La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Monday: BIG WORDS

Happy Monday!  This is my last Inspiration Monday post as guest designer for La-La Land Crafts!  Gosh, that was fast, huh?!?!  I have loved every minute of it and will treasure the experience!

Today in La-La Land the theme is BIG WORDS!  I have created two shaker cards (my very first time trying this technique) for my best friend's twin daughters.  They turned Sweet 16 this month, and I wanted something special for them.

First up is Birthday Gift Molli.  She is colored with Copics and fussy cut.  I popped her up with foam squares for added dimension.  The shaker part was created using the Double Stitched Square, a piece of acetate (I cut up a clear report cover for this purpose), and iridescent sequins purchased at Michaels for the occasion.  Patterned paper is Garden Party by Pebbles.  Flowers are from my stash.

Second is Selfie Molli.  She is also colored with Copics, fussy cut, and popped up on foam squares.  Here I used the Polaroid frame in the Photo Elements to create the shaker part.  I used some of the brand new adhesive vinyl from LLLC for the crown and the numbers.  See how they sparkle and shimmer?!?!  Patterned paper is from Stampin' Up and flowers are from my stash.

Make A Wish!

Hello! I have been around the crafting block a time or two in my decade or so of card making.  I've been a part of or in charge of several design teams in that time.  Sometimes you have a team so fabulous that though they are spread near(ish) and far and you have never met in real life, you just feel like family!  KennyK Stamps is that kind of team for me!  And so when one of our own has a special birthday (40th!  Holla!) we celebrate!  Please join me in wishing Nick a very Happy Birthday!!!

This card, featuring Jeannie from KennyK Stamps, that I made especially for the birthday girl is winging it's way to her as we speak, but I wanted to share it online today so she would know she is being wished the very best on this special occasion!  Happy 40th, Nick!

Check out all the details for my card below.

La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Monday: Photo/Color Inspiration

Hi!  My month as guest designer at La-La Land Crafts seems to be just flying by!  Today I am back with a Photo/Color Inspiration theme!  We were given the gorgeous photo below to spark our creativity!

I chose Sewing Faerie Marci to color in the same scheme as the photo.  I also incorporated flowers into the card (in the patterned paper, flower banner die, and flower embellishments).  I used my Copics then fussy cut and popped up the image with foam squares.  I added a few sewing related items with the crystal pins, button, and wooden spool wrapped in baker's twine.  She is going to be a birthday card for my aunt who loves to quilt.

Happy St. Patrick's Day 2017

Hello!  Happy (Belated) St. Patrick's Dayand Kayne's half birthday!  Yes, that's a thing.  I've made it a thing.  Lol  (I'm a day late in posting this, but that's typical.  Fashionably late to every party!)

To celebrate we always have some sort of green frosted baked good and I make him a card.  This year we had rainbow chip cupcakes, and I colored up Lucky Leprechaun from Some Odd GirlThe sentiment is one of those $1 deals you find in the bins by the register at your local craft store.  I used foam squares to pop up and add dimension to both the fussy cut image and sentimentI added a few of black flat-back pearls and a couple of gold hearts done with a Martha Stewart punch.  Shamrock paper is from my stash.  See my product list below for all the other details.

I've entered SOG's March challenge HERE.  It's Anything Goes with an optional twist: Pop-Up!

La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Monday: One for the Girls

Hello!  Happy Monday!  I'm back for week two of my guest designer spot with La-La Land Crafts!  Today the theme is One for the Girls.  Here in the US we celebrate Mother's Day in May, but in the UK they honor their moms at the end of March so this theme fits perfectly!

I decided to get ahead of the game and make my mom's Mother's Day card even though it's still two months away.  I colored up Owl Hat Marci for the occasion.  Anyone who knows me knows I tend to be a last minute crafter so this is a big deal that I'm so early!  Lol  Marci's super cute and was a blast to color!  My supplies are listed below.  I dug deep in the embellishments drawer and pulled out some old pink pearl brads for the corner.  The memo pin is from Tim Holtz.  The lace and flowers are from my stash.

La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Monday: Anything Goes

Hello!  I am SO excited to be sharing my first post as guest designer for La-La Land Crafts!  I have the honor of participating with the team for the month of March and I couldn't be happier!

This week in La-La Land it is Anything Goes!  I absolutely love all of the coffee themed goodies from the January release so I decided to color up Cool Beans Luka

I discovered La-La Land Crafts in 2010 and fell in love with Luka because his sweet round face reminded me of my then 1 year old son, Kayne.  I think Formal Luka was my first digital stamp and Football Luka was my first rubber stamps.  Seven years later and I still use Luka for cards for my little man.  Even sometimes when they're not necessarily intended for him.  Lol He saw this Cool Beans Luka colored image sitting on my craft desk and asked if I was making a card.  I said I was.  His response "Ok, good, can I have it?"  The next day when he saw the finished project he told me he couldn't help asking for it because he loves my cards.  Awww!  Bazillion dollars spent on dies justified!  :-)
