Happy Birthday, KennyK!

Today someone special is celebrating a milestone birthday...  The awesome and talented KennyK has hit the half century mark!  The BIG 5-0!  Naturally we, the Krew part of KennyK's Krafty Krew, could not let this day go by without fanfare and fuss!  So we decided to surprise Kenny with a blog hop in his honor!  We wanted him to know that we consider ourselves SO lucky to be a part of his team and to get to work with all of his amazing images!

Visit each Krew members blog and leave a comment!  Then visit KennyK's Krafty Krew and leave some birthday wishes for the man himself, KennyK!  One lucky participant who has visited every blog will be selected for a special prize from our fabulous DT Coordinator (that's me)!  You have until September 25th to hop along!

I used Rock Dude from the Rock Squad collection over at KennyKdownloads for Kenny's card.  I colored him with Copics and cut using Labels One Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I selected a black and white zebra print paper (Canvas Corp) and used a pop of red with it.  I love when I get the chance to use the Accent It - Rock and Roll Die-namics (My Favorite Things)!  Here I incorporated the flames, star, guitar, and guitar pick.  The Steampunk border, Diamond Wire, and Wrought Iron Fence are all from La-La-Land Crafts.  Virtuoso Music from Memory Box was also used.  I added a Crossbones metal embellishment (Tim Holtz) and used glitter sticker alphabet and numbers to personalize the card.  The circle sentiment is from a Stampin' Up set called Circle of Friendship.

Happy 50th, KennyK!!!  Hope you have a rockin' day!!!

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E23, E31, E79, R20, R35, R37, R39, R89, Y28, B32, B34

KennyK's Krafty Krew Challenge #202 - Anything Goes with a Twist: Halloween

Hello!  Welcome to the first day of September and, despite the balmy temperatures here, the beginning of the Fall season in my mind!  And we all know that Fall, and in particular Halloween, are favorites of mine!  So let's dive right in here at KennyK's Krafty Krew and have the twist to our newest Anything Goes challenge be... yup, you guessed it, HALLOWEEN!  We are of course sponsored by the epic KennyKdownloads!  The prize is 3 digis of choice, but you can up the ante to 5 digis by using the optional twist!

My card features Mad Mummy.  He is colored with Copics and fussy cut.  Papers are from my voluminous Halloween paper stash.  I added a spider web border punched with a Martha Stewart punch, some sheer ribbon, and a fun Jolee's Boutique sticker.

I already bought and displayed my first new Halloween decoration of the year so you know I'm ready!  Are you?  I hope so and that you'll play along with this frightful fun!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous week!

As always our challenge for KennyK's Krafty Krew is Anything Goes with a twist!  The twist is optional, but remember you MUST use a KennyK digi or clear stamp to enter.  And the theme for this momentous occasion?!

Banner Day

Make or use a banner or bunting on your project.

In addition to our usual prizes, we have FIVE fabulous gift certificates to give away!

$25 from our very own Dawn Lewis for Copic markers
$25 from Dies To Die For for dies

$25 from Stampin' Up for paper and/or ink
$25 from KennyKdownloads for digis
$50 from KennyK Clear Stamps for clear stamps

Excited yet?!?!  We are!  Not only do we have all these fabulous prizes to share with you, but we also have one new release image!  He's called Valet and he fits in perfectly with a few others from our KennyK collection.  We affectionately refer to them as "The Estate".

I have used Socialite for my card.  I started with a Martha Stewart punch around the page punch and went from there.  The image is colored with Copic and fussy cut.  I popped her up on foam squares for dimension.  I didn't add as much as usual to this one.  I went with a classier, more sophisticated look this time.  I added flowers, a Tim Holtz memo pin holding a Tim Holtz chit chat sticker, a vintage looking medallion and jewel from my stash, antique looking lace with pearls, and a few dies.  Used here are Flag Banner (La-La-Land Crafts), the pennant flag from a castle (Magnolia Doo-hickeys), and feather (Hot Off The Press).

You simply must visit the blog to see what our guest desingers and krew have created!  And don't forget to color up a KennyK image to play along for a chance at winning one of those amazing prizes!  You have until August 13th to join the fun!

The Corrosive Challenge #228 - Hot, Hot, Hot!

Hello!  I hope all my US followers had a safe and happy 4th of July!  We enjoyed a low key cookout at my brother's.  I then came home to work on my card for today's challenge while Kayne played Xbox.  I was then able to enjoy some fireworks out my window as I colored and put my project together.  And not just because this is the most skin I have ever colored...

