Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Hearts and Flowers Day!  It's snowing here.  Again.  Another foot of snow is predicted so my Valentine's Day consisted of Chinese take-out and episodes of Downton Abbey while Kayne played his new Xbox game and asked me questions (or for food) every 10 minutes.  :-)  I'm off to do more crafting, but I wanted to share the selection of Valentine's Day cards I made this week.  (I'll be back later with all the details for each card.)

My favorite one of the bunch is an easel card I made using Love from Saturated Canary.

This floral beauty is Gardener Gayle from Saturated Canary's Little Darlings Rubber Stamps rubber collection.  Believe it or not, this is the first ever SC rubber I've inked.  (She's actually also available in digi now as well as part of a special Spring Pack that Krista recently released.)

Here is a quilted creation using Patchwork from Saturated Canary.

Creaine Challenges (#45) - Sketch plus 3 Buttons

Golf Cart by Tiffany Doodles

Valentine Margarita by Impression Obsession

Inspired By Stamping (#90)

I hope you had a special day with your loved one!

A Birthday Selfie

Hi!  I am afraid my procrastination got the better of me this week and I did not have a card for the new Corrosive Challenge, but be sure to head over to the blog and see what the team has done with our "B" Unique theme, sponsored by Dilly Beans Stamps.

I do have a card to share tonight, though.  I loved this Mo's Digital Pencil image the moment she  appeared in the shop and I bought her instantly, already with this project in mind- a birthday card for a beautiful friend!  She is colored with Copics and fussy cut.  The sketch is from Mojo Monday (#358).  I was happy to use several of the My Favorite Things Die-namics I own!  The Insert It-InstaFrame was perfect for the sketch!  I also added a couple of the Cute Cameras Die-namics as well as stamping my sentiment on the Fishtail Flags Stax.  The sentiment itself is also from My Favorite Things - Who's That Birthday Girl.  Papers are DCWV - Vintage Collector.  Other embellishments include a couple of Martha Stewart punches, flowers, and metal corners.

I really had fun coloring this image!  I really need to find time to practice my flicking.  I'm a bit heavy handed, I'm afraid.  Still, I was rather pleased with her hair.

We had a pretty hectic weekend of errands (School shopping!  Eek!  When did my small man get so grown up?!) and a belated birthday dinner out with my family, but hopefully this week will be a bit calmer.

Markers used: Copics (E000, E00, E04, E11, E21, E50, E53, E57, E79, N4, N6, R20, R35, R39, R81, R83, R85, R89, BG72, B21)

Challenges:

The Corrosive Challenge #202 - Color Me Happy

And I'm back again!  This time with a new Corrosive Challenge!  We have not one, but TWO fabulous sponsors this fortnight AND an awesome new theme that I know a lot of you are going to love!  "Color Me Happy" is the challenge for the next two weeks and we want to see your coloring skills with your favorite medium.  Break out your Copic markers, your pencils, your water colors!  Show us your colors!

Sponsor #1 is Art by Miran!  MiRan is offering a prize of 3 digis to our winner and she generously supplied images for the design team to use.  I selected Lunar Deity.  Copics are my weapon of choice, of course, and she is colored up using them.  The papers are from the Dark Romance stack by DCWV.  Sketch is courtesy of Mojo Monday (#350).  I added grosgrain ribbon, flowers, pearls, a punch butterfly (Martha Stewart), and a sentiment from a retired Stampin' Up set called Quick & Cute.   Check out Art by Miran's esty shop HERE.

Markers used: Copics (E00, E04, E11, E21, E23, E31, E79, R20, R32, Y28, Y32, Y35, Y38, V04, V06, V12, V15).

Challenges:
- Art by Miran Challenge: #8-Anything Goes

Sponsor #2 is Stamps by Aurora Wings!  Mitzi is offering a $10 gift voucher to her store for our winner and also generously provided image to the team.  I opted to work with Strawberry Sprite.  I went clean and simple with this card so that I could play along with the Facebook group challenge, but I have to tell you this is not my preferred style at all.  Every time I look at it I have to resist the urge to add STUFF!  lol  As it stands it is just my image, also colored with Copics; a Fiskars border punch; and Chit Chat word stickers from Tim Holtz to create the sentiment.  The polka dot paper is from my stash and I don't even know who makes it.  The sketch is from Clean & Simple Stamping (#296).  Shop for all the gorgeous Aurora Wings digital images at Mitzi's esty store HERE.

Markers used: Copics: (E00, E04, E11, E21, R20, R24, R27, R29, R32, R39, R89, Y23, Y32, Y35, Y38, YG91, YG93, YG95, YG97).

Challenges:
- Aurora Wings Challenge: #4-No Line Coloring or Color Bingo (red, black, and pink)

I hope you'll play along!  No crafting for me today!  I am off for a day trip with the small man on this perfect Summer day!  We are headed to Edaville USA for a Day Out with Thomas!  We went last year and he had a lot of fun!  I expect it will be the same today (and I'm sure photos will follow).  Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by!

