Make It Crafty: New Release Blog Hop

We're Celebrating Friendships with a Hot Cuppa and a fun Make It Crafty blog hop!  You should have arrived here from the lovely Sadia's blog.  (If you've gotten lost, the complete list is at the bottom of this post.)

One of my favorite past times with friends is sitting around, having a cuppa, and chatting.  I am more than happy to do this via social media (and often do) but it's hard to beat that face to face interaction with a friend.  Nothing is better than literally getting to LOL with a friend IRL.  You get to see their body language, facial expressions, and hand gestures, all while drinking way too much coffee!

I don't see my friends, near or far, nearly enough in my opinion.  So it's nice to be able to send them some love in the mail and that is where my cards come in!  There is nothing like receiving a handmade gift to remind you how special you are!  And I can tell you that giving them makes me feel pretty good too!

With that in mind this month we are releasing some awesome chipboard sentiments focused in friendship, coffee, and tea!  And thanks to artist Krista Smith there are some fabulous new release images to go along with them!

Please join us on the hop and be inspired to win one of two fantastic prizes!

Be sure to leave comments along the way and Zoe will be picking a winner from two random posts!  Winners will be announced and contacted on Thursday, February 22nd so get hoppin'!

For my project, I printed Coffee and Yarn (the version without the yarn, bag, and glasses) a bit larger than I normally would and cropped her.  She was then colored with Copic markers.  All dies used are from La-La Land Crafts.  Here I've featured the following: Coffee Cup, Coffee Beans Heart, Napkin (from Spoon and Napkin set), Triangle Lace Border, Sunburst, Stitched Nested Circles, and Scallop Border.  And of course that gorgeous chippie is from Make It Crafty!  I also colored the sentiment with Copics, but there are so many options to choose from when finishing your chippies!  From Stickles to Glossy Accents to Distress Inks and more!  They are so fun to work with and you can find something perfect for every occasion by combing them with each other or with stamped sentiments!

Make It Crafty Inspiration Design: Hello Sunshine

Hi there!  It's been a busy week with Valentine's Day in the middle of it all, but I still found some time to color up this gorgeous new digi from Make It Crafty!  I don't usually color flowers so this one was a bit different for me, but I loved the challenge!  Zoe has a whole selection of gorgeous new floral images in the shop!  She has all the elements available separately so you can build your own or you can choose from several gorgeous pre-made options like the one I've used here!  Hello Flower Arrangement is colored with Copics and popped onto a relatively CAS (for me!) card.  The only dies I've used are two from La-La Land crafts: Filigree Elements Border and Filigree Border.  The fun part was deciding which awesome chipboard word to pair with it!  I could have used "Beautiful" or "Gorgeous" but I finally settled on "Sunshine"!

Make It Crafty February Coloring Challenge: Add Extra Details

February is traditionally the month of hearts and flowers, but at Make It Crafty it's all about details...  This month's coloring challenge is to use a black pen to Add Extra Details (such as zigzags, stripes, dots, patterns, etc) to your image.  Now normally altering a digi stamp is against most companies' Terms of Use, but Zoe has given us a free pass this time with her MIC images.  Please be sure to always contact an artist or company owner for special permission before altering other digi images.

I wanted to color Ginger for a birthday card but she looks a bit, ahem, au natural under all that hair despite the off the shoulder sleeve that the artist drew.  I added a scoop neckline and right side definition to her shirt with my fine tip Copic multiliner.  She is colored with Copics and though her hair took me hours it was definitely worth the effort!

I dressed up the card with my usual assortment of dies, all from La-La Land Crafts.  For this project I used Hello Tag, Presents Border, Filigree Candle, Build-a-Frame Fancy Large, Fancy Doily Border, Stitched Elements, and Booktab and Labels.  I added some flowers and a flat back pearl from my stash plus one of MIC's awesome chipboard words!  I colored Wishes with my Copics and paired it with a stamped sentiment.

Hope you liked my crafty inspiration!  Join us over at the challenge for your chance to win one of three $5 gift vouchers for the MIC shop!  To be eligible you must use at least ONE Make It Crafty product on your project and follow the challenge theme.  All coloring mediums are welcome and your entry does not have to be a finished project.  Enter our Add Extra Details coloring challenge HERE!