The Corrosive Challenge welcomes back favorite sponsor KennyK for a "Hot, Hot, Hot!" theme!  We're bringing SEXY back and KennyK's got a smokin' collection of sexy images just perfect for this challenge!  But if smoldering sex appeal isn't your cup of tea, we offer you the alternative to use "hot" colors: red, orange, yellow - any combination, or all of them!

Elena and KennyK are offering a fabulous prize of our winner's choice:
2 clear stamp sets OR 4 digis!!!

Elena picked my image for me as I couldn't decide what I wanted to do.  She selected this Playboy image (from the Heartbreakers collection), who she said reminds her of Channing Tatum.  I am off to see the Magic Mike movie this weekend so I figured it was a fitting choice.  I was still at a bit of a loss as to what to DO with him after I colored him up with my Copics and fussy cut him.  I don't have a lot of truly masculine papers so I settled on this Diamond Plate paper.  I then cut up a pair of my son's old jeans for the pocket.  I stamped a My Favorite Things sentiment, and another from Stampin' Up, and put them together with the My Favorite Things Smart Phone Die-namics and a couple of ones from my wallet.  The button in the corner is also from Kayne's jeans.

Be sure to check out KennyK Clear Stamps , KennyK's Krafty Krew Challenge blog, and the KennyK Facebook page (plus don't forget to follow them on Twitter and Instagram @kennykstamps)!

Last Day of School

Schoool's out for Summer!  Today is Kayne's final day of Kindergarten.  I'm not sure where the time has gone, but my little boy is moving up to the next grade.  After a Summer full of fun first, of course!  I made a little sign for him to celebrate this special occasion.

He's looking forward to camp and the other joys of Summer only a kid can fully enjoy and appreciate.  Except for maybe the teachers...  I'm sure they are just as excited about this!  To thank them for their efforts this year I decided to give Kayne's Kindergarten teacher and aide a humorous card and gift.

I went clean and simple (CAS) with these as I was pressed for time.  My craft friend Lucy does this style to perfection and I attempted to take a page out of her book.  Sadly, though she was a wonderful inspiration, I feel mine lack that special something that give her cards this amazing WOW factor.

I colored up a KennyK digi image (Cheers Dude) for his teacher and a Saturated Canary one (Wine O'Clock) for his aide.  The sentiment I found on Pinterest and was computer generated by me in the Castellar font.

The gift certificates will be put to good use, I'm sure.

Thanks for popping in and hope your Summer is going swimmingly so far!

KennyK's Krafty Krew #197 - Anything Goes

Hello!  Apparently when you have a school age child, June is just as hectic as the holidays!  I have been running around non-stop since Wednesday and this week looks like a repeat performance!  With the school year wrapping up and activities coming to an end I'll be needing a few cards.

Luckily, KennyK's Krafty Krew has the perfect challenge for you if you'll be in a crafting frenzy like me!  We usually have a twist, an optional theme that can earn you additional prizes, but this time there is NO TWIST!  Just "Anything Goes" with a KennyK Downloads digi or Clear Stamp!  Our awesome sponsor is none other than KennyK Downloads with a prize of 5 digis of choice for our winner and 1 digi each to our Top 3 picks!

I needed a card for Kayne's tee ball coach.  The season is over and we had a party/award ceremony on Saturday.  I thought it was really something special that he donated his time and effort to these kids in the instructional league and I wanted to thank him for it.  I colored up the super cute Batter Up for the occasion!

He is colored with Copics and cut using Classic Squares Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I kept it simple since I was pressed for time.  The layout is courtesy of Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 (HERE).  Papers are American Crafts and the sticker is a Snap Shot from Paperhouse.  I added a piece of jute string and a few red adhesive pearls to finish it off.

And here's the gift we gave the coach!  I went with mostly baseball themed goodies: peanuts, Cracker Jacks, sunflower seeds, Baby Ruth candy bar, Big League Chew bubble gum, and a Dunkin Donuts gift card.

I have another busy week ahead so stay tuned to see what I'll be creating along the way!

Thanks for popping in and enjoy your Monday!

KennyK's Krafty Krew #196 - Anything Goes with a Twist: One for the Boys

Hey there!  June 1st means another KennyK's Krafty Krew challenge is upon us!  Want to win 3 digis?  Play along with any KennyK Downloads or Clear Stamps image.  Better yet, want to win 5 digis?  Use the optional twist to add 2 extra digis to your prize!

