Mo's Digital Pencil 2018

Hello!   Happy New Year!  Welcome to 2020!  I haven't blogged in months nor have I really been creating.  I think this year needs to be the one where I really get the craft room purged and reorganized and use the awesome supplies that I have! It seems like no one reads my blog posts, but I like having a record of the things I've created so maybe I'll continue for me.  Videos and tutorials seem to be the most popular way to share projects now, but technologically I need to beef up my equipment and skills before I can make that leap.

I found some cards featuring Mo's Digital Pencil images from 2018 that I never shared so thought I'd get them out there.  I am a little fuzzy on the details used to create them at this point but I do know all the dies are from La-La Land Crafts and I used Copics to color the images.

The first was a birthday card for a friend of my son.  He's a huge Yankees fan!

This next card was made at the request of a co-worker for his wife to celebrate their 10th anniversary.  The image represents their son and their dog. Again, all dies are LLLC and the image was colored with Copics with black pencil for the fur detail.

Mo's Wizard Boy and Fighter

Hello!  How is everyone's Sunday going?  It's a beautiful day here but the small guy and I needed a day to just chill.  So while he's been watching YouTube and playing Minecraft, I have been updating my blog sidebar and wasting time on social media.  Lol  I figured since I got my blog spruced up (special thanks to Michelle of Evermore Creations for for fixing my layout due to a Photobucket issue!) I should probably post more cards!

Today I am sharing two from Mo's Digital Pencil.  My first card features Wizard Boy, and he (along with Wizard Girl) are must haves for any Harry Potter fans out there!  I've colored him with my Copics and fussy cut him.  This is sort of clean and simple compared to my usual, but I love that it allows the HP themed paper to shine.  The dies are all La-La Land Crafts, except for the Tim Holtz Star Cluser (Sizzix) at the top.  From LLLC, I've used Castle Border, Ornate Border Small, Book Brackets, and Make a Wish.   

Next is Fighter.  This is the image that Mo made for the amazing Lou Daubney.  My aunt asked me to make a few thinking of you cards for her and this was one of her requests.  Fighter is colored with Copics and fussy cut.  I've used Mini Globe (Tim Holtz Sizzix), Virtuoso Music and Music Notes (Memory Box) as well as Brackets and Arrows, Bohemian Feather, Stitched Elements, Sunburst Border, Winged Heart, and Star Border (La-La Land Crafts).  A few flowers add the final touch,

Mo's Digital Pencil Trio

Hi!  We are in the middle of a snowstorm here and there's no school or work today!  And what better way to spend a snow day than blogging and crafting, right?  So I thought I'd pop in to share a few cards I made recently with Mo's Digital Pencil images.  I've also entered the current Anything Goes Challenge #272 at DP2 Challenge.

My first card is a first birthday card.  I used One (girl version) and colored her up with my Copics.  As usual I used a bunch of dies from my collection.  Most are from La-La-Land Crafts.  Here I've featured Filigree Border, Filigree Moon, Heart Banner, Hot Air Balloon, ad Hello Tag.  The image is matted on Labels Fifteen Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I added some flowers, a sparkly binder clip, and ruched ribbon.  The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch.

As soon as I saw Dwarfs 5-7 I knew I needed them!  I used two of them for birthday cards for my my dad and one of my brothers.  This is Dwarf 6 and he is colored with Copics.  Masculine cards are always one of those crafty challenges that get me so I tend to keep them simpler than my other projects.  I did use a few dies on this one, though.  The Weather Clock is a Tim Holtz Bigz die (Sizzix),  Fishtails Flags is My Favorite Things Stamps, and Birthday Corner and Diamond Lattice Border are La-La-Land Crafts.  The compass coin is also Tim Holtz.

The final card was made for my dad.  I think the bald head, beard, and mustache reminded of him!  Lol  Although my dad's not rotund like this fella.  I've got some La-La-Land Crafts dies going on here too.  On this card I've featured Lattice Doily Border, Steampunk Border, and Stitched Bracket Border.  The banner border is My Favorite Things Stamps.  The metal gears are Tim Holtz.

Grow Love

Hello!  How is everyone out in blogland?  I just wanted to share a couple of cards I made featuring some of Mo's Digital Pencil images.  

