Margarita Time

Hello!  Popping in to share another My Favorite Things Stamps card!  This one was made for my best friend for her birthday.  She loves a good margarita so I couldn't resist using the Margarita Shaker Window & Frame Die-namic!  The coordinating Margarita Shaker Pouches make creating a shaker card super easy!  I even threw in some Frosty Ice Cubes!

The background was creating using the Wonky Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namic and the Snowfall stencil with Distress Ink.   The sentiment is from the Spirited Sentiments stamp set and I paired it with the Cheers Die-namic.

She absolutely loved it and I had a blast making it!  I have a feeling more of these kinds of cards are in my future!  Thanks for taking a look!

Yay! It's Your Birthday!

Hi!  I recently received an order from My Favorite Things Stamps and I couldn't wait to play!  I made this birthday card using their Yay for You stamp set and So Many Yays Die-namics!  The sentiment is stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I used the Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips to die cut it.  The star is from the retired Accent It: Rock and Roll Die-namics.  The whole thing is matted with the largest die from the A2 Stitched Rectangles Set 2.

I love to color but am really enjoying making something a little different lately.  The sketch is based on MFT Stamps current Wednesday challenge HERE.

Hooray for Birthdays!

Hi!  There has been quite a bit going on here.  This month I decided to start cleaning my craft room AND my son's bedroom, which got a complete makeover!  I also somehow managed to give myself a pinched nerve in my neck resulting in pain all down my arm which has really cramped my style these last few weeks.   I haven't been doing much of anything.  No reading.  And only the occasional crafting.  This past weekend I had an 84th birthday party to attend and a coworker was celebrating his special day as well.  I splurged a bit over at My Favorite Things Stamps this month and I decided it was the perfect opportunity to break out some of my new goodies.

The first card was made for my great-aunt's birthday.  I wanted something elegant and simple and I think this card is the perfect combination of both.  Also, notice.  No coloring and it's a standard A2 size instead of one of my usual 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" squares.  Trying to step out of my comfort zone a bit more...

My co-worker has a characteristic red beard and it was a no brainer to use Hipster Cat from Some Odd Girl combined with new dies acquired from MFT Stamps for his birthday card.  I embossed the sentiment using a stamp from the MFT Stamps Essential Sentiments stamp set.

2015 Catch Up

Hi!  I have a bunch of miscellaneous birthday cards made in 2015 that I have yet to share so let's get to it!

This first card was for my mom's birthday last year.  I was pressed for time and didn't want to color an image.  It's rare I make a card without coloring involved, but this was one of those times.  I used the Tim Holtz Bigz Sewing Room die (Sizzix).  The border punch is from Martha Stewart.

Next is a card I made for a co-worker's birthday.  I colored Birthday Wishes from Redonkadoodles.  The image is cut with Labels Two Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I also added Lattice Border and Scalloped Banner dies (La-La-Land Crafts), Balloon punch (Martha Stewart), and a stamped sentiment from Stampin' Up cut with one of their circle punches.  Bakers twine, pearls, a metal flourish, and a few flowers finish off this creation.

And here is a card for one of Kayne's friends.  I colored My Super Boy from Tiddly Inks then fussy cut him and used foam squares to pop him up on a designer paper background.  The City Skyline and Happy Birthday dies are from My Favorite Things.  The star is from Stars Five Nestabilities (Spellbinder) and the star border is a Martha Stewart punch.

This next project was a combination birthday and new home card for a co-worker.  I colored this cute little house from Waltzingmouse Stamps' A Cottage Home set then I loaded it with dies!  Here I've used Lattice Border, Hot Air Balloon, Street Lamp, and Wrought Iron Fence (La-La-Land Crafts) as well as

Another co-worker birthday prompted this masculine card using Stampin' Up's Classic Convertibles stamp set.  No coloring needed, just a bunch of fun dies including Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics (My Favorite Things) and Flag Banner and Steampunk Border (La-La-Land Crafts).

Here is Kayne's birthday card from last year.  His party theme was Batman so I found a coloring page online to use for his card.  He is colored with Copics and fussy cut.  The City Skyline Die-namic is from My Favorite Things, the big bat die cut is from Spellbinders and the border is a Martha Stewart punch.  I created the Bat Signal with a printable file purchased online.  The chevron paper was also a purchased digital file.

