Corrosive Challenge #197 - Pretty Pastels

Spring has finally arrived here in New England and my crafting has suffered for it!  After such a long, cold, snowy Winter this fairer weather is literally a breath of fresh air and has the small man and I outside and enjoying a bit of desperately needed warmth and sunshine!  I only made two cards last week, one of which I'm going to share with you today for the new Corrosive Challenge.

Our sponsor this fortnight is The Paper Shelter.  With their collection of sweet and adorable digital stamps they are perfect for any crafting occasion!  The really cool thing is that you not only receive a black and white line art version, but also a colored version as well- perfect for when you're crunched for time or if you just don't "do" coloring.  There's usually a fabulous background digital paper and collage composition included too, all for one low price!  The Paper Shelter is offering an awesome prize to our winner so you'll want to play along for your chance at a $20 gift certificate to their online shop!

Our theme for the challenge, Pretty Pastels, is perfect for Spring and the upcoming Easter holiday!  The Paper Shelter has generously supplied the team with two images but I've been shopping there (twice!) recently and decided to work with this beautiful new release called Rose.  She is colored with Copics and cut using the Classic Cirlces Nestabilities by Spellbinders.  I received this new Magnolia Doohickeys die in the mail (after a really long wait, thanks USPS) and couldn't wait to use it!  It's called ViewMaster and I cut a piece of Crumb Cake card stock with it then sponged the edges with Distress Ink in Vintage Photo.  I also used another new die and matching stamp set, both from Whimsy Stamps.  These are called Tiny Shapes die set and Spell It Out.  I created the "HI" sentiment with them.  I added cheesecloth, a punched butterfly (Martha Stewart), flatback adhesive pearls, and a Tim Holtz Pen Nib.  Papers are DCWV - Vintage Collector.

I don't usually purposely work with pastels so this was indeed a challenge for me, but I love how she turned out.  I hope you'll pop over to The Corrosive Challenge blog to see what soft and subtle creations the rest of the team has to share!

Markers used: Copics (E00,E11,E13, E15,E17, E19, E21, R32, R81, R85, BG10, BG72, YG61).