Super heroes seem like they are everywhere these days.  Maybe it's just because I'm the mom of a little boy.  Maybe it's because I recently went to the theater to see the new Anvengers movie at the theater and then not long after watched Guardians of the Galaxy on DVD.  I'm sure it has absolutely nothing to do the myriad super hero themed Lego sets and action figures that litter my house.  Whatever the case may be, the small man had a classmate's birthday party to attend and the invitation featured classic comic book words and lettering.  So I was glad that the optional twist for our Anything Goes challenge is "One for the Boys" because KennyKdownloads has some AWESOME super hero images!

I selected Fist Hero to work with and colored him with Copics.  I fussy cut the image and used foam squares to pop him up on the card.  I sponges some ink to make a cloudy sky then used the Skyline Border Die-namics (My Favorite Things) to create a city scape for him to fly over.  Sketch Saturday is letting you choose from archived sketches this week so I went way back with #216 from 2012.  Papers are Comic Heroes (Recollections).  A few other dies were used in the making of this card as well including Mini Film Strip (Tim Holtz), Stars Five and Classic Squares Nestabilities (Spellbinders), and Fishtail Flags Banner Die-namics (My Favorite Things).  The sentiment is from a Stampin' Up set called Boys Will Be Boys.

Hopefully the birthday boy liked it.  I think he will because when I was finished with it Kayne said, "Momma, it's so cool!  You are good at making cards!"  He knows just what to say to make my heart melt!  Pop over to the challenge blog to see the rest of the Krew's take on man town!

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, R20, R35, R37, R39, R89, Y35, N2, N4, N6, N8, B02, B04, B06, B37

KennyK's Krafty Krew Challenge #195 - Anything Goes with a Twist: Celebrate

Hello!  Late again!  But better late than never I always say.  Friday marked the start of a new KennyK's Krafty Krew challenge and it's cause for celebration!  Literally.  Our optional twist is "Celebrate"!  Your project can be for any type of celebration: birthday, wedding, new baby, graduation...  I went with the latter, making a card for my co-worker for her college graduation this weekend.

I colored up Graduation Girl from kennykdownloads for the occasion.  She is colored with Copics and cut using Classic Ovals Nestabilities (Spellbinders) then matted on Floral Ovals Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I also used dies for the stars (My Favorite Things) and the doily border (La-La-Land Crafts).  The two sentiments are from an acrylic stamp set called 4 the Grad (Hampton Art).  Papers are from my stash, and I added some flowers and Jolee's number stickers for her graduation year.

We had a busy weekend full of tee ball and play dates including a trip to our local art museum for Star Wars Day.  Kayne took a Jedi training initiation workshop there and it was a lot of fun!  I was also able to sneak in a movie on Friday night to see the newest Avengers film!  Between the yummy Chris Hemsworth as Thor and the sarcastic wit of Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark/Iron Man, I was a happy girl!  How was your weekend?  Productive, fun, relaxing- whatever it was, I hope it was a good one!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a fantastic week!

KennyK's Krafty Krew #194 - Anything Goes with a Twist: Just A Girl

I'm late, I'm late....  This is the story of my life!  Lol  Not only am I late posting for KennyK's Krafty Krew new Anything Goes challenge, but these special birthday cards themselves (made for my best friend's twin daughters) are late as well!  Their birthday was mid-March.  Ooops.  But hey, better late than never, right?  And I always say I'm worth the wait anyway!  Haha!

Our twist this time around is "Just A Girl".  Use any KennyK digi or clear stamp image for your chance to play along for a prize of two clear stamp sets.  BUT if you utilize the twist you get a bonus prize of 2 digis of your choice as well!  Sweet, right?

For the cards I used the fabulous Team Spirit clear stamp set.  The girls cheer so she was perfect.  I decided that I was going to make the cards the same yet different.  Just like them.  I created two cards with the same Stampvie sketch (#236) using similar Recollections papers in pink and purple.  The sentiment is included in the clear stamp set.  I added a couple of flowers and bling flourishes and a length of lace to each card.  The border punch is from Martha Stewart.  The die cut behind the image is Little Darlings Rubber Stamps Lovely View (Spellbinders) and I used the Resplendent Rectangles Nestabilities (Spellbinders) for the images which are colored with Copics.

Pop on over to the challenge blog to see what girly creations the rest of the Krew has to offer!  Then color up a KennyK image (or use one of the awesome pre-colored versions found HERE) and play along!

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E23, E31, E50, E51, E53, R20, RV34, RV63, RV66, RV69, B00, B02, Y28, Y35, V20, V25, BV08, N0, N2, N4, N6
