Fabulous Freaky, I mean, Freebie Friday

Happy Friday the 13th! It's funny that I believe in certain things that perhaps can't be explained by rational means, but I'm not superstitious. I won't be avoiding black cats or ladders today. Not that I'll have much occasion to cross paths with either, but if I did, I would not shy away. I also will not be forwarding any e-mails that promise me good luck or money for doing so. I'll take my chances, thanks. But what I will be doing is telling you about a couple of fabulous things over at Sassy Studio Designs!

First, it's Friday so that means another amazing freebie over on our Paper Craft Planet group! If you haven't joined, you'll want to! Not because any ill fortune will befall you if you don't, but because every week we offer up one of Lindsay's incredible images for free! And I know you don't want to miss out on that! We also have a challenge there every fortnight.

Today's image is Queen Gorgo, from the movie 300! She was a freebie there last year as a way of celebrating 300 members (which we've more than doubled now so I know a lot of you have yet to snag her). She is one of my favorite movie characters and one of my favorite Sassy images! Our theme for this fortnight's challenge is "Leather and Lace". Or as I told the Fabettes "tassels and tulle" or "twine and trim". We want to see fabric or fiber of some sort somewhere on your project. I went literal with the "leather and lace" on my easel card. I haven't made one of these in a while so I thought it would be fun! I've used the sketch from this week's Dare To Be Sassy Thursday challenge (#120), created my very talented design team mate Kathy. The sentiment is computer generated using the Bleeding Cowboys font and is a quote from the movie. It's from the scene where she stabs the bad guy! Papers are My Mind's Eye - Lost & Found: Union Square. I've used a couple of Martha Stewart punches (drippy goo and branch) and added some flowers, black pearls, and Tim Holtz metal corners along with some glittery black chipboard numbers for the "300".

I hope you will visit both PCP and the SSD blog today to see what the awesome design teams have created for both these wonderful challenges! Remember, the freebie is only available for 24 hours so you'll want to head over to PCP sooner than later.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous freaky Friday!

{hugs}
Regan

I love these easel cards, have to try it soon. Very cool leather strap, and sentiment, that is perfect. Great papers, and drippy blood border, that's a great gruesome touch! Happy Friday the 13th, be sure to avoid very tall lumbering men wearing Hockey masks.
