Why is it that my mojo chooses the most crucial moments to go MIA? I have known for quite some time that I have cards galore due this week and yet I've procrastinated with abandon! I've spent my evenings cuddling with the small man, reading, or sleeping. I don't know what my deal is! I usually thrive under these conditions, but sometimes... sometimes it's a battle to choose the craft desk over the couch! And this was one of those weeks. I did manage to get in gear this evening to make this card for the preview of some brilliant graduation images from Sassy Studio Designs! Lindsay has been hard at work finishing up a mix of amazing new images which will all debut in the store tomorrow, Saturday, May 19th! If you've been following the peviews, so far we've shown you Marie Antoinette and a very cool mom (who was a freebie on Sunday if you were lucky enough to grab her then)! Today we have the graduates for you! There are 3 new graduation images: Graduation (the Sassy young woman I've used above), Chelsea's Graduation, and The Graduate (a male image). Pop over to the Sassy Studio Designs blog to see samples from my team mates using these fabulous images! And as a bonus I think there are even a few peeks of Katniss, Sassy on Fire over there as well!
I have an order for some graduation cards due this weekend so this image was perfect timing for me! I received a few details as to school colors and the recipient's appearance and took it from there. It's for a high school graduation, but I wanted something a little different than your usual diplomas and mortarboards. I think what I ended up with is cool and shabby chic. Hopefully just the thing a young lady about to start a new chapter of her life would like to receive!
Papers are Basic Grey - Kissing Booth. I was super excited to use my new Nesties, the Floral Ovals! I just received them in the mail this week (I love eBay!)! When I saw the May sketch over at priscillastyles Midnight Madness (MMSC138) I knew they were getting christened! I also used a notebook edge border punch, a houndstooth embossing folder, and my usual assortment of flowers and pearls. The sentiment is a dimensional sticker from Jolee's Boutique.

December has finally arrived and holiday preparations are in full swing here! I can't believe the countdown to Christmas has begun... I'm in good shape with cards as not everyone gets a hand-made one. I do photo cards of the small man as well, of course! We had them taken at Target again this year, with Santa, and despite having a less than cooperative child, I was pleased with the end result. I really like their work there, and with a coupon the prices aren't all that bad. Plus I earned $50 off a future purchase! Woo hoo! Their customer service is excellent - without hesitation they re-ordered my cards TWICE due to typos and then gave me free photos when I came in to pick them up! Impressive! And I work in customer service so I should know!
But anyway, enough about THOSE cards and on to this one! It's time for another Dare To Be Sassy Thursday over at Sassy Studio Designs and this week the theme is Holiday Sparkle! We want to see your creations sparkle, shimmer, and shine! It could be glitter, jewels, foil.... whatever pretty, shiny things you have in your crafty stash is okay by us! I opted for glittered designer paper and adhesive rhinestones. The image is a sweet one from last year's holiday collection simply called "The Nutcracker". She is colored with Copics and Prismacolor Art Markers and the highlights on her dress are a white gel pen. I embossed one panel with snowflakes and added a few flowers and punched branches for texture. The layout is courtesy of MMSC132 over on the priscillastyles blog. The Midnight Madness sketches always have two versions to choose from, and I selected the fancy one here.