I was asked to make an anniversary card for a couple who share a love of gardening.  I colored up Sadie and Gardener Guy with my Copics for the occasion.  Sadie is cut with Resplendent Rectangles (Spellbinders) and her mate is fussy cut and popped up on foam squares for dimension.  I loaded up on the La-La-Land Crafts dies once again!  Here I've used Heart Header Border, Open Hearts Doily Border, Heart Doily Border, Heart Doily, and Wrought Iron Fence.  The numbers are a My Favorite Things Stamps Die-namics and the small heart and the branches are Martha Stewart punches.   

Next was a birthday card for someone who enjoys golfing.  Big Guy Golfer was the perfect fit!  He is colored with Copics also and cut using Labels Two Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  Lattice Border (La-La-Land Crafts) grace the sides and the grass is a Martha Stewart border punch.

World's Cutest Leprechaun

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Everyone is a little Irish today and in this house it's an extra special day because it's Kayne's Half Birthday!  I know that's not a real "thing" but we've been celebrating it every year and why not?  Life is too short not to have all the fun you can!  So for the occasion, I whipped up some rainbow cupcakes and a leprechaun card!  We also had a visit from a real leprechaun overnight too...  He left us Rolo filled pots of "gold"!

The image is called Leprechaun and is from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I shouldn't try to color when I am stressed, tired, or otherwise preoccupied because I screw things up that way!  Lol  I missed a shoe buckle and I mistook his ears for hair!  Oops!  Luckily, the small man is a wee bit less critical than I am!  The image is colored with Copics and cut using the Labels Sixteen Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  The heart banner is La-La-Land Crafts.  I created a rainbow out of strips of colored card stock.  The shamrock paper is from Recollections.  I added a pin and a Tim Holtz metal buckle as finishing touches.  The sketch is Mojo Monday (#389) which I flipped upside down.

A Birthday Selfie

Hi!  I am afraid my procrastination got the better of me this week and I did not have a card for the new Corrosive Challenge, but be sure to head over to the blog and see what the team has done with our "B" Unique theme, sponsored by Dilly Beans Stamps.

I do have a card to share tonight, though.  I loved this Mo's Digital Pencil image the moment she  appeared in the shop and I bought her instantly, already with this project in mind- a birthday card for a beautiful friend!  She is colored with Copics and fussy cut.  The sketch is from Mojo Monday (#358).  I was happy to use several of the My Favorite Things Die-namics I own!  The Insert It-InstaFrame was perfect for the sketch!  I also added a couple of the Cute Cameras Die-namics as well as stamping my sentiment on the Fishtail Flags Stax.  The sentiment itself is also from My Favorite Things - Who's That Birthday Girl.  Papers are DCWV - Vintage Collector.  Other embellishments include a couple of Martha Stewart punches, flowers, and metal corners.

I really had fun coloring this image!  I really need to find time to practice my flicking.  I'm a bit heavy handed, I'm afraid.  Still, I was rather pleased with her hair.

We had a pretty hectic weekend of errands (School shopping!  Eek!  When did my small man get so grown up?!) and a belated birthday dinner out with my family, but hopefully this week will be a bit calmer.

I Got Crafty- Just Because

I did something I never do.  I spent a whole day crafting!  Yesterday I sat at my desk and completed three cards.  Now, granted, I have a pre-schooler in the house so it was not uninterrupted craft time, but it was still quite the luxury.  I thought I'd share the first of those cards with you today.  A co-worker requested a special order "just because" card for his wife (on a referral from another co-worker- word gets around, I guess).  I always ask a little bit about the recipient before I do a custom job.  This time I learned that she loves wine and her Shih Tzu.  I sat with this info for a few days before I came up with a plan.  I knew I didn't have an image for either of her passions so what's a girl to do?  Shop, of course!  I visited Mo's Digital Pencil for her image Party Girl and then popped over to Tiddly Inks for the adorable Kiki freebie.  