Another birthday card with no coloring!  (I did stamp the sentiment, though.)  This was made using My Favorite Things Stamps Game Controller Die-namics.  The sentiment is from their coordinating Level Up stamp set.  The other dies used are Lattice Border and Lattice Doily Border (La-La-Land Crafts).

This was a birthday card for another one of Kayne's little friends.  I colored Little Captain Oscar from Simply B Stamps' Jude and the Rockers Little Heroes collection.  He's colored with Copics and cut using Labels Nestabilities Four (Spellbinders).  Also from Spellbinders is the Star Circle and Stars Five Nestabilities.  The star border is a Martha Stewart punch and the film strip is from Tim Holtz.  The Lattice Doily Border is La-La-Land Crafts.

Another co-worker's birthday card.  I got a little sassy with this one.  The image is KennyK Stamps' Cheers Dude and he's colored with Copics.  The sentiment is from 7Gypsies (Hampton Art).  The die is Stitched Bracket Border (La-La-Land Crafts).

And finally, a CAS card featuring KennyK Stamps' Hockey.  He was colored with Copics and fussy cut.  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up.

Child of the 80s

Hello!  Everyone has seen Krista's coloring contest going on over at the Saturated Canary blog, right?!?!  If not, stop what you are doing and run, don't walk, to the SC shop and pick up one, two, or all three of Krista's new Fashion Decades sets!  They are value priced for the duration of the contest at only $4 each!  That's like getting one of the images in each set for free!  To play along all you have to do is link a project featuring a personally colored version of one of these lovelies and share on social media!  You have until July 21st to join in for the $20 gift vouchers that are up for grabs!

As a GDT member (*squeals with delight*), Krista very generously gifted these to us and of course I couldn't resist coloring up 80s Fashion Decade first!  Most anyone who knows me knows how much I love the 80s!  It contains so many fond memories for me...  I'm totally a child (and teenager) of the 80s!  Lol  Because of this, even still as an adult, I have a HUGE love for all things 80s!  I think my hair, well my bangs anyway, may have been just about as big!  My image is colored with Copics and cut using Long Rectangles Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  In my new favorite style, I heaped on loads of fun dies and embellies!  I was "totally stoked" to use two My Favorite Things Die-namic that were perfect for the 80s - Cassette Tape and Geek is Chic Glasses!  Also featured are Heart Doily, Open Hearts Doily Border, and Wings set (La-La-Land Crafts) and Virtuoso Music (Memory Box).  The coordinating stamp set from MFT for the cassette is called Playlist.  I added some black lace (à la Madonna) and a few flowers.  The sentiment sticker is from Me & My Big Ideas and the "80s" is done in black chipboard glitter stickers.  And what 80s creation would be complete without some bright neon colors?!

I'm hoping to have time to create with some of the other decades as well!  Ready to start your project?  Take your pick: 40s and 50s, 60s and 70s, & 80s and 90s!  Which one is YOUR favorite decade?

Thanks for popping in!  I appreciate the visit!  Hope everyone is having a fabulous week so far!

Saturated Canary Summer GDT Call

Hi!  I was SO excited to see that Krista was having a Saturated Canary Summer guest design team call, but I was worried I wouldn't have time to create!  With school getting out next week I have been out straight with all sorts of kid activities and have stayed up until 1am not once, not twice, but three times this week!  That is waaay too late for this momma lately!  I'm not as young as I used to be!

Sleep deprivation aside, I have to say I was happy with the results of my late night efforts!  Here is what I created using one of the two images required for the call.  This is Traveler.  She is colored with Copics and fussy cut.  I am really liking the elaborate card style so this is another one I loaded like a baked potato!  (Is anyone else hungry now?)  I used a bunch of great dies: Lattice Border and Lattice Doily Border (La-La-Land Crafts), Weathered Clock and Hardware Findings (Tim Holtz), Cityscape and Eiffel Tower (My Favorite Things), and Labels Fourteen and Long Classic Rectangles Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I also piled on the embellishments again!  There is pearl lace, flowers, a ticket, and a few Tim Holtz items consisting of Compass Coins, Game Spinners, Long Fasteners, and Locket Keys.  I dressed up the white panel behind the image with some Distress Ink (both sponged and stamped with a couple of Stampin' Up sets).  The butterflies are Martha Stewart punches.  The sentiment is also Tim Holtz.  Papers are Teresa Collins World Traveler.

