Some Odd Girl Beach Party

Hi!  It's been a busy week for me and I'm back with my 4th blog post!  Some Odd Girl has been having a beach party all week over at the Some Odd Girl Community Facebook group!  You can join us HERE for games, challenges, prizes, and lots of fun!

Today I'm posting a project for the challenge I'm in charge of.  It is a photo inspiration challenge!  These are always so much fun because everyone interprets the photo in a different way so the resulting creations are fabulously diverse!  Here is the inspiration!

I colored Cheers Kaylee for my project.  I choose her because she has a drink in her hand that reminded me of the one in the photo.  She is colored with Copics and fussy cut.  I then built a scene for her using the Beach Scene Builder Die-namics from My Favorite Things.  I have been trying to experiment with Distress Inks lately and the water and sky were done with them.  I added a Make It Crafty chipboard word sentiment (with its placement it sort of reminds me of those airplanes that do sky writing) and stamped a secondary sentiment on the "sand".

Products Used
La-La Land Crafts Jaws Because Clear Stamp Set
La-La Land Crafts Clouds Border
My Favorite Things Beach Scene Builder
Make It Crafty Happy Birthday Cursive Outline Chipboard Sentiment
Distress Inks-Faded Jeans, Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean

Some Odd Girl Design Team Inspiration: Beach Babe Kaylee

Hey there!  Yup, I'm back with another blog post!  It's been a busy week!  We are having a fun Beach Party this week over in the Some Odd Girl Community Facebook group.  If you haven't visited us, you should check it out!  There are games and challenges and prizes and lots of fun!  The project I made today uses two of the challenges set by my design team mates for the party. One challenge is to make Anything but a Card and the other is Beach Blanket Bingo!
I decided to make a bookmark and used the center vertical row on the bingo card (Yellow, Stripes, SOG Image, Tropical, Washi).

I colored Beach Babe Kaylee with Copics and fussy cut her.  The bookmark itself was made using the Brainy Bookmarks die from SugarPea Designs.  I cut a base from some heavy chipboard that I had saved from some packaging.  I added card stock, striped designer paper, the die cut Hibiscus Border (La-La Land Crafts), flamingo washi tape, a white eyelet, and a tassel.   Reading has always been one of my favorite things about Summer and having a cute bookmark always makes it even better!

La-La Land Crafts Die - Hibiscus Border
SugarPea Designs Die - Brainy Bookmarks

Make It Crafty Design Team Inspiration: Classy Olivia

Hello!  It's my week to post some Make It Crafty inspiration!  It's been hot and humid here and crafting in the air conditioning hasn't seemed like such a bad idea!  Three design teams keep me plenty busy!  Today I colored Classy Olivia and fussy cut her.  I kept my card design simple, with a white embossed panel and die cut frame.  I love my dies but I have been really enjoying mixing up my style a bit lately and doing some slightly more CAS creations!  Of course I couldn't resist adding a yummy MIC chipboard sentiment, which I also colored with Copics!

Hi! It's Regan with my Some Odd Girl blog post for the month.  I'm stopping in to share my latest project with you!

Every month we host a month long challenge in the Some Odd Girl Community Facebook group.  You can enter your SOG creations for a chance to win and there is always a fun (optional) theme!  This month the optional twist is VACATION ACTIVITIES!  Perfect for Summer, but don't limit your imagination to the warmer months!

We headed out to the lake last week for a refreshing and relaxing day of floating in its waters so I was inspired to color up Innertube Tia for my card.  She is colored with Copics and die cut.  I used Patti's July sketch as my layout. The sentiment is from a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps set called Treena Twinkles.

Some Odd Girl Design Team Inspiration: Shark Cat

Hello!  It's Shark Week!  Though it's almost over, in honor of that (and as a prelude to the SOG beach party next week) I am sharing my project using Shark Cat!  The look on his face cracks me up!  He is colored with Copics, fussy cut, and popped up on foam squares.  This was my first attempt at using Distress Inks for anything other than inking the edges of my card stock.  I'm going to have to practice, but I think I have found a new obsession!  I even misted it with watering (using the Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Sprayer).  The sentiment is from a La-La Land Crafts clear stamp set called Jaws Because.

Some Odd Girl Design Team Inspiration: Coffee

Hi!  It's Thursday (well, it was when I started writing anyway) and that's my day to share a little Some Odd Girl inspiration with you!  Today I have Coffee Lover Mae!  She is totally me.  Messy bun?  Check.  Coffee?  Check.

I used two awesome products from SugarPea Designs to create my sign board card!  I then added some foam squares to the back of Mae, after fussy cutting her, to give her a bit of dimension.  I love how it turned out!  A bit simpler than you're used to from me, but I have been having fun experimenting with some different styles lately!

Some Odd Girl June 2018 Recap

Hi there!  I am sharing a card I made for Some Odd Girl's June new release recap!  There were a ton of great new images released during the month but the one I was most excited about was the release of the Under the Sea Mae set!  This was originally a clear set that has now been digi-fied!  I absolutely LOVE these mermaids and had so much fun creating this card with them!  Check out all the images that were released last month HERE and be prepared to OOOH and AAAH over all the design team creations because they are fantastic!  If you want to go shopping for SOG images, go HERE!  New images can be found HERE!

I colored my two lovely mermaids with Copics and painstakingly fussy cut them.  I wanted to try a multidimensional card base so I die cut the " window" in a piece of patterned paper and backed it with foam squares.  I used a second piece of the same ombre patterned paper to die cut the inside panel of the window.  I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Momento ink on this panel and then proceeded to layer up a bunch of my ocean themed dies from La-La Land Crafts.

Products Used

Some Odd Girl Digi Image: Under the Sea Mae
La-La Land Crafts Dies: Small Nested Frames, Ropes, Knot, Heart Anchor, Sea Critters, Fishing Net, Sea Bubbles Border, Seaweed, Seaweed Border, Tropical Wave Border, Under the Sea