Both images are colored using Copics.  I fussy cut Kiki (then popped up on foam squares) and used the Long and Scalloped Long Rectangle Nestabilities to cut and mat my Party Girl.  I selected the current Sketch n Stash (#134) as my layout.  I'm in the beginning stages of a craft room overhaul and I've made a promise to myself that I need to use more of my items.  If I don't use it, it should go to a new home.  This is a great motivator to use some items that I may have been overlooking.  The Eiffel Tower Die-namics from My Favorite Things, for instance.  Or the Martha Stewart crown punch.  I also grabbed that pretty lace from my stash as well as a Gina K sentiment from the Lovely Labels set, stamped on a Lacey Circles Nestabilities from Spellbinder that was sponged with Stampin' Up Rose Romance classic ink.  Flowers are from my stash too.  Papers are Basic Grey - True Love.

I felt a little guilty that I took all that crafty time for myself, but sometimes it's just the thing a creative girl needs.  I still spent time with Kayne and since my craft room is next to the living room (and is also his play room) we were still together all day.  The other two cards I have to wait to reveal as they are birthday cards that have not yet been delivered.

I have some more amazing news to share that is craft related, though!  I had one heck of week last week when it came to prizes!  First I won that amazing custom clock giveaway from Saturated Canary.  THEN I won the hair and skin coloring class from Kit and Clowder, the new online coloring community started by the insanely talented Alyce Keegan!  I couldn't be any more excited about both prizes!  Maybe I should have bought a lottery ticket, huh...?

Look Who's One!

Hey there!  Just a quick share today...  Sometimes we have friends that we don't get to see as often as we like.  In some cases too long passes between visits.  Life moves forward and we miss important stuff like the birth of a new baby, a christening, and then before we know it a whole year has gone by!  A first birthday is a big deal and I wanted my friend and her little man to know that though miles may separate us, they are right here in my heart!

Nothing says first birthday like the cake smash!  And the mess is always worth the memories!  I colored Kai is One (Boy) from Mo's Digital Pencil with Copics and cut him out using my Classic Rectangles Nestabilities from Spellbinders.  Papers Me & My Big Ideas - Champs.  I selected the current sketch from Sketchy Colors (#196) as my layout.   Classic Circles Nestabilities were used to cut out the circle elements.  I also utilized the Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics from My Favorite Things, which I then embossed with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.  Lastly I added an American Crafts Thickers number 1 and an "Eat Cake" chipboard sticker also from Me & My Big Ideas.  (I'm currently obsessed with the chalkboard art look!)

 

It's not the same as being there, but at least there will be some happy mail in our absence. XO

Little Everyday Triumphs

I'm good at celebrating the big things.  I make cards for birthdays, weddings, new babies....  But when it comes to life's little everyday triumphs and milestones, I don't always have the time or energy to create something, even though I may have a fabulous idea or the perfect image.  I thought it was time to make an effort to change that.  Yesterday I was able to put a smile on a co-workers face because I took some time to make a card to congratulate her on reaching one of her weight loss goals.  She's been working really hard towards it and was so excited about her achievement that I knew it deserve a special acknowledgement!

I colored up Hoping from Mo's Digital Pencil for the occasion.  She is cut out with the Spellbinders Classic Rectangles Nestabilities.  I added fishtail banners cut with the First Place Ribbon Award Die-namics by My Favorite Things as well as a Magnolia Swirl Doohickey.  Papers are Lost & Found Two: Blush from My Mind's Eye.  A few flowers complete the simple yet pretty design based on Stamp with Fun's current sketch (#220).

Oh Baby! x 2

Yes, I've been busy, haven't I?  I have another card to share with you, one I created for twin boys, born earlier this month to my neighbor's daughter.  My mom made two blanket babies for me to give to welcome their arrival (of course I forgot to snap a photo of them before I sent them off to their new home!) and I made a special card to accompany the gift.

The image is Mo's Digital Pencil's adorable Twins.  This is the general, non-gender specific version.  I paper pieced their jammies and colored the rest with Copics.  Papers are from Stampin' Up in Bashful Blue, paired with Crumb Cake (their new name for Kraft) which I seem to be obsessed with lately.  I used the Martha Stewart star border punch as well as two Spellbinders dies (Star Circles and Stars Five).  The sentiment is from My Favorite Things and I added "x2" with some Thickers.  I popped a corner die cut from Sizzix on the opposite corner for balance.  On the back, along with my fabulous customized stamp, is a saying that completely rings true to me since I've had Kayne and I decided to share it with the new parents.  The inside greeting simply says "Congratulations" and I wrote a few of my own words to the new family as well.  I found my layout over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday (#216).