Happy Halloween!!! My favorite holiday has arrived! Sadly, a freak autumn snowstorm that dumped a foot of snow in my area and cause wide spread power outages has resulted in the re-scheduling of trick or treating! I didn't even know they could do that! Santa had better watch out... No one is safe! So we will now be celebrating on Friday. It is disappointing to me, but thankfully my small man isn't old enough yet to understand so he won't be upset by it. I plan to spend this evening with my parents, and we may dress him up and parade him down their street to the neighbors anyway. He is going to be the cutest Frankenstein ever! lol
I have my last couple of Halloween cards to share with you. One for his dad, the other for my parents. The first is the one I made for his father. As some of you know, we have a mostly cordial relationship, that had hit a bit of a rough patch the past six months or so. Things will never go back to what they were, but a new acceptance has emerged and it has been peaceful again for a few weeks now. I have always wanted to be the kind of co-parents who could sit next to each other at their kid's soccer game and talk, be friendly & warm to each other, and be genuine about it. Maybe one day all the hurt and the bad feelings will heal, but in the meantime, this small gesture was what I could do to let him know that despite it all he has his son's love and my respect as his dad. Soon enough our little guy will be signing the cards himself. I used a Luka image from La-La Land Crafts because he reminds me SO much of my son. He is dressed in a skeleton Halloween costume and is just too cute to spook! And I couldn't resist a little playful jab with the sentiment. That gem is from Graphicats Designs. Papers are My Mind's Eye and the sketch is courtesy of priscillastyles Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC127). 
My last Halloween card of the year is for my parents. I selected FrankenJude from Simply Betty Stamps. He was a freebie she offered on her Paper Craft Planet group a few weeks back, and I was all too happy to make him mine! Since my son is dressing up as Frankie this year, I thought this was the perfect image to use for a card to his grandparents. I again used the humorous Graphicat Designs sentiment and the sketch is from Sketches by Carly (#43). Papers are Recollections from Michaels and the whole pack cost me $2.50! I love when I find an awesome bargain! And of course, the trusty Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch makes an appearance on BOTH cards! I have to say that was probably one of the best crafty purchases I've made! lol
I hope you have enjoyed my Halloween creations as much as I have enjoyed making them! All together I believe I churned out over two dozen Halloween cards since August! I hope your day is frightfully fun today and happy haunting! Though it will be an unusual Halloween here, we will still enjoy it regardless! It's Thursday which means another Sassy Studio Designs Dare To Be Sassy Thursday! Challenge #75 says NO patterned paper allowed! I nearly had a panic attack when I saw this! No designer paper with pretty color coordinated prints to help me with the creation of my card?! What was I going to do? So I thought back to what I used before I had a burgeoning stash of patterned paper and decided background stamps and dry embossing were the way to go. My image is Goldilocks Honey from Sassy Studio Designs' Fairy Tale collection. Isn't she sweet (and sassy)?! I used the "fancy" version of this week's priscillastyles Midnight Madness sketch (MMSC106) as my starting point and went from there. I have to say, it was kind of refreshing to go without the designer paper for once. Not that I'll make a habit of this, of course... lol But it's nice to know I can still do it!

So, I'm back as promised, though a tad later than I'd like, with my post for sketch #100 over at the priscillastyles Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. I love when I can use one of Priscilla's images on my creations made with her sketches, as I was able to do here. I just happened to visit the shop to take a peek at what was new and found Slot Mama. She was just what I was looking for! I, of course, chose the fancy version of the sketch to work with. It allowed me to add the pretty BoBunny flowers that match my paper.