Now I nervously await the announcement...

Mummy Dearest

Hi there!  Today I whipped up a quick tag for my coworker to add to a thank you gift she was giving.  She made these awesome mummy Oreo treats and when she saw the label on my last card she commented that it would be perfect.  I offered to bring one in for her to use, but then I decided to craft it up a bit.  Nothing too fancy, but fun nonetheless.  I stamped the image from My Favorite Things' Who's That Mummy? and inked around the image with Distress Ink in Antique Linen.  I colored the floor in with my Copics and added some color to the mummy's bandages too.  I cut it out and matted it on red and black then cut a piece of yellow with a Spellbinders Label Twenty-Three die.  I punched two holes for ribbon and added one of the Martha Stewart stickers.  And done!

I have spent the rest of the night whipping up treats of my own...  Stay tuned tomorrow to see what trouble I got up to in the kitchen and craft room!  Oh, and I watched American Horror Story: Coven!  Creepy!  I love it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Smile

Hi!  How is everyone so far this week?  I have another card to share with you.  And I've done something I almost never do...  Created a clean and simple card!  Image is Photographer from Alicia's Little Shop.  Sketch is CAS(E) This Sketch (cts#34).  The photo frame was created using the InstaFrame My Favorite Things Die-namics.  Sentiments are also from MFT (Captured Memories and Birthday Sentiments).  The chevron was cut from the Simple Stories Summer Fresh 6x6 pad.  Though it's not my usual style I kind of like the way it turned out...  What do you think?

It's been a pretty uneventful week so far, and I'm looking forward to a little holiday time off with the small man!  How about you?  Anything fun or patriotic planned for your 4th festivities?

Markers used: Copics (E11, E21, E00, R32, E23, E31, E79, R24, R27, R29, R89, YG93, BG10, BG72, N0, N2, N4, B32, B34, B37).

Bring Home the Silver

With all the talk of the Olympics, I have gold, silver, and bronze on the brain!  But today I'm here to share a different kind of silver with you - a silver anniversary!  One of my co-workers asked for a special card for her parents' 25th wedding anniversary.  And how could I resist playing with May I Have This Dance? from My Favorite Things?!?!  I absolutely love this stamp set for anniversary projects!  I  colored the couple with Copics and paper pieced the woman's dress.  I decided to fussy cut them to accommodate my layout.  And if I'm going to use MFT stamps and their current sketch (MFTWSC83), why not go all out with MFT dies too, right?  I've used two Die-namics here: Dizzy Doily and Fishtail Flags Stax.  Papers are My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose - Hattie.  I added a few flowers from my stash, chipboard glitter numbers, and some punched Martha Stewart butterflies for the little details.  I adore My Favorite Things and though I often use their sentiments, it seems I just don't get to play with the rest of my collection nearly enough!  I have resolved to make it a point to do so more often going forward!  Goodies this fun weren't meant to sit on the shelf!  They need to be inked up!  The sentiment here is also MFT, created by combining two of the words found in the Make the Date set.

And right now they are previewing their August collection which will be release on my birthday (August 7th)!!!  If you haven't taken a peek yet, you should visit the MFT blog!  There are fun stamps and dies for every crafting style!  Click here if you'd like to go shopping!

I apologize for the short post tonight but I'm off to craft and to get organized for tomorrow's Sassy Studio Designs' Fabulous Freebie Friday!  Be sure to check back to see what awesome image Lindsay has up for grabs this week!

Also, I hope you'll check out my birthday blog candy!  I have a Saturated Canary $20 voucher to give away to one lucky follower!

Markers used:  Copics (E11, E21, E00, B34, B37, B39)

Have a wonderful evening!
