Graphicat Sketches #23
No crafting for two weeks and then *BAM* two cards in as many days! I'm back today with the new sketch from Graphicat Sketches. This was another awesome one! Cheri's sentiments really let you have fun! If you aren't familiar with her designs you should definitely visit her shop sooner than later! You can find them all HERE.
For Sketch #23 I've paired her "A Girls Gotta Do" sentiment with "Voodoo Woman" from Delicious Doodles. I have to admit that I love the look on her face! Maybe it's because there have been a few times in my life when I've been where I imagine she is... And it's probably a good thing I didn't have voodoo dolls at the time! lol Ms Voodoo is colored with Copics, cut using a Classic Oval Nestabilities then matted with a Floral Ovals one (both from Spellbinders). The sentiment is cut with the ticket die from My Favorite Things. It's bigger than my Tim Holtz one and worked better for the size I had printed the sentiment. Papers are Basic Grey Little Black Dress: Shades of Grey and The New Black. I used Martha Stewart's Drippy Goo punch to add a little "blood". A couple of flat back pearls, a few flowers, and two pins from Stampin' Up embellish the card.
Be sure to visit the Graphicat Sketches blog to see what my fellow Crafty Catz have created! I had big crafty plans for yesterday, but I spent all day organizing and uploading photos so that I can get them printed. I have one scrapbook page done for my son (it's of the day he was born and he is now almost 3-1/2!) and two SMASH pages completed. My new goal is to get moving on both of these projects. I keep telling myself, well, if I only had photos ready to go I would work on it. With my Instagram photos on their way and the rest nearly ready to order, soon I will have no excuse!
I've also created a Facebook page for my blog. You can find me HERE if you are so inclined to LIKE me.
Markers used: Copics (E11, E21, E00, E20, E23, E31, E79, BG01, N0, N2, N4, R89, E04).
Thanks again for taking time to visit my blog! I appreciate it!

The Corrosive Challenge #169 - All That Glitters
It's been a while since I've posted. Heck, it's been a while since I've crafted! Life has gotten busy here and it has forced me to make some decisions. One of those being that I chose to resign from Sassy Studio Designs to make room for more time with Kayne, more down time to relax, and eventually, maybe, a new creative adventure. For now I will enjoy my remaining crafty endeavors- like The Corrosive Challenge! It's time for a new challenge there and an amazing new sponsor!
This fortnight we are lucky enough to have the privilege of working with the talented Rick St. dennis! His fantastic images can be found in his etsy shop! And in honor of Rick's fabulous Elite Design Team and his Sparkle and Glitter challenge blog, our challenge theme is All That Glitters! Use something shiny, sparkly, glittery, or blingy on your creation!
Rick was kind enough to let each member of the team select an image to work with. I opted for Ms Razz L Dazzle here! I've recently become hooked on the TV series SMASH so I'm all obsessed with Broadway at the moment! Ms Razz L Dazzle looked like she could be in a musical! Or a Vegas showgirl! I colored her with Copics and then using glaze as an adhesive base (thanks to Rebecca of Sydney's Sentiments for the tip) I added gold microbeads to the trim of her dress. I must admit that I got a little ahead of myself and added the beads before I trimmed the image so I had to resort to a craft knife to cut her out! I used a gold glitter gel pen on her feathers and some of her jewelry. Papers are Graphic 45's Curtain Call-Applause.The sentiment is a freebie from the ever generous Paulette over at Create with TLC! I thought it was just perfect for this project! A die from Labels Twenty-Two Nestabilities from Spellbinders was used to cut out the sentiment which was then edged with the gold glitter gel pen.
I hope you'll visit The Corrosive Challenge blog to see what my lovely teammates have blinged out and perhaps you'll play along for a chance to win the fabulous prize from our sponsor! Check back with me tomorrow for a new Graphicat Sketches challenge!

Graphicat Sketches #22
Sketch #22
As promised I'm here with a new Graphicat Sketches challenge! Sketch #22 was awesome fun to work with! And it's always a good time when Cheri's cheeky sentiments are involved! And if you play along this fortnight you could win a $10 certificate to her shop, Graphicat Designs!
For my project, I used a KennyKDownloads image, All That. I love the attitude! I paper pieced her jeans and hat with some denim print paper and colored the rest with Copics. She was then fussy cut and popped up with foam squares. Papers are Deena's Penny Lane from My Mind's Eye. The sparkle on them is so pretty but I have to remember to use some extra adhesive when crafting with them! The circles were cut with Spellbinders dies (Classic and Lacy Circles) as was the sentiment (Classic Ovals). I added a few flowers, some flat back pearls, polka dot ribbon, and a Sizzix die cut corner. F is for Forty is my chosen sentiment. It seems like something this chick would say, doesn't it? I will have plenty of chances to use cards for the big 4-0 this year as my friends (and myself) hit the dreaded number! lol
I hope you will head over to the Graphicat Sketches blog to check out what the rest of the talented Crafty Catz created!
Hope you're week is off to a wonderful start, and thanks for the visit!