It's Wednesday, and we're one day closer to the weekend! I am really proud of myself with this card... For the first time since I've been participating in Tickled Pink Stamps challenges I'm not rushing to beat the clock to get my submission in! lol I think it shows too! Challenge #14 is {PINK}. Easy enough, right? I used this week's priscillastyles Midnight Madness sketch, MMSC99, for my layout. These are fabulous because Priscilla gives you an option to use the simple or fancy version of the sketch. I always choose the fancy version since it is the one that has the fun embellishment elements added to it.
For my card I chose Lil Lolita Willow as my image. Don't you just love those big eyes of hers? This is the digi version which is currently not available. BUT, fear not! TPS owner Kellie will be having a special Digi Days from the 15th through the 21st of each month. During this time the images will be available for purchase as downloadable JPG files as well as their rubber counterparts! Since I'm impatient and love instant gratification (and because I love the versatility) I am so glad she has decided to do this! I've been opting for digis more and more these days. The paper is from a new stack I purchased recently. It's called The Blossom Song Stack. and it's from DCWV.
It is supposed to be a rainy, gloomy day here. I wish I could stay home all day and craft, but must get ready to go to work. Then it's a 2nd attempt at Easter/Spring pictures with my son. Our appointment on Saturday -which was stupidly scheduled by me during his normal nap time - was an epic fail so I'm hoping he's in a better mood (and thus more cooperative) this evening. Hello again! What a busy day this has been! I made two cards, participated in two party blogs, went on two blog hops, and wrote three blog posts! It has been an eventful day full of my favorite things - my son, shopping, and card making! I finally gave in to temptation and purchased a few Copic markers! I got mostly skin tone colors to start, but now I'm wishing I had some for hair as well. No, what I'm really wishing is I'll have a sudden windfall of cash so I can buy all 346 colors at once! Haha! A girl can dream, right?
Anywho... I love the Midnight Madness sketches so when I can I try to play along. Despite the crazy week I've had, I did manage to participate this week. Though you're not required to use a priscillastyles image in order to play along, I did. And why wouldn't you? They are such a value for the price! I received six different version of this Bulldog image with my purchase!
I wasn't sure at first that I was going to be able to coordinate MMSC94 to work with this image, but it just came together and I really like the way it turned out. The fun designer paper is a new stack from DCWV. The bling is Prima and the buttons are Stampin' Up to match my card stock. I'm not sure any self-respecting bulldog would wear a party hat... But, in this case, it just had to be done! It IS a birthday card after all!

Welcome to my first Corrosive Challenge design team post! I know my official start date is next week, but I am just so excited that they let me post my work on the blog starting with this week's challenge! The theme for this Sunday is Distressing! I always feel slightly guilty when I crumple, rip, sand, stain or ink perfectly good card stock, but I have to say the results can add a wonderful element to your card, especially if you are going for the shabby chic or vintage look. I find myself admiring these styles in others' cards so often, but I had rarely attempted them until recently. The card I've made for today's challenge definitely qualifies! I used an image from "priscillastyles" called Rose Corset for my creation. I also opted to use her sketch from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. There are always two versions to chose from: regular or fancy. For MMSC92, I went with the fancy one which had a couple of additional embellishments on it. You don't have to use a "priscillastyles" image on your project to play along, but I have been wanting to use this lovely corset digi for some time so what better time than now?! lol
I distressed the heck out of my Creamy Caramel panel. First, I sanded it. Then I crumpled and ripped the edges. Followed by a generous spritzing of Walnut Ink antiquing solution. And finally, I sponged some Chocolate Chip ink around the edges. I think the finished product has the look of old parchment. I paper pieced the corset image using some fabulous paper from K&Company called ancestry.com. (The background one is from the same collection.) I colored the roses with my Prismacolor Art Markers and popped up the larger bunch on some 3D dots. For finishing touches I added some black velvet trim, black organdy ribbon, a mulberry paper flower, punched branches, and adhesive pearls. This card is for my friend who is having a birthday next weekend. Inside I added a computer generated sentiments that says "Of Corset's Your Birthday!" She'll get a kick out of it because once upon a time (before my little guy arrived and I actually went out and had a social life! lol) we might have gone out on the town in something very similar!

It has been a CRAZY week! I have been so busy making cards for sneak peeks and new release day over at Sassy Studio Designs that I still haven't finished my Valentine's Day cards. (I guess I need to get on that within the next 24 hours, huh? lol) I always do say procrastination is an art form! I actually have one card to share with you now, though.... It was commissioned by one of my co-workers for his wife. I had free reign to create whatever I wanted, but when I saw this image from Priscilla Styles I just knew I had to use it! This digital set is called "Man With" and comes with four different versions of the man plus sentiments. It can be found here in the Priscilla Styles shop. I also decided that the sketch from this week's Midnight Madness challenge (MMSC90) would serve me well. I opted for the "fancy" version, though I did leave off one of the elements as it didn't work with my lacy square layer.