Thumbs Up

I have another card to share with you today as a guest designer for KennyK's Krafty Krew.  This fortnight their challenge is "Anything Goes" (#160) and they released some awesome new KIDS images last week!  I decided to play with Thumbs Up Kid.  He is colored with Copics and fussy cut.  The sketch is last week's Mojo Monday (#319).  I seldom feature sentiments prominently on the front of my cards, but this one was just begging to be used!  It's a cling stamp from 7Gypsies (Hampton Art).  Papers are Comic Heroes from Recollections.  To keep the focus on the image, sentiment, and papers I opted to not add a lot of embellishments.  A few black pearls and a Martha Stewart punched star border were just the thing it needed.

There's still one week to play along for the terrific prizes that are up for grabs:

KennyK, offering 5 digis of choice

and

Flonz, offering a $20 gift certificate

I hope you'll check out the gorgeous design team creations and join in the Anything Goes fun!  KennyK is also currently having a design team call so if you are interested check out all the details for that on the blog as well!

Almost time to start that Thanksgiving baking and crafting.  I can't believe the holidays are here!  At least I have a head start on my shopping this year...  Have I turned over a new proactive leaf?  Nah.

Enjoy your Sunday and thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Mojo

Hello!  I spent the majority of the evening covered in pumpkin guts, but I still managed to make this card too.  I've used one of the images I won from Dilly Beans Stamps recently to make a Halloween card for an awesome friend of mine!  She really loves their images and I thought this big eyed girl was perfect!  The image is called Skull Bow Framed and I've colored her with Copics.  The sketch is from Mojo Monday (#315).  Papers are K&Company (Brenda Walton's Haunted) from my stash.  I used a Small Deckled Rectangle Nestabilities from Spellbinders to mat the image and my Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namic from My Favorite Things for the pennant detail.  The only embellishments I added were a couple of flowers and a Martha Stewart "candy" sticker.

The rest of my night was spent carving up our pumpkins and making pumpkin seeds.  It was the first time I have ever carved a jack o'lantern completely on my own- or well, at all actually!  I usually just watch all the mess and the hard work and then lounge around eating pumpkin seeds after!  But this year, I ventured out of my comfort zone.  They are no masterpieces by any stretch of the imagination, but Kayne said they were wonderful and that's all that matters!  He doesn't need to know that I broke one of the mini saws the carving kit came with.  Or that I messed up the one-eyed monsters teeth (He's missing one!  Ooops!)  I tried and that's what counts.  We will be dropping these off for a pumpkin display that we will be attending this weekend.

I am exhausted and really need to get some sleep!  'Night!

Markers used: Copics (E00, E11, E13, E15, E19, E21, E70, E74, E79, R32, YG911, YG93, YG95, N0, N2, N4, N6, N8, YR00, YR02, YR04, YR07).

Challenges:
- Dilly Beans Challenge: Halloween (Week 2)
- Cards and More: #92-Halloween
- Clear It Out: Halloween and Orange
- Papertake Weekly: Happy Halloween Hues

The Corrosive Challenge #183 - Maiden, Mother, Crone

Hello!  It's the start of a brand new challenge over at The Corrosive Challenge today!  We're excited to welcome back another super sponsor, Delicious Doodles!

Here is a little about the company in the artist's own words:

Delicious Doodles is a young company with myself,Teri, as the Sole Trader/Designer.
I have doodled and sketched all of my life.
I started making greetings cards when my last child was born, and used my doodles on them as I couldn’t find what I wanted in the usual craft places.
I only started selling my images in the Autumn of 2009.

I design and hand/mouse-draw all of the images that are sold in the Delicious Doodles Shop. Some are cutsie animals, some are sketched flowers, there are a few men's images, fairies and also some 'darker' images featuring vampires, skulls and Gothic stuff, something for everyone!

Our theme today is Maiden, Mother, Crone (in other words, I'm just a girl...)!  To play along all you have to do is use a female image, young or old, on your project.  Teri has an amazing selection of women in her shop, and she was generous enough to send the team 4 images to work with.  I had planned on using Earth Mother for my project, but when she released this gorgeous new white witch named Blanch last week, I knew I had to create with her!   So I purchased her, colored her with Copics and fussy cut her.  Papers are DCWV's Spooky Time stack.  I used the Fleur de Lis Squares Nestabilities from Spellbinders as well as the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics from My Favorite Things.  The layered sticker is one from a Recollections pack I picked up last Halloween.  The only other embellishment I added were a few flowers from my stash.  The sketch is Mojo Monday (#310).

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful Sunday!

Markers used: Copics (E00, E11,E21, E23, E31, E34, E37, E39, R20, R32, RV63, RV66, Y28, B00, B02, V12, V15, N0, N2, N6).