The Corrosive Challenge #168 - Rainbow Bright
Well, it's been a while since I've posted, but yes, I'm still here and still crafting! Today marks a new Corrosive Challenge and a new fabulous sponsor! This time around KennyKDownloads is offering up 5 digis to our winner!
They were kind enough to offer several images for the design team to work with so I have chosen Jayne Jettpack for the challenge. And what is the challenge, you ask? It's Rainbow Bright! Use your FAVORITE COLOR COMBINATION, any colors of the rainbow! Mine is black, white, and red for cards! Many of you know that purple is my actual favorite color, but I find it a difficult color to craft with.So black, red, and white it is! Jayne is colored with Copics and fussy cut. Papers are World Traveler by Teresa Collins. I added a piece of velvet trim, a few flowers, and a couple of metal trinkets from Tim Holtz. The sketch is from Tuesday Morning Sketches (#185).
Visit The Corrosive Challenge blog to see all the gorgeous creations from the team and to enter your project for a chance to win! Also pop back on Monday to see who won for the last challenge!
I will be spending my day getting caught up on some crafty stuff. Now that the Blizzard of 2013 and Valentine's Day are behind me maybe I can get back into the swing of things! As you can see I had a busy week with snow and baking:
Thanks for stopping by and I plan to be back tomorrow with a new Graphicat Sketches challenge! Hope to see you then!

The Corrosive Challenge #167 - Hearts and Flowers
Football fans everywhere are gearing up for the big game today, but I will be crafting with the small man! We are going to work on Valentine's Day projects. Now that February has arrived it's time to think hearts and flowers! And that is exactly what the theme is over at The Corrosive Challenge this fortnight!
We have a fantastic sponsor - Sassy Studio Designs! Owner/artist Lindsay has not only provided the team with images to use, but she is offering 4 digis of choice from her online shop to our winner!
I've used Kutie Kim Roller Girl for my card. She is colored with Copics and fussy cut. I popped her up with some foam squares on Sketch #75 from Papertake Weekly. The papers are new, just purchased yesterday on a pilgrimage to my favorite paper crafting store! They are from the "My Sweet Valentine" collection by Reminisce. Also purchased on the trip was the My Favorite Things Heart Doily Die-namic. The Fishtail Banner is from MFT as well. I added my flowers, a bling swirl, and a sentiment from Amuse Art Stamps to finish my project.
Head over to The Corrosive Challenge blog to see what the rest of the super talented team has created for this challenge! And tomorrow we will have a winners' post for you as well!
Thanks for taking time to visit! Have a fabulous day!

True Love's Kiss
Valentine's Day is fast approaching and love is in the air! It's not one of my favorites, but it's still an excuse to bake and craft so I'll go along with it. I'm already planning the sweet treats, and I need to put my crafty thinking cap on for some fun ideas for kids' Valentine's. I promised my small man he could make his own Valentine's this weekend so perhaps he'll inspire me!
Today I'm here to tell you about this week's Sassy Studio Designs' Fabulous Freebie Friday! Join us on Paper Craft Planet every Friday at 8am EST for a new 24 hour freebie! There's also a fortnightly challenge you can play along with for a chance to win more SSD images! This week our freebie is the famously tragic Romeo & Juliet! These two lovers would be the movie version with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. The challenge theme is "Shot Through The Heart" (which more aptly describes how I feel about this holiday! lol). All you have to do join in is use hearts somewhere on your creation.
I've colored the couple with Copics and fussy cut them. Juliet's wings are coated in Crystal Stickles. Papers are Basic Grey - True Love. I was so happy when I scored the last 6x6 pad at AC Moore! The dimensional stickers are from the same collection. Sketch N Stash provides the layout (#106). I used a Fiskars heart border punch and layered a white heart doily under the image. There are also hearts on the papers and one of the stickers is a heart. The only other embellishment I added were a few rhinestones.
Head over to Paper Craft Planet to see what the Fabettes have created! We're on a new DT rotation so you'll see some fresh faces as these gals take their turn on the FFF team! Please give them a warm welcome!
I'm sure everyone will be watching football this weekend, but not me! I'll be busy crafting! Happy Super Bowl weekend and enjoy!
Markers used: Copics (E11, E21, E00, E31, E33, E34, Y32, Y35, R00, R20, E04, E23, E37, E39, N0, N2, N4, N6, BG10, BG15, R81, R85, R89).
